With Melody successfully getting to Round 2, she grew weary of the match tonight...possibly even more weary than if she were in the finals right now. And that all had to do with the matter of her opponent: Katherine Hart.

Even though most knew her as a great wrestler (which Melody couldn’t deny) and a great person, that last part was for contention for the greenette.

It’s now been 8 months since the rematch between Navi and Kat from last year, the one where Kat swore to break Navi in half if she wasn’t awarded the win, which permanently casted the masked blonde to her in a black light in her opinion.

The next day, she made herself incredibly clear to Kat to not challenge Navi to a match again, and certainly to never respond to her further challenges, with her thankfully being on the same page with her. Even if it didn’t mend her opinion of the woman, (and slightly damaged her friendship with Navi), Melody knew that Katherine Hart was nothing but a woman of her word, so she trusted her for the following 8 month. And, true to her word, aside from a spat in a comment section of her’s and Navi’s Youtube video, she never contacted Nat, much less challenged her to a match.

Fate was, however, a cruel thing, and Katherine Hart reappeared in Melody’s life once more. And today, she had to win for more than just getting to the finals. She had to beat Kat to prove to both to herself and to her, that if the feline wrestler ever tried to go back on her word, Melody would make sure she wouldn’t touch a hair on Navi’s head.

Easier said than done, however.

Their rematch might’ve ended in a draw, but be it any other match type other than I Quit, and Navi would’ve lost. Kat was NOT an opponent to be taken lightly. In fact, it might prove to be her most difficult match in her career yet…

She tried to calm herself however, and looked at the mirror. She looked prepared, but her hands were shaking, and she herself looked afraid, breathing heavily. She tried to steel herself, tried to not let her show her emotions…

...but unlike all the other times when she tried to calm herself down before a potentially difficult match, her heart was still beating like crazy with anxiety, and she was feeling sweat going down the back of her neck, as doubt creeped to her mind as to whether she could beat the masked blonde. Even though she forbid Navi from coming (and considering there was no way she could see the match live, due to it being taped on delay), she really wished she would give her some needed moral support. Even just her friend simply saying “Go kick her ass!” would’ve done a lot more for her current self-esteem than the dead silence of the locker room…

She nearly jumped when a crew member knocked on the door, breaking said silence, telling Melody that it was 3 minutes to her entrance.

“Fuck...there is no way out. I will defeat her...I have to...I must…”, Melody tried to motivate herself, but still shaking as she made her way towards the gorilla position.

And, as she entered the ring a few minutes later to her theme song, she tried to not let her emotions show on the outside. Strangely enough, it was much easier to do to the roar of 100s and 1000s of fans. She made her way down the entrance ramp, high-fiving people as she usually did, before rolling into the ring, and bowing during the critical part of her song…

...but once it slowly disappeared, doubt reared it’s ugly head in Melody’s mind. Referee asked Melody to go to her corner. Melody ignored her, standing in the middle of the ring, staring at the entrance way as she waited for Katherine Hart to come out…

===============================================

Katherine had been backstage stretching her back and getting limber for her upcoming match. She hadn’t been feeling the levels of anxiety that Melody had. But she took her foe seriously regardless. The purple clad masked luchadora paused for a moment and adjusted her leotard whilst contemplating aloud. Fate was indeed cruel in that somehow some way, Kat found herself paired up against Melody Serperior, the best friend of the woman she had gone to war with several months ago: Navi Florges.

“The first round definitely wasn’t easy. Susanna was quite the fighter….but I’d gladly fight her again or anyone else over Melody…”

Kat disliked the idea of having to fight Melody. Especially given the brief history the two shared at another wrestling promotion. What would follow the outcome of this match? How would Navi react? What if she appeared in this match. All these questions appeared in Kat’s mind, but she shut them out. This time around, there was no ally of hers for Navi or Melody to assault like last time. If worst came to worst during the match, The Super Kitty would simply have to find a way to live up to her alias. And the aftermath was simply something she’d need to sort out after the fact.

“She’s definitely seen her fair share of hardcore matches. I know for a fact that I could never do the piranha thing...Yeah, Melody probably has the advantage in this type of match. This won’t be easy.” Kat continued. She recalled some of the previous matches Melody had. Melody certainly had done some extreme things. Despite this, Kat steeled herself. She knew that she’d need to bring her A game if she intended to advance to the finals of the LAW Ko Tournament. The Super Kitty rotated her shoulders and began to make her way to the arena.

She emerged to the sound of her theme song and stood tall with her hands on her hips. The audience greeted her with a chorus of applause. Kat wore her usual confident, competitive smile as she waved to the audience for a few seconds. The veteran wrestler would begin to make her way down to the ring. She met Melody’s intense glare with stare of her own. Her blue eyes visible from a large distance. Kat had walked with posture and poise and that showed she came to throw down hard. That even if it was just bragging rights, this tournament would help to highlight the frontrunners and standouts at LAW, and The Super Kitty intended to be among them. Once she made it to the ring, Kat would roll under the bottom rope and pop up to her feet.

Kat would face Melody and continue to smile. She paused for a couple seconds before slowly walking towards her and meeting her in the middle of the ring. To build tension, Hart would walk straight towards Melody and get into nearly a point blank range. She’d let only a short moment pass before stating: “Listen, I wanna be totally clear with you. Whatever history or bad blood you and I may or may not have, I wanna put that aside for tonight. I came to wrestle an honest match, not wail on a woman that I’ve got beef with...So can we agree to wrestle as professionals and not rivals?”

If allowed to finish her statement, Kat would put her forward in the small space between them. The purple clad heavyweight wanted to be clear about the fact that she didn’t want a grudge match. And before the bell could sound, she’d show that she wanted to make Melody very aware.

===============================================

Even though she was afraid, even though she wished Navi would be at ringside, to at least act as a second in the corner, Melody knew she couldn’t allow Navi to be here tonight, in any way, shape or form. Whatever happened tonight, whether she managed to beat Kat, whether Kat beat her, Navi would still be pissed when she would watch the tourney on TV, but regardless of what her friend thought, she would see through it alone…

As Kat made her entrance, she, at first, looked the same as the Greenette in the ring - all smiles and high-fives…

...however, unlike Melody, that seemingly was the Super Kitty’s attitude, as she stood up, face to face with Melody with a big, confident smile on her face, contrasted with Melody’s intense facade, trying to appear tougher than she truly was mentally on the outside, while being an anxious wreck on the inside.

Melody would allow Kat to say her piece as both women intently looked at each other. What Kat was asking was an incredibly difficult thing to do. The fact that Kat was her opponent tonight weighed on her mind a lot more than the tourney itself, and putting aside her bias was an incredibly difficult thing to do...especially in a match where the only way to win was knocking the daylights out of one another.

But, Melody doubted that an outright truthful answer would garner a positive response from Kat. Nodding, Melody would answer, her expression unchanging: “I will be as professional as I can possibly be...”, she would say, almost wanting to add: “But I still hate your fucking guts”, to finish the sentence.

With the ref asking the two of them to take their respective corners, Melody would finally oblige the stripe-shirted official. With the ring of the bell, the match was underway!

The two women wouldn’t immediately run at each other. Even though she was nervous, she knew she had some advantages in a hardcore match such as this, having more experience in the match type compared to the Masked blonde. Her striker style also helped the matters of trying to knock Kat out a whole lot. Realising several advantages in her side, Melody’s forced intense expression changed to a more focused one, the greenette calming down, making it much more believable to people in the arena and at home that Melody was prepared to go toe-to-toe with Kat.

As such, Melody would be the one to open the contest, attempting to launch a quick kick to the side of Kat’s body!

===============================================

Katherine took her opponent’s words and attitude at face value. She figured that without Navi at ringside, or on the premises as far as she knew, it would be easier to wrestle this match like it were any other. The history between Navi and Kat - between Melody and Kat as well, none of that had to play a part in this tourney, right? That was the notion Kat held onto. That was the ideal execution of this match. And that notion that had about a zero percent likelihood of being seen through.

