OPPRESSIVE DOMINANCE: Nefretiri approaches each match with two priorities: conquer her opponent's body, and conquer her opponent's mind. She has the sleek physique of a jungle predator and brings it to bear fully in matches, leaning heavily on punishing power moves and wrenching, agonizing submission holds. She has a preference for ending a match lying over her opponent in a pin, but won't hesitate to break their spirit and seek a pleading, begging submission. Moreover, she doesn't have any moral hangups about using whatever is necessary to claim victory - including cheap shots, weapons, bursts of mind-numbing magic, or even hypnotizing the referee.

Personality:
Nefretiri is a complicated person. Charismatic, confident, aloof, and utterly menacing, all wrapped in a regal, mystical air.
She doesn't consider herself evil - evil people rarely do, after all. But in her mind, she's rebelling against a life pre-determined for her. A life she did not choose. A life devoid of passion, one that would rob her of her potential. Rather than be far less than what she believes herself to be, she has chosen to pursue something bigger. Something grander. Eternal glory, freedom, personal fulfillment. And to do that, she's chosen professional wrestling.
As it so happens, she greatly enjoys wrestling. The competition is exciting and addictive, and there is no one out there that could convince her she isn't the most impressive specimen in the squared circle. The thing she savors most, however, is the thrill of physically dominating an opponent and the fame, fortune, and glory accrued from it. She views opponents as opportunities to stun fans and show off her greatness - a stepping stone towards her ultimate goal. She's crafty, however - conniving and clever, a planner, and utterly ruthless in her pursuit.
She doesn't take pleasure in causing pain, per se. She takes pleasure in dominance over others, which can manifest in a number of ways - and almost always involves pain and force in the ring. But she loves being lavished in praise and the sound of submission. And the feel of overwhelming someone trying to resist her is a guilty pleasure as well.
Loyalty is one of the surest ways to get on her good side. She has a certain protectiveness towards those who call themselves Sunless, or wear her mark. If she were to do any of this for anyone other than herself, it would be to the Sunless - those are the only ones she feels responsibility towards.

Special Note:
Kayfabe!?: This character has two options. One, her presented background is real, she's an actual sorceress, and her ultimate goal is worryingly real. Two, it's all elaborate, theatrical kayfabe and storytelling - but that comes with other complications. Both versions will be presented!
Real Magic Version
In a world that has mostly forgotten everything beyond the material, there exists a race of rare creature born to remind them. The Egyptian god, Heka, creates them with a singular purpose: to proselytize his greatness, to make sure life on Earth continues to revere him. These creatures, the Hekamiit, are born very rarely - often only one at a time. They live supernaturally long lifespans, their physical bodies frozen at the peak of their beauty and physical strength, when their heka (their spirit, or magic) is at its strongest. These feline servants of Heka are meant to conduct miracles in his name. And when they have become too jaded or unfit to carry his banner, they are undone so that another may be born to take their place.
Such is the fate Nefret was expected to follow. She was born long, long ago, and immediately pressed into the esoteric priesthood to learn all she could of the gods, languages, her magic, and purpose. She was taught to defend herself, should her magic ever fail her, through grappling and fighting. She was taught that her life was not her own.
It was meant to begin with a pilgrimage across Egypt to present herself as the newest Hekamiit and prove her worth. But Nefret was different. She was not content to follow the footsteps laid out for her, because she saw something that wrung her heart in ways she couldn't ignore. No matter where she went, it was the same - from pauper to prince, from beggar to khalif, every one of them had something she didn't. No matter how powerful her spells, how potent her magic, they had choice. For better or worse, they chose their steps and wove their own destinies. And in short order, this stung her as a bitter, hateful irony: that she should have so much magical power and potential, to have this education and teeming awareness of the cosmos, but never be permitted to use it in a way that she desired. In the end, this was no life. It was puppetry.
Nefret rebelled. She abandoned the pilgrimage and began proselytizing her own glory. Though many shunned her for fear of the wrath of the gods, she found her people in the dispossessed and downtrodden, those who already felt abandoned by the gods. They lived on the edges of society, in the shadows and shade; and so began the roots of her cult, the Sunless. With that, she changed her name from Nefret to Nefretiri. Thus, her influence spread, and she and the Sunless became aggressive in their pursuit of power.
It was an accident. She had decided to take shelter secretly in one of the Great Pyramids of Giza, and as she constructed a mystical seal to protect herself, a new world opened behind her leading into the Duat. She explored this new alien landscape, finding the lost and aimless souls of those whose hearts had been devoured. She encountered the native demon inhabitants of the umbral realm, and instantly saw potential. She began dominating them, subjugating them, and demanding their loyalty. Soon, the specters began to notice and drew near her, as she was a conqueror of their tormentors. Nefretiri offered the despondent spirits new purpose by serving her, and gave ghost and demon alike the promise that she would find a way to free her subjects. But until then, the Duat would become her seat of power. Her throne, as the Great Shadow.
Of course, none of this has anything to do with wrestling. That came about by pure chance.
Nefretiri discovered a prophecy regarding a ritual of apotheosis, and decided that would be the best way to keep her promise to her followers and attain the glory and independence she craved. She would become a goddess, herself; one who treated her followers well. She scoured the earth hunting the artifacts needed for the ritual, but eventually found herself at a dead-end: she needed something referred to only as a "Symbol of Power in the West". Many years passed with a frustrating lack of progress, until a hapless talent scout had somehow found her way slipping from the living world into the Duat. When questioned, she revealed her affiliation with the Jungle Wrestling Alliance, and casually mentioned the company's title belt - which correlated to the prophecy. That "one would appear from the west and speak of jungles." Immediately, Nefretiri saw the sign for what it was and made preparations to travel to the West.
She had enough power to bring two of her most loyal subjects; Odion, her spymaster, a shapeshifting demon, would present as her bodyguard. And Aneksi, her personal handmaiden, a spirit of the Duat, would present as her secretary - and basically act as a gofer.
She couldn't just steal the title. She had to "earn" it as a symbol of power. And so, Nefretiri joined the roster. She'd stop at nothing to obtain that belt, attain godhood, and hold true to her word while spreading her glory to the masses.

