I wanted to set aside some time to address a few things. I wanted to assess our progress as a wrestling RP forum and to make plans for things we'll be doing in the future.
First off, before I jump into any of that, I want to take a second to wish everyone well. 2020 has been a heck of a decade. Tons of unforeseeable circumstances have popped up for everyone around the globe. We all have lives that demand our time, energy, and attention outside of LAW. And regardless of your activity on here or whatever's happening on the boards, I implore you all to take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Be sure to consistently set time aside to ensure that you're doing well emotionally, mentally, and happy. Please stay safe and healthy out there.
All that being said, despite the pandemic and several other things going on in the world, I'm happy to see folks continue to use LAW to have fun, to RP, wrestle, smother, engage in discussion, and have fun. LAW's been more active than I expected it to be during the back half of this year. And that's a very good thing. It makes me happy to see people enjoying using this place and doing what they can to keep it a welcoming, fun place to be.
As the face that runs this place, I'm going to continue doing my best to be here and to facilitate RP in general, fun and interesting events, a healthy title scene, and to help people find new ways to have fun.
And speaking of events, I realize that there haven't been many this year and I apologize for this. I believe this is due to a couple of factors. We typically try to hold additional official events (mod-run or admin-run PPV's) by gauging the progress and completion of threads in earlier events in the year. There are still a few matches in progress from this year's We Are LAW. But I'm sure covid, among other things, slowed folks down in that event. Not saying that people in We Are LAW are to blame. You guys are fine. Just try to find to see your matches through when you have time.
Because many folks in that event were stalled, I had chosen to skip our usual mid-year PPV. As such, there's been something of a small drought in events and I apologize for that. Many users have come forward suggesting event ideas or just ideas because of this. Examples include @Devilish53's idea for LAW Twitter and his Promo idea, @SweetHeart's Rare Match Roulette idea, and @xalex's rough idea for October and December PPV's. And those are just a couple of examples. Several other users have approached me on discord recently asking me about when the next PPV would be and what we're doing as far as events and titles go. And so, I wanted to make this thread to sort of lay out a roadmap.
My objectives over the next few months are: to set up another PPV event and to establish plans for LAWLESS 24/7 championship and the LAW World Openweight Championship. And I've linked to threads detailing the approach I'd like to take for 2/3 of these. I'll explain plans for the World Belt after gauging reception to the PPV and LAWLESS announcements.
Please reply in this thread or any of the threads, or message me with your thoughts. As always, I'll do whatever I can to keep things sensible, fun, and orderly. Thank you all again for being part of what makes LAW a success