The masked woman happily shook hands with her green haired opponent. She nodded to Melody as she agreed with Kat and asserted that she’d keep things professional in the ring, tonight. Kat hopped in place as a bit of a warm up before the ref asked both women to return to their respective corners and the audience clamored in anticipation of their showdown. Regardless of the two agreeing to not to lose themselves, the reality of the situation was that neither lady was willing to leave that ring without knocking out the other and robbing them of their consciousness. And Kat couldn’t help the feeling that a win for Melody over her in such a match up would bring the green clad wrestler more satisfaction than she was willing to admit.

As the match began, The Super Kitty took notice of Melody’s change in facial expression as she left her corner. Katherine knew she was facing an opponent that was more at home in a hardcore environment. And she was about to become more familiar with Melody’s affinity for striking. As Melody closed in, Kat brought her arms up to blonde. She knew she’d need to use her size and strength advantage, but as usual she’d fall back on her greatest assets: her experience and technical prowess. Melody’s kick came quickly and found it’s way into Kat’s side. The masked woman would grunt as it connected. Katherine would try and wrap her arm around Melody’s shin, and attempt to follow up. It was rare that a move on Kat went unpunished, at least when she could help it.

“NGGH!”

If successful in grabbing Serperior’s leg, the luchadora would attempt to pull her opponent in, hook Melody’s standing leg with her own, and thrust into her chest with an open palm! She to send Melody off balance and floor her! If successful in forcing Melody down onto her back, Kat would merely stand over her and smile. She’d allow Melody the chance to rise! To some it would seem that Kat was either too confident or too merciful. But the truth was, she was just getting herself warmed up.

===============================================

Almost smirking when the kick connecting, Melody’s face changed to one of surprise as Kat would manage to catch her leg in the aftermath, not allowing the greenette to pull it away!

She yelped in panic as Kat pulled her forward, and pushed her down with her palm! Worried that the Super Kitty would follow up her attack, Melody braced herself…

...but Kat just stood over her, allowing her to get up.

Melody remembered that it was this attitude that Navi hated in the woman. Overconfidence and hope to appear as a hero is what fueled the French blonde’s massive hatred of the woman, considering the fact that Kat always refused to fight Navi, at her 100%.

For Melody, however, it was a weakness that she could right now exploit.

To show to the Super Kitty that there is no time for a warm up in this match, Melody would lift herself to a crawl, before outstretching her left leg, trying to sweep Kat’s leg from underneath her!

===============================================

Katherine had succeeded in grabbing the leg that was swung at her and taking advantage by forcing her foe down. The sudden start to the match got the crowd going. A cockier wrestler might have taken the chance to raise their arms or boast. But Hart wasn’t about to get a swelled head. She rolled her shoulders and looked down at the green-ette. Kat hadn’t sought to press the early advantage, and failing to do so would soon cost her!

In the past, the masked woman had refused to use her full strength and capacity against Melody’s best friend, Navi, and by extension Kat found herself holding back against Melody, herself. Miss Serperior was quick to punish Kat for this. She pushed herself up to a crawling position and quickly lunged at the purple clad woman with a leg sweep! Kat would be taken down and find herself on the same level as her foe - on the canvas!

The Super Kitty would attempt to reposition herself after falling. She scrambled to find her way up to her knees, hopefully before her foe could follow up. If Melody was willing to engage her in such a position, Kat would ask her in a serious tone: “You really wanna fight me down here?”

Hart wasn’t always outright boastful. But she usually was brimming with confidence when it came to competing in the ring. She believed in her ability to grapple with the very best of ‘em. And in a match against a more hardcore wrestler like Melody, Katherine knew that the canvas definitely a place where she could secure an advantage.

===============================================

With her leg sweep complete, Melody managed to get Kat on her level! If she wanted to hold back, fine, Melody thought. She wasn’t Navi, she wouldn’t get mad because of that. She would simply showcase with her skill that Kat shouldn’t have underestimated her.

Silently smirking at Kat’s question, the Greenette would extend herself from a crouch to a full stand, rotating on her right foot, while keeping her left foot of the ground…

...and, upon the completion of the revolution, Melody’s left foot would aim squarely for the side of kneeling blonde’s head! Melody wasn’t an idiot to challenge Kat to a grappling contest, both because of her lack of skill for mat wrestling and because grappling skills weren’t very effective in a match where one had to KO their opponent.

A good kick aimed at head though? Does wonders if you are looking to KO your opponent.

=================================================

Kat had mixed feelings coming into the match. She hid them well under a thick layer of confidence and positive spirit, but she did have concerns about fighting Melody, especially in this type of match. But so far, her interactions with LAW’s standout green clad wrestler led Hart to believe that the ill will between the two could be feasibly cast aside, for this match at least. Despite Kat’s expectations of the contrary, the two had actually agreed to keep things professional. And now, in the middle of their back and forth exchange, Kat was happy to see Melody smile at her.

When Kat saw Melody begin to rise, she sharpened her senses and widened her eyes. The spin that Melody had done to build up momentum, gave the Super Kitty time to plant one foot on the canvas. By the time Melody had spun around, a combination of sufficient observational skills and reaction time would see to it that Kat raised her forearm to the side of her face just in time to block the brunt of the kick! The force of the blow would have Kat pause for just a second before being able to act, but once she was capable of doing so, she’d attempt to place a hand on Melody’s raised shin.

The Super Kitty would attempt to keep things lively. She’d try to throw Melody’s leg to the side with all the force she could muster in an effort to spin the green-ette around. Immediately, Kat would follow up by rising and spinning along with her opponent with the intention of hitting Melody with a Discus Lariat as the two completed a full revolution! If successful, the display would dazzle the fans and Kat would raise an arm and smile widely to acknowledge them after hopefully striking down her foe.

=================================================

Melody let out a growl as she felt her leg colliding with Kat’s forearm, the Super Kitty successfully blocking the side of her face from the potential damage from the hard kick to her head.

Almost immediately, Melody tried to pull back, but once again, the masked wrestler grabbed her foot, refusing to let it go for the Greenette to prepare another attack. Instead, she would throw it to the side, forcing Melody to spin in the opposite way she did previously!

Reacting to the momentum shift quickly, Melody prepared her foot. Even if her previous kick missed, there was a good chance her heel could collide with Kat’s face! She raised her leg, expecting Kat to be on her feet by that point...

However, her attempted kick attempt flew right over the rotating Super Kitty’s head, chill going down Melody’s spine as she felt her heel collide with nothing but air!

Right as her forced revolution was completed, and she expected to come face to face with Kat, she saw Kat’s forearm swiftly approaching her head, before…

SMACK!

With Kat’s signature DIscus Lariat hitting her right across her face, Melody dropped on her back as a result of the impact, groaning in pain. She tried to shake off the daze by the move as quickly as she could to attempt to push herself to her feet, however. This was only the first attack by Kat in this match, no way would she go down so easily!

=================================================

The two women engaged in an impressive display of strikes and dodges. After successfully blocking the bulk of the force of the green-ette’s kick, Katherine was able to throw it to the side and spin her foe around, inadvertently setting Melody up to deliver another swift, hard kick! But fortunately for Kat, she was able to duck under the foot that sought to jar her cranium.

Serperior’s leg would graze the top of Katherine’s mask as Kat got up and spun before taking Melody down hard with her Discus Lariat! The force of the blow took the middleweight down hard, and the audience would react when Katherine raised her arm in the heat of the moment.

Katherine would look down and measure her foe. She loomed over Melody as the green clad woman began to push herself up to her feet. Kat would attempt to grab hold of Melody’s head as she worked her way up. The Super Kitty would attempt to keep the offense going. As Melody rose, Kat would attempt to take her down by flipping the sports bra clad woman with a Snapmare. If she were successful in taking Melody down to a seated position like she was trying to, Katherine would rise and attempt to kick her leg back before throwing it forward and aiming a kick at Melody’s spine! She’d let out a battle cry as she did, in the hopes of kicking with enough force to deal some considerable damage!

“HYAHT!”

The Super Kitty would attempt to stay on her foe by bending down and and quickly trying to grab hold of both of Melody’s arms. Kat would attempt to drive her knee into the area she just kicked and try to pressure Melody with a Seated Surfboard Stretch! If she locked in the hold Kat would grunt while trying to maintain it. Despite trying to keep things professional, Kat would fail to resist the urge to ask while she applied the hold: “If you’re here...at LAW...Navi must be, too, right?”

