Traveling

Hey All

Typing this message to let the community know that I'll be traveling for a few weeks. As I type this out, I'm sitting in a gate at a terminal in an airport, waiting to fly to Japan.

There was a lot I wanted to get done before my flight. I didn't get around to everything, unfortunately. The last several weeks, I had to divide my time between planning the itinerary for my Japan trip with a few friends. I also had to sort out some workplace drama that escalated into legal drama (I'm okay as of now, you should see the other guy).

I've done my best to try to tend to what I can. There's a lot of things still in the backlog that I need to get on LAW-wise.

I see the discord image purge seems to have claimed many images on the site, which is unfortunate. I haven't had the time yet to do my do diligence and check to see if anything can be recovered. I wish Discord had given a heads up in much the same way imgur did, but alas. Even if they had, I don't know that I would have had the time to do something about it. I hope to be able to do something when I come back, but we'll have to see.

There's the matter of the social media bot and the spotlight bot on the discord server, as well. Things that I wish I had gotten to focus on rather the irl stuff.

I hope to find time to figure out how I can optimize the front page and see how I can make it load faster for everyone. I hope I get the time to respond to every post, and to catch up with everyone one on one via discord or other means.

I've noticed that many discord accounts have been hacked lately. Please enable two factor authentication on your Discord account if you haven't already. it will go a long way towards preventing your account from getting compromised.

I always try my best when it comes to LAW, but there have been many times in the past year or so where I've felt like my best wasn't good enough for a lot of people.

My travel plan is to fly back on the 4th and arrive on the 5th. It's my hope that I'll be able to dedicate more time to LAW and to my friends here once I return. Hopefully life doesn't have much to say about that. I'll be away during this time but because I won't be working, there may be times of day where I'll be able to get a few messages out to some folks here and there, maybe the odd post or two.

I hope everyone's taking care of themselves. I hope to catch up with folks and to make more substantial contributions when I return.
