Slumber Party!

The sun shined through the window of the dorm room, illuminating the walls covered in posters, a mix of anime and rock bands. In the corner was a messy, unkempt bed, and on that bed was a messy, unkempt girl by the name of Sakura Tanahashi, strumming the strings of her unplugged electric guitar.

Sakura had been in the dorms for a few days now, and hadn't made many friends. When her neighbor, Meiyun Lai, offered to introduce her to a couple of her friends, Saku leaped at the opportunity. And so the two of them made plans for a sleepover: Sakura would host it in her own dorm room, and Meiyun would invite some girls she knew.

On most days her floor would be covered in dirty laundry, maybe an empty McDonalds bag or two, but tonight, her room was nice and tidy, ready for guests! Inside her mini fridge were snacks galore. Noodles, cookies, and even pizza, which could be heated up in the microwave that sat atop the mini fridge.

She was excited for this, especially to hang out with Meiyun. And some of the things she thought about were... less than wholesome. Tonight she'd most likely see one of two things: Mei in a nightgown, which would be cute, or Mei in her underwear, which would be sexy. She blushed as she got into fantasizing. She pictured Mei cuddling up to her frightened as one of their classmates told a scary story, and she pictured them snuggling up next to each other, looking into each other's eyes and exchanging smiles as they both dozed off... She shook herself out of those thoughts. She had to be ready to make a good first impression on whoever walked through the door first!

Meiyun was practically bursting at the seams with excitement. As she stood in front of the door to Sakura's room, all she could think of was how she was taking the next step in her budding friendship with the newest trainee of the Young Lioness Program. Meiyun had met Sakura as soon as the first day she arrived, helping her unpack, and within minutes, the two of them were sure that they were about to become close friends. Sakura seemed just as happy to entertain that - and now she had invited her to a sleepover in her dorm room! Just hanging out more with Sakura felt like fun, and maybe she'd get to know her new friend a little better - thoughts that caused her to blush just a little at the thought of the two of them growing closer to each other, maybe even sharing a bed, drifting off to sleep in each other's arms...

She shook that thought out of her head. Sleepovers weren't about sleeping, she reminded herself - they were for drinking soda, playing video games all night, and having a good time with her friends! She took a step closer, knocking on the door - but even if Sakura wouldn't answer it right away, she would push it open soon after, knowing that the girl was a good enough friend not to mind.

"Heeeey, Saku!~" Meiyun cheered, walking into the room. She took a look around, seeing the setup, and her smile grew even wider at the thought - it looked like this party was going to be one to remember, with all the effort Sakura had put into it. "Wow, you really got everything, huh?" she said. In her hands, she carried a few carryout boxes, which she set down on a table. "I brought over some stuff from House of Lai, but I'm wondering if you need it now...sorry, maybe I should've asked first!"

Saku's head perked up as there was a knock at the door. She put her guitar on her bed, and got up, but before she could open the door, Meiyun had already let herself in. "Mei! H!" Sakura grinned, her cheeks already turning faintly pink in Meiyun's presence. "No, that's great! Your family's stuff is awesome!" She reaasured her friend, her mouth watering as she smelled the Chinese food.

She eyed Meiyun's loose, comfy looking outfit. "You look really cute, by the way!" The moment the words left her lips, Saku's face flushed red. "Erm, I mean, uh, not like that, uhh, like, you look good, uh-!" She stammered, before racing to change the subject. She opened the cabinet in her tv stand, pulling out a pile of Wii games. "So uhhh, what do you think we should play tonight? I got Mario Kart, Mario Party, Wii Sports, uhm-!"

"Aww, you really think so?" A blush came to Meiyun's face as she smiled even wider, hearing Sakura compliment her on her family's cooking. She was used to everyone finding it average, no matter how hard she tried to promote the restaurant, but she always knew that one day, House of Lai would rise to prominence as the number-one Chinese restaurant in all of Tokyo, with the strongest wrestler in the world to represent it! If Sakura already thought so, it meant she was well on their way! "I asked around the dorms and I got a few people who wanted to join in too, so I figured I might as well make sure we had plenty to go around..."