=================================================

Right as Melody got to her hands and knees, her mind starting to clear after Kat’s stiff Discus Clothesline, she attempted to pull herself up quickly, before The Super Kitty continued her offence on her…

However, Melody’s head would be caught just as Melody found her way to her feet by her opponent, flipping the greenette over her shoulder onto her rear with a snapmare, following it up with a hard kick to her spine!

“AAAAH!”

Despite her attempts to ignore the pain, and to simply keep going, Kat would be quickly on to her, driving her knee into the hurt spot on her opponent’s back, and grabbing her arms, and pulled on them to dig her knee into her hurt back as painfully as she could for a Surfboard Stretch!

Naturally, the Greenette would fight back, trying to pull her arms away from Kat, somewhat succeeding in elevating the pain from the hold...but not by much. In a contest of strength, Melody was naturally losing to the mask clad blonde. Much more interesting to the greenette was Kat’s strategy. Stuff like chokes and sleepers in a match like this, she could understand - deprive the flow of blood or the flow of oxygen to the brain to KO the opponent sounded like an effective way to get a win in a contest such as this…

Surfboard, on the other hand, was a work-over hold. No one ever tapped out to it...mostly because they couldn’t, with their wrists trapped by their opponent, but point being, it was meant to work over their opponent’s back.... And there was only one move in Super Kitty’s arsenal that could possibly follow up on that and KO the vulnerable Greenette - her Bow and Arrow hold.

Melody flashed back, for less than a second, to the few months back, when Kat wrestled Navi in their I Quit match to a draw, as the bloodied blonde was KO’d by Kat’s Bow and Arrow...and Kat refusing to release the hold. The painful memory made Melody growl. No way would she allow the Super Kitty end her in a similar manner.

And right in the middle of remembering, Kat asked Melody a particular question:

“You know she is...ggghhh...you were taunting her on Youtube a few months back, when she got into the Middleweight Tourney…”, Melody said, as her attempts to break out of the hold got more and more aggressive, practically trying to rip her arms out of Kat’s grip, yet trying to hide the anger in her voice: “Why are you asking?”

=================================================

The Super Kitty continued building momentum. After taking her green haired rival down with a snapmare, she followed it up by blatantly targeting Melody’s back with a swift kick followed by a Surfboard Stretch. Indeed by now, Kat’s game plan was clear. The blonde heavyweight began trying to work her foe’s back, seemingly in an effort to augment the damage she could do with her Bow and Arrow submission finisher. The same hold that KO’d Melody’s best friend in Navi in Kat’s previous in-ring encounter. It was a move that Katherine had a lot of confidence was. She had managed to knock out a few wrestlers with that hold and it seemed that she was looking to add Melody to the list.

Being the veteran she was, Kat had opted to use the Surfboard as a means of getting close to Melody to inquire about Navi. Such a chance wouldn’t be granted to her by a choke or a sleeper, as those holds constrict the neck and inhibit the victim’s ability to breathe and talk. It didn’t seem like it at the time, but Kat’s question was genuine. Whether it was a huge oversight on her part of a case of denial, she hadn’t known - no she hadn’t accepted that Navi had joined LAW. Getting away from the arrogant, rebellious, upstart Navi had done Katherine a lot of good. But now wasn’t the time to consider those feelings. Regardless of what Navi’s presence meant for Kat, she had a very real and very difficult battle to face right now in the form of Melody Serperior.

Being physically stronger than Serperior allowed Kat the chance to maintain the hold for a short time. She kept her knee pressed harshly into the woman’s spine. The back of the green haired middleweight’s sports bra gave a good visual indicator of where to aim to help focus on her spine. But despite the pain and the predicament of having both her arms pulled back by Katherine, Melody found the will to press on! As Melody continued to try and power out, it became obvious that Kat couldn’t keep her locked up forever. The luchadora would try to maintain the hold and watch her opponent’s writhing and struggling. When Melody made her next attempt at powering out, Kat would fall onto her back and spread her legs. She’d attempt to wrap her thick, powerful legs around Melody’s arms and transition to catch her in a lotus lock!

“I...I didn’t wanna believe it…” Hart would say, begrudgingly as she tried to lock in that second hold.

=================================================

Melody continue to try and get her arms out of Kat’s grasp, the masked luchadora hardly pressing her knee into her back, trying to get her arms out of her grasp to try and mount an effective counter attack. The greenette’s mind was also clouded with anger as Kat reminded her about her feud with Navi earlier in the year, both with her talk and her strategy, making it difficult for her to come up with an effective escape from the Surfboard aside from powering out of it...and for a while, she seemed to have succeeded in that regard, as her arms slowly slipped away from Super Kitty’s fingers…

….only for Kat to reestablish it, and transition from this hold to a different one. The blonde would fall on her back, wrapping her larger legs around Melody’s arms, hardly pushing on them inwards, as well as pressing on her neck to push her head forwards for a Lotus Lock!

“AAAAAH! ...what...is there to not believe? She managed to move on from your feud...even managed to get quite far in a title tourney for the middleweight division….grrrrrrr....”, Melody would praise Navi, while figuring out a way to escape from the painful hold. She folded her legs, attempting to pull herself up and on top of Kat. Had this been a regular match, the danger of the pin would’ve likely forced the Super Kitty to give up the hold. Alas, this was not possible in a KO match such as this.

As such, she had a different idea in mind. Pushing at the mat with her legs, she tried to turn over the loop made by the luchadora’s legs. If all went well, and if she managed to get her arms out of Kat’s grasp during her escape, Melody would end up on her legs, behind the Super Kitty!

=================================================

Kat tried to wrestle control of her opponent away for time being. It almost seemed as if the masked woman was making an effort to keep their conversation going. After locking in the lotus hold, she’d slowly get over her realization that Navi now occupied her league and return her full attention to the green warrior she was in the ring with. Katherine had just begun to up the pressure on the hold, tensing her legs around Melody’s arms and shoulders before Melody had begun an attempt at a reversal. Kat hadn’t seen was her opponent was going for at first. By the time she had realized that Melody was pushing in an effort to force her onto her back and flip behind her, Serperior had already freed herself.

“I got caught up in the fact that she couldn’t pin me like that. Melody’s probably better than I’ve been giving her credit for.” Kat thought to herself as she popped up to her feet and turned around. She raised an eyebrow at Melody before saying aloud: “Not bad, Mel! Never pegged you to be the technical type.“

The Super Kitty would raise her fists and take a fighting stance. She’d begin subtly gesturing towards Melody, beckoning her by curling her fingers and inviting her make the next move.

“What else ya got?”

Katherine tried to shift focus from discussion on Navi back to their contest. Hart had been the one that asked to keep things professional, yet here she was getting sidetracked, even if it was just for a moment. The Super Kitty affixed her gaze on Serperior. She smiled her at with her usual, confident and competitive countenance and eagerly awaiting Melody’s next move. Kat prepped herself for another strike, but after that last escape, she felt like Melody could come at her with just about anything.

Re: LWS 2017 Round 2: Melody Serperior V. Katherine Hart

Unread post by Noob »

Melody wasn’t the biggest fan of Katherine Hart for an obvious reason...but the masked woman was still a great, accomplished wrestler. As such, Super Kitty’s praise of greenette’s skills was greeted with a smile in her direction, forgetting about the matter discussed a moment ago. As Kat took a fighting stance, so did Melody, as the two women focused on the fight at hand, putting their other matter aside completely.

The two women circled each other, each preparing for a hard strike from one another…

...which caused an idea to pop in Melody’s head.

Slowly approaching the Super Kitty, to not raise her suspicion too much, but to make it obvious that she had an idea in mind, Melody would lunge at her opponent once there was less than half a meter between them. Kat would likely attempt to catch Melody, or attempt a counter strike...but whatever it was, Melody would anticipate it, ducking under whatever Kat would try and throw at her to end up behind the Super Kitty.

Once Kat would try to turn around and face Melody, the Greenette would already do a backwards flip, with her foot aimed for Kat’s head for a Pele Kick!