Kayfabe Version.
Nefret was born to a wealthy family with affluence in Luxor, Egypt. She grew up wanting for nothing, and was considered her family's pride and joy. Nefret took to the life of privilege extremely well, and naturally came to look down upon most people she encountered. But the one point of contention in her life was the lack of choice. The lack of freedom.
She developed a fascination for mysticism, but it was only a passing fancy. A cool concept, and one that lead her to toy with sleight of hand and small tricks worth of tipjar, but little else. It was professional wrestling that captured her heart upon seeing it: the pageantry, the egos on the line, the competition, the spectacle, the clash! She was hooked. And when she expressed the desire to delve into it, her parents scoffed but provided her with the highest caliber physical training money could buy. They figured that would get her over it.
It didn't.
Instead, they were subjected to constant demands to let her join a federation and travel. But the last time she asked was when she was firmly told no, and finally given a reason: an arranged marriage. She was meant to meet and acclimatize to an impending marriage to someone she did not care about whatsoever. To her, this would be the end of her life - nothing more than a bartering tool for her family to forge a union with another.
She refused outright and insisted she would stay single forever. She threatened to tank the family's public name. And finally, at long last, her father assented to her demands to join a professional wrestling federation under certain conditions: she had to take Odion with her as a bodyguard, and Aneksi as an assistant. She eagerly accepted, and in short order, the gimmick of Nefretiri, Great Shadow, was born.
To her family, it was a way to get the obsession out of her system. To Nefret, it was her only shot at living her life.

Fun Facts:
- Power of a Name: Nefret chose the name "Nefretiri" on purpose. The name Nefret means "The Beautiful One". The name Nefretiri means "The Beautiful One has come." It is not the name of any pharaoh or famous person, and she gets quite annoyed when people mispronounce it.
- Unique Hieroglyph: The symbol of the Sunless is a unique hieroglyph. It consists of two hieroglyphs merged together (the sun disc behind the crescent moon), symbolizing the eclipse, something which ancient Egypt had no symbol to represent. For Nefretiri, it's symbolic of her Sunless followers stepping out ahead of the light.
- Lonely At The Top: Nefretiri lives a paranoid life, wherein she expects most people are out to either get in her way or otherwise stop her. Her guard is almost always high, with the only moments she believes she can relax being when she's thoroughly beaten an opponent or subjugated a cultist/fan. It's landed her with a very lonely existence.
- Maybe a LITTLE Sadistic: Alright. Maybe she's into playing rough and physically dominating opponents a little more than she lets on. It might be a slight kink. Maybe. Shhh.
- Polyglot: Nefretiri can read, write, and speak multiple languages, including: Arabic, Coptic Egyptian, Hieroglyphics, English, Japanese, Mandarin, and French.
- It's Official: Nefretiri belongs to an anthro-oriented federation called the Jungle Wrestling Alliance. See the gallery for image examples!