But then, Meiyun heard Sakura call her cute - and she blushed hard at the exact same moment the blonde did, leaning back from her. "Y-You think I'm-!?" she stammered, raising one of her loose sleeves up to cover her face. Was it really happening? She had to admit, Sakura was cute herself. As the two had begun pairing off more in their training, Meiyun had come to...appreciate the girl's company more. Something about working alongside her made her heart quicken, and when they'd gone through grappling drills together, there was always something that stirred in her, sending a tingle along her spine when she found her body pressed up close against Sakura's own, feeling each contour of her form and each move she made as they guided their limbs into place. But it was silly of her to think that Sakura would even be interested in her, she thought. She could never embarrass herself by asking if anything would come of it - but if this was any indication, perhaps there were things on Sakura's mind after all...

No, Meiyun told herself, there was no way that could be true. That was just wishful thinking on her part. She must have just thought her outfit was cute; there was no need to read anything into it. Clearing her throat, Mei took a step back, lowering her arm, though her face was still a bright red and she smiled awkwardly back at Sakura. She had given an opportunity to change the subject, and she might as well hop on it.

"Oh, hm-! Heh...you know, if we played Wii Sports I bet I could beat you at boxing!~" she punched at the air a few times, with an eager grin on her face, already settling back into the mood. "I think for any game with a lot of players, it'd be more fun if we waited for the others to show up...oh, do you have Smash Bros?"

With one compliment, the atmosphere in the room had gone completely tense. Both girils now blushed a bright shade of red. It was clear something was kindling between the two of them, and yet they both remained oblivious to the other's feelings. Sakura faced away from Meiyum as her heart pounded. For about four seconds now, they'd been in silence. The blonde scrambled to change the subject, quickly showing Meiyun the video games she had available for tonight's fun.

Hearing Mei's little challenge, Saku grinned, snatching the girl in a headlock. "Ya think so? Thems fightin' words, girl~!" She laughed, ruffling Mei's hair a bit before letting her go. "Huh? Oh, yeah!" Saku said, rummaging through the pile before pulling out Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. "Folks can say it's the worst game in the series all they want, but it was my first fighting game and I love it." She declared.

Reimu walked along the hallway of the dorm. Dressed as if she just got up from bed, black tanktop and white shorts combo. In one hand, she carried a shopping bag filled with bags of chips and some soda bottles. Her eyes glued down to her phone on her other hand. Tapping lightly on the screen as she plays some gacha game before heading out to this sleepover party that one of the Young Lionesses had set out. Coincidentally, her room was close with where the sleepover would be. She guessed that she should try to get along with some of the girls here, mostly because she don't really hang out much. The party would be a good chance for her to bond with them.

Her eyes widened out as she saw her gacha roll result on her screen. "UWA!" She shrieked out in joy as she tapped on to see the detailed result. "UWAAA!!! PAA-SAN!!!" She cried out in joy. Standing right in front of the room, probably alarming the girls inside. "Eh?" She then noticed where she is, quickly knocking on the door before opening it and greeted Sakura and Meiyun inside with a smile. "Aaaa, gomen gomen!" She bowed lightly as she entered the room, realizing that she might be alarming them from the way she just suddenly let out a really loud noise. "I just got myself a really cool guy in this gacha game, he's an SSR and really handsome at it too!" She showed her phone screen to both Sakura and Meiyun in excitement as she walked herself into the room.

"Anyway, mind if I join the party? I brought chips and soda here. Just in case we ran out of food and drinks that is." Reimu added on as she raised the shopping bag up slightly. "So, um... What are we doing now?" She asked curiously, glancing over to Sakura who had a copy of SSB Brawl on her hand. "We playing Smash? I'm in."