=================================================

Kat had gone into this match up feeling she was prepared, or at least, as prepared as she needed to be. But Melody’s escape had sparked within her, the first instance in which Katherine doubted that notion. Was she taking the green clad wrestler too lightly? Kat had considered this as Melody approached her. Having prepared to block a strike, The Super Kitty was caught off guard by Serperior’s careful approach followed by the abrupt ducking past her person.

This movement struck Kat as something uncharacteristic of Melody. She thought to herself that maybe she should have watched a Melody match or two as she turned around the face Serperior. But after turning a full 180 degrees, Kat was hit in the head with a Pele Kick! Melody’s foot bounced off Katherine’s skull and sent her reeling backwards several steps before falling onto her butt. Kat used one hand to hold the spot where she was kicked as she closed her eyes and tried to find her bearings. Kat growled as she tried to stand up, hopefully before Melody could follow up!

“Grrrrr….!”

Kat seemed to be on the receiving end for now, but she tried to remain vigilant.

=================================================

The kick found it’s mark, the audience reacting with a loud pop towards the impressive move as Melody tried to quickly get herself back to her feet, catching a glance of Kat falling onto her butt, shaking her head, and holding the hurt spot on her face as she tried to recover from the move as quickly as she could!

Melody would be onto Kat within a nick of time, however. Right as the woman attempted to get to her feet, Melody took for the ropes, colliding back-first with them to get more momentum, rushing right back at the Super Kitty, before jumping in the air, aiming both her feet at the rising Luchadora’s sizable bust for a solid dropkick!

=================================================
Melody wasted no time taking the opportunity to quicken the pace of the match up. When Kat had been doing what she could to shake off the effects of the Pele Kick, the green clad wrestler darts for the ropes on the opposite side of the ring! Melody picked up speed after bouncing off the ropes. Katherine only had seconds after noticing that her foe was coming at her with a full head of steam. The masked woman would scoot back slightly on her way up to her feet. Her lower body would touch the ropes behind her, giving her an idea.

When Melody leap up off the ground, Katherine would fall to her side, grabbing hold of the middle rope as she went down! She’d create a gap for her opponent to jump through, facilitating a rough flight and a harsh landing to the outside of the ring if Melody committed to the dropkick! If her counter was successful, Katherine would take a second to find her way to her feet. She’d look towards Melody and contemplate pursuing her on the outside of the ring. This would take her a second. But after that contemplation, she’d adjust her mask, wait for the woman to rise, and gesture to her with her arms to come back inside the ring!

In a different type of match, against a different type of opponent, Katherine wouldn’t have hesitated to meet them outside of the ring. But with Melody, she’d risk the chance of the bout becoming brutal through the use of weaponry. Thus, she attempted to bring the fight back to where it was most advantageous for the technical wrestler - inside the ring!

=================================================
As Kat dropped to the ground, a simple “shit…” went through Melody’s mind.

When Kat grasped the middle rope, pulling it down, that thought changed to: “OH FUCK!!!”

Her momentum carrying her through, Melody flew outside the ring against her will, landing on the barely padded ground of ringside with her rear end!

She hissed in pain. Whether this was a better or worse predicament than if she landed on her chest and stomach or even her back, she didn’t know.

All she knew was her ass hurt like hell.

“God...damnit…”, the rough landing she had was bad enough, but as she got to her feet, hand firmly on her hurting hip, she heard loud laughter in the audience, angering her quite a fair bit as she looked to the inside of the ring, Kat staying and persuading Melody to get back inside rather than following Melody. Was she afraid of something at the inside? In all fairness, since the ground outside was much harder than the slightly spring-y canvas of the ring, it would make it much easier for her to knock the Super Kitty out here, like she did with Anzu…

...on the other hand, maybe it didn’t matter. Kat DID KO Navi outside the ring with the Bow and Arrow there, remembering how Melody helplessly watched her friend being choked out by the woman while trapped by Kat’s manager…
Suddenly, Melody’s anxiety from earlier came rushing back, as she glanced at the underside of the ring. The match was fairly even, but Kat was likely more full of energy than she was...maybe she could take out a chair or a table to help herself…

“No”, Melody thought, shaking her head. “I can do it...I know I can...I have to”, she said to herself, carefully climbing back in, her eyes not leaving Kat, even for a second, anticipating a surprise attack from the woman…

=================================================

She had only seconds to react, but The Super Kitty found a way to avoid Melody’s running dropkick. By dropping down and widening the gap between the ropes, The Super Kitty facilitated a nasty fall for her green glad foe. Melody went sailing to the outside of the ring, falling right onto her butt on the hard arena floor! Truthfully, it was a little funny. A gif of this spot observed out of context would probably make for a good laugh for fans later. But neither woman focused on that. After having resolved to stay in the ring, Katherine look towards Melody expectantly. After Serperior had gotten over her rear and tailbone pain, she, too, contemplated reaching for something under the ring apron before outright shaking her head and choosing to enter the ring.

Inside the ring, Kat would stand up straight and place a hand on her hip while commenting “You’re….not going for a weapon? You holding back on me, Mels?”. Naturally, she anticipated that Melody would double down on her decision, but for how long?

The leotard clad heavyweight made no effort to attack her foe as she entered the ring. As soon as Melody made it to her feet, Katherine would assume a wrestling stance again. She’d approach her green clad foe looking to lock up with her. Katherine sought to use her size and strength as a heavyweight to outmuscle Melody. She’d attempt to force the green haired woman towards a corner of the ring. If successful in doing this, Katherine would attempt to keep Melody in the corner using a couple of strikes. She’d start with a swift knee and follow up by using her hand to lift her foe’s chin a bit and open up her upper body before swinging at Serperior with her free hand and throwing her bodyweight forward to commit to a hard Lariat in the corner! Ultimately, if she got her, way, she’d pause for a moment before attempting to grab the backs of Melody’s thighs and lift her into a seated position on the top turnbuckle, seemingly prepping her for something big!

=================================================

Kat would shoot point blank with her question. In all honesty, she wanted to beat Kat no matter what it took, weapons included. Still, she couldn’t bring herself to have an advantage over the Super Kitty, in knowledge that she would refuse using them, even if opportunity presented itself.

As she expected, Kat did not attack her upon her return into the ring, the Luchadora assuming an offensive stance to prepare for her foe. However, almost immidiately as she did the same, Kat would aggressively zero in on her, forcing the lock up on to Melody!

Despite trying to release the grip, Kat’s was too strong...and of course, so was the force of her push, as she easily force the greenette into the corner. Attempting to get away would only yield a knee to her gut from Kat, before she followed it up with a hard Lariat!

With her stomach and head hurting, Kat would easily get Melody up onto the turnbuckle, the dazed girl unable to predict what her foe was going to do…

=================================================

Despite the fact that she didn’t opt to attack Melody as the green haired wrestler was entering the ring, Katherine had no intention of letting her foe off easy. Kat had considered herself to be a respectful fighter, but not an underhanded one. When Serperior got up, The Super Kitty made every effort to take it to her. She used her size and strength advantages to force Serperior into the corner of the ring! And she followed up with a couple of stiff strikes to keep her there!

Being the veteran that she was, Katherine hadn’t done this without a plan. She wasn’t the type of wrestler to commit to a move or tactic without some sort of end goal in mind. After stunning the green clad woman momentarily with a Lariat in the corner, Katherine began to lift her onto the top turnbuckle. Once her opponent was perched there in a seated position, the busty purple clad woman would grab each of Melody’s feet and attempt to get them over the rope, facilitating the chance to climb even higher! Kat would reach for Melody’s head and attempt to jump up and headbutt her to keep her stunned!

“RRAH!” Hart would cry if her skull successfully rammed into her opponent’s own!

Should her attacks continue to be effective, Katherine intended to make the most of her momentum. She’d climb up to the middle turnbuckle, putting both herself and her opponent in a precarious situation! The ropes of the ring would shake a bit as the feline themed wrestler continued her efforts at a seemingly big move.

“I don’t wanna hear any regrets about you holding back, you got it, Mels!” The blonde would say as she followed her old rival’s best friend. The heavyweight Luchadora would reach for her foe’s head and attempt to tuck it beneath her armpit. She’d raise her free hand and point a the stadium ceiling before yelling to hype up the crowd and herself: “Are You Ready?!”

