Legend of the Warrior Princess: The Saga of Fang: Episode Three

Unread post by ZorzLeth »

Long ago, my people lived in peace and happiness. Then one day, a dark force came to our lands, slaughtered my family and people. I, sole survivor of this attack, barely escaped from this sinister being. After years as an exile, a slave and a no one, I seek to find out why evil came to us that day. As I explore the lands of sword and sorcery, with dangers and comradery where I find them, I will avenge my people and stop this evil.

This is my tale. The Saga of Fang.

Episode Three: The Hunter

It was long and crude at the tavern, as several people were drinking, laughing and shouting and just having a good time. Of course, why wouldn't they? It was dark, raining and thundering outside; meaning that most people would be staying indoors for the time being. That would go the same for newcomers as well. In one corner, Fang, who was still wet and slightly dirty, was currently having some simple soup. Nothing special, but it should keep her warm. Now, her beautiful form was concealed by the long coat and hood (that she eventually pulled down) that was wet and dirty. In fact, her hair was slightly messy and had some dirt on her face.

After parting ways with Oscar, Fang was still on her mission to find a way of dealing with those who were pursuing her, which could give insight to what happened to her family and lands all those years ago. Unfortunately, the best she could do was play cat and mouse with those after her. The reason for this was that she was also dealing with more unwanted attention.

Over the last week, Fang had to abruptly leave the villages almost shortly after arriving in them. It turns that she was wanted, dead or alive and there were posters scattered about that had (much to her chagrin) accurately detailed her facial features. Since then, she had to deal with the unfortunate luck of fending off any mercenaries or bounty hunters that wanted to cash on that reward; and the price for her capture or head was not cheap. That would definitely explain why her coat was filthy and a bit tattered on the edges, along with her face and hair being dirty; not to mention how she had a bit of a sour, annoyed look on her face.

Now, the reason why she had the hood down this time, and not concealing herself, was that upon arriving to this town, which was to the south-east of where she encountered Oscar, she spent the entire day making sure that she would not deal with any attacks. Going from building to building, checking every side of the walls, Fang worked tirelessly to take down any wanted posters of her. She had to do this carefully or she would attract the unwanted attention of the town guards.

The town itself was well fortified, having walls to better fend off attackers. This meant there was a small militia group that guarded and protected the town. While this was good for Fang, in a sense that it would mean the less likelihood of being forced into a fight by another bounty hunter, it meant that those wanted posters made her a criminal; another reason to take down the posters. It was a lot of hard work, removing and destroying the posters without getting caught (and she almost was a couple of times) and it was only by the evening, when it started raining, that she was all finished.

The town itself was located near a mountain range that Fang was trying to figure if she'd have to venture through. She heard word of magic being used in lands on the other side of the mountain range, which sounded familiar to the magic that was used on the day her family and people were wiped out. Now, getting any more information from anyone in this town was difficult, as talks of magic usually ended with people she was talking to becoming instantly afraid.

They wanted nothing to do with magic, seeing as they heard legends of sorceresses and a Dark Wizard that were some horrifying that the people would rather pretend that they heard nothing.

In fact, the tarvern quickly quieted down at one point when some drunk fool blurted out something about the "Dark Wizard", which promptly made other people getting him to stop talking.

Regardless, it was unlikely Fang was not going to get any information from the people of this time for the time being. She would have to try and head in that direction and find out in some other way. Until then...

"This rain really needs to go away... Fang muttered to herself, "So I can at least clean myself up." She knew that there was a river that led into a nearby forest, which could try to bath in. Now, she could've just tried to get a bath while in town, but seeing as she had to brush off some unsavory folks making advances on her (usually by showing off the hilt of her sword or threatening to break their teeth or bust their jewels), she really wanted the quiet time.

At least there was no one actively hunting her at the moment, or so she thought...

Alexios Laskaris, the Titan of the Sea, watched the cloaked woman as she went about the town. He observed her tearing down wanted posters detailing the bounty on the warrior woman known as Fang... the bounty he was currently pursuing. Alexios had accepted the bounty two towns over in Valdor. He had paid an information broker for everything he could on Fang. He heard that a woman matching her description encountered a Barbarian tribe not far from him. He had heard that she and the Barbarian Prince, who had turned on his tribe, had fought the King and escaped. Alexios poured over his intricately detailed map and knew that the bounty was posted by a Dark Wizard. He also knew that there were sightings of magic on the other side of the Ashyn Mountains. With a starting point of the Barbarian tribe and a possible destination, it was trivial for Alexios to trace a likely path for Fang. And it paid off as he watched a woman tear down every wanted poster for the bounty he was seeking.

Alexios allowed her to do this as he didn't want competition for his bounty. He spent a fair amount of time observing her in the tavern. He ate the forgetful soup as well as he eyed her from a corner. Upon seeing her go outside, he waited a few moments before heading out the back. It wasn't hard for him to catch up with her as she made her way to the river in the forest outside of town. Alexios tailed her at a safe distance, waiting for the right moment to strike.

The rain would eventually subside, as Fang would now be able to clean herself off like she hoped. After a few minutes of traversing the town, she made her way to the forest, which would take her down to the river where she would clean herself.

As she did this, she kept an eye, and an ear, out for any suspicious activity. She may have removed those posters, and possibly reduced the number of people recognizing her, she could not be complacent.

Alexios was surprisingly agile for his size. Rather than follow her openly, he slinked from cover to cover as he tailed Fang. He observed her go to the river. Realizing she was going to take a bath, Alexios waited for her to get comfortable and lower her guard. Alexios removed the cloak from his shoulders and stretched, readying himself for the ambush.

Eventually, Fang made her way down to the spot of the river that would suit her needs. It was deep enough for her to submerge herself in. She scanned the area for the bit, making sure that the cost was clear. After spending a few seconds scouting the area, and seeing nothing, Fang decided to begin stripping down. She removed her cloak, showcasing herself in her armoured form.

Placing her sheathed sword onto the ground, she began to remove her armour. Begging with her leggins, she would go on to remove her gauntlets, then the armour protecting her maing body. Eventually, she would have only a black thong and a black, strapless cloth concealing her private parts.

Soon, she was getting ready to take these off as well.

Alexios was ready. More than ready. Fang had let her guard down and it was almost time to strike. Armor can make all the difference in a fight. Alexios had taken off his so he could sneak up to her. He waited for her to take off her armor. However, he would respect her dignity and ambush her before she took off her actual undergarments. Alexios crept up behind her and, as she was fiddling with her hair, he wrapped one meaty arm around her neck and placed the other one on the back of her head. Pulling her in close to his chest, Alexios would attempt to clasp his arms together, lock in a sleeper hold, and choke her unconscious. An easy payday.

Fang was close to fully removing the last bits of her clothing, with only the black fabric covering her chest and privates. She walked towards the edge of the water; ready to take a bath. She reached her hands back to unclip the top covering the chest, but before she could do so, she felt her neck and head seized in a strong hold.

"What th..." Fang could only gasp out as she was seized in a strong sleeper hold. She wiggled and thrashed immediately to try and get out of the hold. She put her hands on the attacker's arm that was around her neck.

"Rude to...interrupt a lady bathing!" Fang said in a sassy tone.
