Starboy was really starting to dig the LAW management.
Or then, the LAW management was really starting to dig him. Either way, the feeling was seemingly growing mutual.
Frankly, when joining LAW, the young rookie wrestler presenting himself as Starboy had been far from sure of whether there would be draw and demand for a fighter like him in the league. Relatively inexperienced, pretty small in size, not that strong, yet seemingly determined and brave, and aspiring to present himself as a superhero with a mission to defeat all villains inside the ring? Was that going to sell?
Apparently, it was. At least, based on the fact that the management had actually proposed him this match tonight. A mission to find an assassin's lair, and capture her in her own dungeon? What could have been neater! This kind of match was so, so perfectly right up his alley, that is was almost impossible for him to contain his excitement. Both for the sheer exhilaration... But also for the suspense of not knowing exactly what laid ahead of him. How was the battleground going to be like? How was the assassin herself going to be like? So many unknowns... But that was how it also should have been. Venturing bravely into any potential dangers in the quest for good surely belonged as a part of everyday life of a true hero!
Entering the basement, Starboy had to take a moment to take in his surroundings and accustom his eyes to the comparative darkness of the corridor in front of him, after the heavy door behind him had clung shut. The game was on. It was all to play for. And the only thing he knew was that he had to find a
red sash, that would be his key to the victory. Now, where it was, how was it going to be like, what would he have to do to get hold if it... Those were all elements he would have to navigate himself. He was embarking on an adventure, the outcome of which remained a great mystery. And the only way to get closer to finding out was starting to stroll stoically down the corridor.
A peculiar detail was that all the side doors leading to various rooms, or chambers, seemed to had been left open. Naturally, the hero's mission included inspecting what was in all of them. The first one seemed pretty dark and empty, with some peculiar ribbons left hanging by the opening, apparently as decoration. Nothing to be found there, the hero then proceeded towards the second one - before suddenly tripping and falling onto his all fours! "
Agh!" Glancing backwards, Starboy quickly realized that he had stumbled on a tripwire! While it was a bit embarrassing, the fact that there were indeed such things present was pumping his excitement level even higher up again. So there were traps here as well - so cool! Luckily, no one got to witness his little tripping... Or that's what the hero thought for a second or two, before realizing that there obviously were little red dots at regular intervals by the walls, and that a camera was zooming right in on him to expose his condition for everyone.
Getting back up to his two feet, Starboy's progress was markedly more careful from now on. Still feeling the need to inspect what was to be found behind each door, the hero certainly got a marked feeling that he was a visitor who had been expected. Which, considering the context, of course he was, but the hallway had clearly been set up with his arrival in mind. He certainly got tangled in the ribbons and taken aback by a sudden mirror a couple of times, while some other... "Decorations", that had been left waiting for him, were a bit more peculiar. Scented oils? Lavender flowers? And... Lingerie? Star couldn't help blushing a little. He had no idea of the assassin's nature, and if these were any clues to draw some ideas from... But he certainly hoped that he could keep their battle from slipping into a naughtier direction.
Finally, the Lonely Superhero spotted a door, that seemed to actually be almost closed... With some faint light emanating from its narrow opening. Creeping closer, the heroic wrestler carefully opened it up and peeked inside, immediately realizing that he had found the assassin's lair now. Seeing no one, the hero stepped fully inside... Only to get overwhelmed a bit by everything that he was seeing. The room certainly looked like a real dungeon, which brought a sense of danger... While the wrestling mats in the middle invited for a hard, sweaty battle. The edges of the dungeon seemed to be lined with some stuff, that Star couldn't really make out well in the candlelight, while the prized red sash was very clearly placed laying right in the middle.
The hero took another step forward, once again trying to scan even more carefully the dungeon around him. Where was the assassin? Taking a sudden glance behind his back towards the door to see if she was there, only to find no one, Star took another step forward to get even better view of his surroundings. He still couldn't see anyone... But this setup also reeked of a trap. Surely,
someone wanted him to go for the red sash... But what was going to happen then? Was he supposed to take the sash with him, and start looking for the villainess from somewhere else? Or was gaining hold of the sash going to be the trigger for some kind of battle?
Either way, he couldn't just stand there and wait. There was only one way to find out, and thus, the hero started taking steps towards the red sash, with the full intention of gaining ownership of it.