Hart would then reach for Serperior’s side and attempt to lift her up high off of the top turnbuckle before jumping back in an effort to thrust Melody headfirst into the canvas with an Avalanche Brainbuster! If all went according to plan, Katherine would roll to the closest corner and sit up against the bottom turnbuckle. She’d let out deep breaths, confident about having hit a move capable of ending this contest before things could get particularly brutal.

“That….should do it…Phew!” She’d say as the ring ropes vibrated abit from the residual impact of the Avalanche move. At this point, Katherine would look down as she continued to recuperate and think through how she’d go about things in the next round of the tourney. The referee would move in and begin to do her job and count towards a declaration of a KO, and Katherine would use the ropes to pull herself up to her feet early on to avoid technicalities and ending things in a draw.

=================================================

“Guuuuuh….”, Melody would let out, slightly dazed after her foe’s Lariat. All her senses were telling her to snap out of it and fight back against Kat. In a match like this, resting on the top ropes like that wasn’t just risky, it was deadly as well. A concussion was the best thing that could happen when one’s head is spiked into the canvas from the distance from the top turnbuckle onto the canvas…

As Kat tucked her feet behind the ropes, and climbed the turnbuckle to prepare for her attack, the greenette was prepared to fight back, balling her hand into a fist, trying to aim it at the Super Kitty’s face…

Only for her arm not to reach as Kat’s forehead slammed into her own for a hard headbutt!

Her mind and senses completely scrambled, Melody started seeing triples of the Luchadora, not even hearing a word of what she was saying…

And sadly, that meant any potential planning for a reversal was out of the question…

Kat would get Melody’s head under her arm, and lift the greenette into the air, causing the majority of the fans to think the Super Kitty was going for a simple Superplex…

...no...what Kat had in mind was far more suitable for a match such as this...and much more devastating, as she would hold Melody’s head for the entirety of the way, slamming her skull first into the canvas of the ring for an Avalanche Brainbuster!!!

“WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH!!!!”

Melody dropped to the mat, her body completely limp, as Kat sat up, confident that the greenette was done, along with all of the crowd…

...slowly, but surely, the count went up to 4...and then:

“FIIIIIIVE!”

This was the first of the current count Melody had heard from the ref.

Her vision turned from blackness, to blurriness, to eventual clearness, as the count went up to “SEVEEEEEEN!!!”

Her body started moving on her own, on instinct, as she pressed the palms of her hands into the canvas, pushing herself to a sit as the count went up to “EEEEEEEIGHT!”

She pushed herself up even further, and somehow, managed to get up on her feet, right before the referee was about to let out the penultimate count!!!

The crowd let their surprise known by an incredibly loud pop, as Melody tried to keep balanced on her feet, and try to find Kat before she reacted to her opponent being up!

=================================================

Katherine did everything she felt she needed to. It all felt right. After getting perched up on the top rope, she followed through and spiked the green haired middleweight’s head into the canvas, silencing her with an Avalanche Brainbuster that echoed through the stadium! The crowd reaction was ubiquitous. Official and commentator alike would gasp and laud The Super Kitty for her execution on the move. Kat, herself would roll towards one of the bottom turnbuckles before gathering her wits. It was rare for Katherine to find herself engaging in anything reminiscent of a premature victory celebration. By the count of three, she was already working her way up to her feet, muttering to herself about being thankful that this match didn’t have to last too long. She’d drone on for a moment before turning her head towards a downed Melody who, somehow - some way, wasn’t completely limp or out of it.

“Woo! She’d a tough cookie. Those strikes were definitely something...I wanna thank her for the match, but...that might upset her. I know it would upset her...friend??”

Hart finished with a puzzled tone. The referee had just declared an eight count when Serperior pushed herself up to a sitting position. The crowd roared wildly upon seeing Melody’s sheer will to go on. And those cheers persisted as Kat’s eyes widened and she doubled back. Kat would step back and grab the ropes with one hand. It would like she saw a ghost in the woman across from her in the ring. Clearly something rattled the heavyweight blonde. Though it was easy to fall into the notion that she was just caught off guard by Melody’s resilience. After a couple seconds, Kat would shake her head in an attempt to get a grip. She’d tremble slightly, thinking back to her first round match with Susanna Kin, her interview regarding the match with LAW interviewer Elena Vandersteen, even her match way back with Navi. With wide eyes and a slightly shaky voice, the Luchadora would step towards Melody and plead with her.

“Melody, I...um….” Kat would say before balling her fists and turning her head away from her foe. The referee had just backed away, leaving the two women to continue before she went on.

“I hurt my first round opponent. I put her in the hospital when I didn’t mean to. I hurt Navi. I put her in a hospital bed when I lost sight of myself...I DON’T want to injure my opponents to beat them! I DON’T want to injure you….Stay. Down.”

Katherine’s internal struggle with the idea that she had hurt some of the women she had been in the ring with finally culminated in this short, impassioned speech. Indeed, she had avoided hospitalizing any of her previous opponents before coming to Japan to wrestle. It was far from the right place or time, but it was something that the masked woman felt compelled to voice and get off her chest. Whether or not Melody was having any of it, though, that was a different story….

=================================================

At Kat addressing her, Melody turned at Kat, as her senses finally came back to her, and instead of 3 transparent Super Kitty’s, she saw one purple suit clad Luchadora.

As she shook her head, trying to get the rest of the cobwebs out of her head, and trying to tough it out through the massive headache in her head...which she hoped wasn’t a concussion from that big a move from Kat…

As she listened to Kat speak, explaining that she hurt people she didn’t really mean to, small part of her actually sympathized with the Super Kitty…

But, the Greenette herself went through countless humiliations in LAW courtesy of various opponents, in addition to losing out in 2 tourneys already...she was not going to let this chance slide her by, especially not when someone she didn’t exactly have a positive opinion about anymore asked her to. Besides, she was still driven by her original goal, to prove to herself she could beat Kat...to prove that she could protect Navi if the moment arose:

“Sorry to hear that you don’t want to do that, Kat...but, between you and me...in a match like this…”, Melody would start, before taking off at Kat, jumping in the air, trying to nail her foot with the side of the Luchadora’s head for a surprise Enzuigiri!

“...I would rather die before losing...”, she would finish, pushing herself upwards to her feet after executing her attack.

=================================================

Consumed with remorse and regret, Katherine demanded- no,- pleaded with Melody not to escalate the intensity of this match past the point of no return. She wanted to avoid every accidentally injuring another woman in the ring again. As always, Hart was very transparent with her intentions. After laying it out all out there for Melody, and affording her middleweight foe the opportunity to respond, Melody did just that. With a sudden, jarring, hard Enziguri kick to the head, Serperior floored The Super Kitty, ensuring in a combination of gasps and cheers from the audience in Korakuen Hall!

Kat went down onto her side. She closed her eyes and winced while holding the side of her head. Having suffered the stiff blow unguarded, Melody began to turn the tides by bringing down and stunning the blonde. To make matters even worse, the green haired woman drove home her lack of remorse by asserting that she’d rather lose her life before losing the match, a point that drove despair and sadness into Kat’s Hart. With a pained, sad tone, Kat could only fumble over her words, failing to offer a proper response.

“N-no! Melody...I…”

=================================================

Her strike connected, and audience of the Koraken Hall gasped at the attack. As Melody quickly tried making her way back to her feet, she could here some outright boos in her direction for the out of nowhere attack...but she gave them little matter, holding a cold gaze at the downed Super Kitty.

She grabbed Kat by the fur of her mask to look the woman in the eye: “”No” what?! You knew what you fucking signed up for in this tourney. I bled out for a better fucking payday than usual, what did you expect me to do in a tourney such as this?! What did you expect me to do in a match against you, you selfish cunt?!”, she screamed in Super Kitty’s face, breathing heavily before gritting her teeth. She was getting more and more angry by the second, and her eyes were starting to well up, as questions rose in her head as to why this match had to take place…

Trying to hold off her emotions, she tried to get the Super Kitty’s back up to her feet, trapping her head in a front facelock, before trying to get herself closer to the ropes. If successful, she would try and jump up onto the top rope with Kat’s head under her arm, and falling down on her spine, driving Kat’s head into the canvas with a Springboard Tornado DDT!