The awkward atmosphere in the room had dissipated as Sakura talked about the games she had ready for the party, and thank goodness it had. If things went on like they were, Saku might have been tempted to do something crazy, like telling Meiyun how she felt. Right as she was going to put the CD in, a loud shriek caused to jump a good foot off the ground, nearly dropping the disk. She looked at Mei. "The hell?" Before her friend could answer, there was a knock at the door. "Uh, come in!" She invited as Reimu opened the door.

Reimu explained her shriek, and Saku nodded. She understood well enough. She had her fair of moments where she got a bit over excited about a game or tv show herself. When the girl showed the game in question, Saku's eyed opened a little wider with interest. "What's that game called? It looks cool." She asked.

"Oh-! Course ya can! The names Sakura Tanahashi, but you can call me Saku. God knows there are too many Sakuras in the world." She quipped, offering Reimu a fist bump. She grinned as the girl asked what they were doing now. "Yup! I was just about to whip Mei here's ass, but I bet I can handle two~!" She teased. Starting the game, she'd plop down on her bed with a gamecube controller, choosing Sonic as her character.

When she realized what she'd just said, Meiyun froze, her cheeks flushing a vivid red. Fortunately enough for the two girls, the awkward silence would be broken by the topic of video games. At once, they were back to laughing and joking around with one another, as though nothing had ever happened. Meiyun laughed even louder as Sakura scratched at the back of her head, crying out "Ah, hey, quit it-! I'll get you good for this one!" But sure enough, Sakura produced a copy of Smash Bros. to kick off the first game of the night, and Meiyun all but dove down to her knees to take her place at her side, nestling herself among the blankets and pillows scattered over the bed.

"Listen, no one wants to move past Melee anyway, so who cares what they think?" she said, picking up the controller. "But...we can agree that no one's allowed to use Meta Knight, right?"

Before Sakura could even load the game, however, they heard a scream coming from the outside - something that caused Mei to yelp and jump onto her classmate, squeezing her tightly. When she realized where she had landed, she blushed, staring back at Sakura blankly for a brief moment before letting go. "Uh...I didn't mean to-!"

Fortunately, once again there was an easy distraction at hand to help her forget that ever happened - namely, Reimu entering the room. Meiyun turned around to wave to her, but when she heard her news, she jumped up with a gasp, running over to get behind her and peer over her shoulder.

"Really!? Where? I wanna s-OH MY GOD, HIM?!" she said as soon as she saw the screen. "I've been trying to pull for him all week! I hear his route is really good, too, and-" Once again realizing mid-sentence that her enthusiasm had gotten the better of her, Mei broke away and cleared her throat.

"Uh...sorry about that. But yeah, we're playing Smash! We just started, if you wanna come join us!" The girl flopped back onto the bed, causing it to shake as she landed, and picked up the controller, selecting Pikachu from the character select screen before she pat the side of the bed for Reimu to join in.

Reimu laughed and smiled as the other girls showed their enthusiasm and interest to her gacha game pull. "I know right? Best thing is I don't even have to put money into the game to pull him!" Reimu let out as she set the bag and shut her phone screen next. Putting it aside as she then guessed that she don't want to be that girl with her phone in the party.

"Of course I'm in!" She let out as she picked up the controller and sat on the bed beside Meiyun. "So... Since it's Brawl, no Meta Knight allowed right?" She asked while she hovered over some of the characters. "I normally played Meta Knight in Ultimate though, but Brawl Meta Knight is pretty busted." She continued as she puts the cursor over to Bowser and selects him. "So you all ready to get slammed out of stage?" Reimu then taunted and giggled right after that. A little gaming trash talk wouldn't hurt at all right?

Sakura plopped down on the bed next to Meiyun, causing it to bounce once again. She'd scoot in close to her friend until their shoulders were almost touching, wanting to be close to her. She'd grin at Reimu's trash talk. "Tch, yeah? I'm gonna make both a' you hate this game." She'd tease.

Sakura would play a very fast paced style, fitting for Sonic. She'd go for a hit and run strategy, alternating between targeting Meiyun and Reimu. Soon, she finds herself at a disadvantage against Mei, so she decides to have a little fun, bumping her shoulder into her friend's in an attempt to mess her up!