=================================================

With some quick offense and some extremely demoralizing words, Melody managed to make Kat’s resolve waver! While she laid on her side wondering what it was that had gotten into the green dynamo, overcome with a range of negative emotion, Melody figuratively and literally looked upon her!

Hart’s failed attempt at a meaningful response was immediately met with vitriol and beration! Melody would grab the fabric of Kat’s mask and pull the heavyweight’s head up to yell in her face and justify her actions. Kat stared into her foe’s eyes while still wearing an expression of pain and sadness. Her heart sank with Melody asserted that this was expected, especially against her. Katherine truly was naive for thinking they could keep the contest between them professional!

Melody pulled Kat up off the canvas with gusto before wrapping an arm around her head and setting her up. Serperior pulled the Super Kitty towards the ropes before before showing off some agility and wrestling prowess by making her way to the top rope and spinning to spike Kat’s head into the mat with a Springboard Tornado DDT! Kat would flip forwards after having her head bounced off the mat! She’d lie on her back limp for a moment, her large chest rising and sinking with each breath.

After a few seconds, Kat would place her hand on her forehead and wince. She didn’t know where Melody was, but she knew that she had to be close by. Still struggling with conflict, Kat could only think to utter the first words that came to mind.

“W-why...do you hate me…!? Melody?”

=================================================

“You want this to end quickly?”, Melody would ask Kat, as she herself got back to her feet after executing the move…

“...then stay down…!”, she would finish, right as Kat, as point blank as she could, shot a question at Melody…

A lot of things came to greenette’s head as an answer:

“You tried to kill my best friend”

“You are still a threat to her, when she sees you”

“You are better than me”

“I don’t think I’ll be able to stop her or you if you fight again…”

All of that and more almost escaped Melody’s mouth...but she kept silent, trembling with rage…

The ref attempted to count Kat out for the contest, but would stop the moment Melody would grab Kat’s mask, drag her towards the edge of the ring, sliding out of it and yanking the Super Kitty from underneath the bottom with her, but not before giving one hard slam to the woman’s head into the apron!

The crowd booed Melody’s actions as she slammed the fan favorite heavyweights head into the apron of the ring, giving the fans a scornful look, before scouting the underside of the ring, hopefully with Kat still dazed from her slam, quickly grabbing 2 things: A kendo stick and a chair, opening the fold up chair behind her, unintentionally giving Kat time to recover...though she doubted somewhat that given time would be enough for her to fully get to her feet…

=================================================

The tone of the match had changed to one that was unsettling and ominous. Everything about Melody’s body language and composure communicated that the green clad middleweight took issue with her foe. As Katherine lost herself for a moment in the despair of the situation, Melody apprehended her. The green haired woman grabbed Kat by the fabric of her luchadora mask and dragged her forcefully towards the edge of the ring!

Serperior would pull her heavyweight foe outside of the ring quickly before grabbing hold of her by her mask yet again and bashing her head against the hard apron of the ring! Katherine would groan in pain and recoil before falling to her hands an knees. The thoughts that raced through Katherine’s mind, aside from the pain, of course juxtaposed Melody’s. Though Katherine would choose to be more vocal about them if given the opportunity.

“There was a time where I thought we were friends.”

“How naive was I for thinking we could still be friends?”

“It took everything I had to try and forgive and….I never thought I’d see you again but why….why did I ever let myself think that you’d forgive me, too?!”

Katherine would look up. She’d squint her eyes and assume a stance on all fours with a frown on her face. The purple clad heavyweight would channel her feline gimmick for just a second before leaping into action. She aimed to pounce on Melody while her foe’s back was still turned. If she had her way, Hart would show off impressive agility by leaping towards Melody from behind, and, in one quick motion, grabbing Serperior by her green hair and ramming it into the seat of the steel chair with a Bulldog!

If Kat’s move connected, the audience would immediately change their tone from antagonistic jeers to cheers in favor of The Super Kitty. Kat would land on her plump rear and sit for a moment beside Melody to further recuperate from the quick succession of harsh moves and strikes that she had suffered at Melody’s hand for the past minute or so. All while vocalizing the things she didn’t want to get into - the tougher topics - their history. In tone that could only be described as a sad, pained frustration, Kat would grab the green haired woman by the fabric of her top and ask her.

“Do you have any idea, ANY IDEA how hard it was for me ask you to be professional?! For me to forgive you!!! Melody! You injured my friend! You interfered in my match- my career! And even after all that, I asked to bury the hatchet! Twice now!”

“Not once have I hit you in anger! Do you know how hard that is for me?!”

Kat could feel herself welling up. She was darn near on the verge of tears. Her blue eyes would meet Melody’s red ones as she tried to vent to Melody with no filter!

=================================================

As Melody set up the chair, she was breathing heavily. Her head hurt, and it’s inside was filled with thoughts that further weighed down on her. She tried to find it in her to justify herself right now, to justify that the jeering crowd was wrong, that they barely knew any story between Melody, Kat, Navi, and Kat’s manager Mina...but was failing to do so, with Kat only reacting to the hurt that Navi...and herself had inflicted on the Luchadora…And Kat tried to apologize and move past that, even if the 2 of them could never truly be friends…

...why couldn’t she do the same? Was she seriously so paranoid and untrusting of others to believe Kat?

Right as she contemplated that, and right as she turned to her opponent to finish her for good, she felt someone’s hand on the back of her head roughly pulling her down, ramming it straight into the set up steel chair below, the reaction of the fans swiftly turning to cheers for the purple clad Super Kitty!

Her thoughts were scrambled once more, but as Kat took a minute to recover, a lot of them came to light...particularly the negative ones, berating her for being wrong, criticizing her for her actions in the last minute. As a bit more clarity came to her head, Kat grabbed Melody’s sports bra, yanking her up to her feet, before asking her in a painful tone…

“I don’t...need your forgiveness…”, Melody would say, trying to ram her knee right between Kat’s legs!

Re: LWS 2017 Round 2 - Melody Serperior V. Katherine Hart

Unread post by Noob »

Kat spoke out to her foe from the heart, clinging on to some distant, futile hope that the dissonance and conflict born from their misunderstandings and circumstances could be overcome. While Hart was a seasoned pro, she couldn’t force herself to cut ties so easily, not right now, anyways. She looked at Melody with desperation, eager to get some sort of response from the middleweight. And sure enough, a rebuttal did come, in the form of a swift knee to the groin!

“UGH!” The luchadora would groan sharply and painfully as her eyes dilated in response to the sudden, unguarded cheap shot! Katherine would sink to her knees before placing her hands on her hurt crotch and bowing her head. She’d remain there for a few seconds before falling to her side.

In her pained position, it occurred to her immediately that this pain felt familiar. Too familiar….and it didn’t take long to find out why. Navi had done the same to Katherine. The arrogant upstart had low-blowed her multiple times in their previous match back at AFW. Perhaps it was fated that Melody had done the same to Katherine, now. Perhaps this was the trigger for the wake up call Kat needed to finally come to the realization that Melody choose her side a very long time ago. There was no forgiveness. There were no amends. Melody was always going try to destroy The Super Kitty, even after having wronged her. It was just a matter of the right time and place.

=================================================

Melody would pause for a moment, seeing Kat’s hands quickly go between her legs on instinct from the pain in her crotch, before falling onto her side, much to the disappointment from the fans. She felt that, after tonight, she would have much much less twitter followers than she had previously...and quite a few angry messages sent to her all across the board from the fans of Super Kitty…

Those thoughts slipped to the back of her mind as she approached Kat, grabbing the woman by her blonde locks to force her to her feet. She would send one more, hard knee to her crotch!

“Don’t get any ideas...just stay down, Kat.”, she would say in a cold voice, before shoving her head under her arm. Grabbing the Super Kitty by the leg hole of her suit, she would lift the heavyweight off her feet, grunting over having to lift a woman quite larger than she usually fought, before spinning her in midair, and bringing her head down right on the edge of the steel chair for the Impaler DDT!

=================================================

Kat didn’t have time to consider why Melody seemed to be behaving differently than usual, or why it was that her fans or pro wrestling fans in general would be turning on en masses following this match. Right now the green-ette was a clear and present danger, out to dismantle her by any means she could muster. And that meant serious trouble for Kat!

Melody would reach down to seize Katherine by the hair yet again. She’d force the purple clad heavyweight up to her feet before hitting her with yet another knee between the legs! It was the second consecutive Low Blow! And it forced Hart to double over and groan in pain.

“AUGH!”

“Just stay down.” she said. “I would rather die before losing to you” Melody had said. Those thoughts echoed through Kat’s mind as Melody tried once again to end her. And sure enough, Serperior committed herself to doing so. She’d tuck Kat’s head under her arm and reach for the fabric of her leotard. Melody positioned the two near the chair before pulling on the fabric of Kat’s attire and lifting her lower body off the ground to spike her head into the corner edge of the seat of the steel chair! The fans in the front row would gasp and shriek upon seeing the move hit! The chair would collapse onto the ground with its edge severely bent!

Kat would lie on the ground, prone and motionless. The match very well may have been over right now! As everyone in the stadium continued to sort through the escalating emotions of fear, concern, and tension, the referee would begin to make her way outside the ring. Kat looked bad, really bad. But not bad enough for the official to rule it as a TKO without counting. After a couple seconds of sizing up Kat, the ref would begin to make a count. And the first few counts seemed to elicit exactly zero response from the hurt, floored Super Kitty!

“1……..! 2……..! 3……..! 4……..!”

If left uninterrupted, Kat would begin to make small movements at the count of 5. By the count of 7, she’d make it to all fours, seemingly ready to pop up to her feet! Fans throughout the arena would roar as Hart showed that she wasn't done. The blonde would begin to nod vigorously and enthusiastically to show that this wasn’t over! Not yet!

=================================================

Upon executing the move, the greenette staggered back towards the ring, propping herself up with the ring apron to avoid falling down. Her muscles hurt in the aftermaths of lifting the heavyweight, even as little as she did, in midair…

Her head was also still killing her...though she knew that what she did to Kat’s thick skull had to have hurt the woman even more...the count was agonizingly slow. She couldn’t even tell if those were actual seconds, or if the ref was intentionally lengthening the count. Her gut feeling was letting her know that Kat wasn’t done yet…

And, sure enough, at the 5th count, she saw faint movements in Super Kitty’s arms…

At count of 7 she made it to her hands and knees.

“Shit...FUCK!”, the greenette angrily screamed. Kat was going to be on her feet before the count of 10…

...which meant to the greenette that she needed to put her down for good...with another, much stronger move…

Kat’s head was positioned above the chair as she rose up. Once she was fully up to her feet, Melody would attempt to jump up into the air, her arms encircling around Kat’s masked head, attempting to drive it once more into the unfolded chair with her Leaf Blade, to put the Super Kitty down for good!

=================================================

Once again Katherine found herself dazed and forced into the situation of needing to beat the count in order to stay in this match up. And once again, Melody looked to capitalize by attacking the masked heavyweight before the referee had even properly dismissed the count!

Kat’s vision was hazy as she began to rise. The stadium lights seemed to reflect off everything. The roars of the crowd, the count from the ref, every sound seemed to mix into this cacophonous blend of discord. Kat looked out of it. Between the counts of 7 and 8, she’d work her way up to one knee. Her blue eyes seemed to rattle as she tried to look straight. But then Kat saw her: Melody, ready to resume her attack, ready to put her down for good. And her focus on her opponent was all she needed to recenter her focus! Seemingly, all at once, Katherine’s senses would return to her! Her eyes met on Melody’s just before Serperior had jumped up and committed to her Leaf Blade finisher! The crowd would roar as this defining moment of the match began to play out!

Melody’s shoulder would meet Hart’s jaw! Her feet left the ground. Her arm wrapped around Kat’s head for a three-quarters Facelock! She seemed fully prepped to drive The Super Kitty’s head into the chair once more and end this match once and for all! And in that brief moment where Melody jumped into Kat, Katherine would use the momentum from her jump against her! The luchadora would bring both her hands up! She’d press one up against her green clad foe’s back and the other up against Melody’s backside! Kat would tense her arm muscles and summon her strength to use the momentum from Melody’s jump against her! She’d lift the woman upside down and overhead! Kat would take a second to stabilize herself if she were able to pull it off and stop Melody in midair!

Kat’s reversal wouldn’t end there, however! The blonde heavyweight would keep Melody airborne for a second and turn towards the crowd. She’d jostle Serperior and ensure that she was positioned correctly, with her posterior bent towards the stadium ceiling. Hart would let out a loud battle cry before jumping up and spreading her legs. She’d pull down on Melody’s upper body with one hand and push down on Melody’s backside with the over in an attempt to force her green haired skull between her legs and into the hard arena floor with Steiner Screwdriver Piledriver!

“HHRRRRAAAAAAA!!!!”

=================================================

Everything worked as Melody planned it to. She jumped in the air, got her hands around her opponent’s head...surely, Melody didn’t need to do anything, as gravity would do it’s work, and drive Kat’s head onto the chair with the force of Melody’s fall...right?

“...?!”

Gravity, however, wouldn’t get the memo, as Melody suddenly felt herself floating in midair…

...or rather, caught in midair, by the powerful Luchadora!

Suddenly, she would be lifted further up by Kat’s massive strength! From her jumping into the air, not even 2 seconds later, she would be further up in the air, Kat hauling her up into an upside down position!

Melody entire aching mind went into panic! She couldn’t counter, and couldn’t escape of the possible suplex the Super Kitty had in mind!

...except a simple suplex wasn’t what Kat had in mind in a match like this at all…

The greenette wouldn’t even let out a scream as her head was driven into the floor with a massive force of a Screwdriver, her limbs lifelessly dropping on the floor, and her eyes would be glazed over...barely absorbing the light of the arena hitting them. To an outsider looking in, the greenette was truly out!

=================================================

With her sudden reversal, The Super Kitty was able to catch the lean, green woman by surprise! It didn’t take Katherine much time at all to set Melody up and adjust before hitting her with a possibly match ending Piledriver! The audience roared as they saw Melody get laid out! Kat panted heavily as Serprior’s limbs fell down lifelessly. The masked woman would begin to work her way up to her feet, and as she did, the official approached. Kat would nod to the woman to begin the count before returning her attention to her ember eyed foe. Even while she was in this state, possibly only semi-conscious, the bitterness Melody had towards Kat could be felt in the arena atmosphere. Kat looked down as the official began counting.

“I’m not gonna tell you to stay down, Mels.”
“1…..!”

“2…..!”

“I’m not gonna attack you while the ref is counting….”

“3…..!”

Katherine would ball her fists. The seasoned pro could feel it. Melody was not done. Her drive to win. Her drive to beat Kat went beyond this. It went beyond anything the luchadora felt comfortable doing in order to put Melody down for the count and in. At least, that’s the feeling Melody gave her. That’s the mindset she was in. And if Katherine wanted to overcome, if she wanted to advance in this tourney without sinking to that level, she’d have to find another way. And with impeccable timing, in this moment, she believed that she had.

“4…..!”

“5…..!”

“NO ONE IS GOING TO DIE, TONIGHT, MELODY!”

“No one is going to get injured, either….I didn’t enter this tournament to hurt you - to try and end you….so please, get up….get up so that we can finish this my way.””

Kat finished her sentence with a tear in her eye. Her fist would tremble for a short moment and the rest of her body would follow suit as she exclaimed. The blonde heavyweight would close her eyes and exhale to ease her composure and find her center. In truth, she didn’t know for a fact if things would work out the way she said, with neither of them ending up having to take an extended leave, or even worse - retire early. But the blue eyed wrestler clung to her vow to then end this on her own terms. She held fast to those beliefs.

All that was left now was for Kat to make good on them….or get knocked out trying…..

=================================================

As blackness took over the greenette’s vision, she could only feel 2 things: her splitting skullache, and a muffled voice, explaining something to her...and someone counting up…

“THREE!”

She harshly blinked at the scream of the count from the ref, regaining a bit of feeling in her hand, as ref counted upwards...and as Kat spoke to her…

She wanted to get up to her feet, and knock the Luchadora’s daylights out...but as the count approached six, she only somewhat got the feeling back in her legs…

Cringing in pain, and shaking her head, Melody tried to fight through, however. She pushed herself upwards to a sit, and carefully up to her legs, barely beating the ref’s count at 9!

Silently, the greenette would eye the blonde with her angry gaze…

...and, with no warning whatsoever, would spin on her left leg, and aim the heel of her foot into Kat’s jaw, looking to knock the Super Kitty out with a Spinning Heel Kick!!!

=================================================

Katherine continued standing over Melody with her fist clenched. The busty blonde didn’t move a muscle. She continued to wear a serious expression on her face as Melody began to come to and force herself up to beat the count. The green-ette showed grit and resolve. If nothing else, it was almost admirable how committed Serperior was to making good on her words and carrying out her own form of retribution against The Super Kitty.

Fans clamored in anticipation as Melody steadied herself and found her footing. It was a close call - the closest one this match! But the green clad dynamo beat the count by getting up at 9, all while fixating on her opponent. Melody’s red eyes would meet Katherine’s blue ones for just a moment. The official would cease the count and, seemingly out of nowhere, Melody would strike! The middleweight spun rapidly, getting a full rotation in before swinging her leg upwards and aiming for Katherine’s jaw!

Her speed was impressive, especially for an opponent that was significantly worn down. Kat would look at her with a stern as she wound up. Perhaps it was fortune or perhaps it was coincidence that Melody opted for that kick. Hart had been using it as a signature move in her arsenal for years. Despite the sudden motion, her reflexes and familiarity with the move allowed her to react quickly and raise her forearm towards the side of her head to block! Kat would then transition quickly and grab hold of that leg with both hands before aiming a side kick at the back of Melody’s standing leg! She’d attempt to take the woman down the hard arena floor before banding down to secure both her legs! If Katherine’s reversal proved to be successful, she’d pull Melody by the legs to bring her closer and announce her intention to see this through while handing her foe’s legs and bending them before placing the soles of her boots on the backs of Serperior’s knees!

“This ends now, Melody!” Hart would declare before pressing her shins against her opponent’s feet and reaching forward to seize Melody’s arms! If Kat was able to make good on her plans, the blonde would pull back on Melody’s upper body, bending it as she began to hoist the ember eyed, green clad girl up and overhead for a Romero Special!

=================================================

“GASP”

There was no way, she thought. There was no way Kat could counter her attack, and no way it would miss. Whether it would leave the Super Kitty down, she didn’t know...and now, she would never find out, as Kat would successfully block the kick with her forearm.

With a massive sense of urgency, she tried to pull her leg back...only for her to feel a hard impact at her standing left leg, losing her balance, and dropping to the floor outside of the ring!

The sudden rush of energy she had after standing up was gone. She couldn’t even prop herself up to her knees, as she couldn’t muster enough strength to get herself up…

...and Kat wasn’t going to let her do that.

Her heart filled with dread as she felt her being bended to be secured around Kat’s...that in itself wasn’t painful…

...it was that she knew what was coming. With how tired she was, she couldn’t even move her hands away fast enough from Kat…

She gulped as Kat would roll on her back, lifting the greenette up into the air, pulling on her arms and legs with a Romero Special!

“GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! STOP IT! STOP IT!!!”

This was the first time she experienced the hold in a non-training environment...and it was as painful as she imagined it to be.

It felt as if her spine was getting stretched till it breaks…

And even worse, even if Melody had energy to spare to counter, there was simply no way out of the hold. The only thing a victim of the hold could hope to happen is that the one applying the hold would get tired, and drop her…

...Melody’s luck that she was one of the lighter Middleweights facing off against one of the strongest heavyweights.

If she could shout that she quit, she would’ve, with reckless abandon...but it would’ve been useless...she had to be Knocked Out for the torture to end…

=================================================

Kat went to work fully applying her hold. Indeed it was one of the more intricate ones in her arsenal and one of the more inaccessible holds for most pro wrestlers in general. But when it was done successfully, The Romero Special wasn’t something to be taken lightly.

The way The Super Kitty had secured the hold left Melody with few options. She’d bend the green-ette’s spine at a severe angle out of habit. Katherine would one to indulge in her opponent’s pain. She simply aimed to try and force submissions out of opponents sooner rather than later. This situation was different, however. Katherine didn’t want to string Melody out until she had no more left to give and passed out from the pain or exhaustion. No, the luchadora had a plan. And as soon as she heard Melody’s pleas for her to stop, she’d be reminded of it!

“Grrr” Katherine groaned more so out of frustration than animosity. She didn’t enjoy hurting Serperior. Even after everything that her and her friend but Katherine through….

Kat took a breath before trying her next move. Without warning, she’d cast her arms aside and allow Melody’s upper body to fall towards her own. She counted on the sudden transition catching her pained for by surprise. If it did, Kat would catch Melody by one of her shoulders, placing a hand on it to keep the middleweight steady whilst still keeping Serperior’s legs tied up and interlocked with her own. Kat would try to keep Melody in place so that she could wrap an arm over and around the Green-ette’s neck to further add to the complexity and perilousness of her old and place Melody in a Romero/Dragon Sleeper combo hold!

If successful in securing the move, commentators and fans alike would remark on the level of effort Katherine put into the hold. She’d begin to tighten her bicep and grasp on Melody’s neck and strain herself to really begin putting her foe away! Kat would keep both part of the hold locked in with as much intensity as she could muster, closing her eyes and baring her teeth as she tried to neutralize Melody and put her away, all without allowing either of them to wrestle each other into injury or retirement!

“You can hate me later. You can never wanna see me again, fine. But right now! Go to sleep!” Katherine commanded.

At the first signs of fading from Serperior, Hart would prompt the referee!

“Check her arm! I don’t wanna do this longer than I have to!”

=================================================

About 20 seconds into the hold, Kat would release Melody’s arms...that was weird. Was the Luchadora actually going to let her escape the hold? Or was she too tired to keep it up?

A moment later, the greenette would find out that it was neither of these things. Instead, what Katherine Hart had in mind was much...much worse for her, as she would get her bicep around Melody’s neck, harshly pressing into it as she went for Romero Dragon Sleeper!

Her eyes shot wide open. She wanted to scream, to let out a massive number of curses to Kat’s address for the hold...but, opening her mouth, she only got a choking sound out.

She felt her brain starved of oxygen...as well as the flow of air being cut off to her lungs. She desperately tried to pull Kat’s bicep away from her neck, tried aiming elbow shots to the side of Super Kitty’s head!

...but all for nought. Kat’s arm wasn’t so much as bulging, and her elbow attacks were not even dazing the blonde in any meaningful way. She felt a drop of water going down her cheek, thinking it to be her own sweat...not knowing that tears went down her eyes. Deep down, she realized: “This...is over...I lost...I failed…”

Her arms got weaker and weaker, until they simply, limply fell down, and her eyes shut close. At Kat’s request, the ref checked the greenette’s arm, to see if she was truly out:

It fell once

It fell twice…

...and it fell one last time.

“SHE IS OUT! RING THE BELL!”

DING DING DING!

=================================================

Even with her opponent incapacitated, Kat could feel Melody’s disdain - her raw emotion. Melody didn’t like anything about this, about Kat. The bell had rung, signalling her defeat and The Super Kitty’s victory. This emotional rollercoaster of a match had come to an end, but even now Kat could tell that there was no real closure.

As soon as Melody’s arm fell for the third time and the call was made, Kat would undo the hold. She’d allow her green clad foe’s body to fall on top of her own. Kat would rise to a seated position and then a standing one while inquiring. “Medics! Can we get a medic, she needs help!”

When the officials arrived to collect Melody, Katherine assisted them in placing her on a stretcher to be taken to the back. She’d look on with her head held high. The Super Kitty lasted tonight against a woman that had intentions to end her. The audience would cheer Kat’s empathetic display. Kat looked on as Melody was taken away. She was conflicted, but she smiled for the audience and waved. Every part of her realized that the hatchet wasn’t buried, and sad as it is, when it came to Serperior and Kat, it might never be. Someday, Melody may very well try to do to her what she did to Kat’s manager, Mina. And until that day or until their next meeting, Katherine Hart needed to watch her back….
