Finally A Parent (for FreshBritishSalmon)

Kennedy lifted a heavy cardboard box into the slightly bigger apartment of her now daughter, Emily Strager-Lee. Well, the surprise here is Kennedy actually filed paperwork to adopt Emily as her own so it will be made official now. Kennedy got her name printed on a separate birth certificate for Emily and there has been an acknowledgment between Kennedy and the adoption agency that Kennedy is Emily’s official mother now. She hid those papers inside one of the boxes as it seems Kennedy was making the move from Chris Yukine’s apartment into Emily’s apartment. At least just until Kennedy could find a house in Tokyo for them to live close by.

Kennedy had also brought over her animals as Phillip the Jaguar laid down in a circle licking his paws. Rodrigo the Scarlet McCaw was on the television looking around at his new surroundings and fluttering his feathers occasionally. Bobo the baby monkey hopped on Kennedy’s back and started digging inside her hair as Kennedy started getting out some books of hers. She wore a grey tank top with a flowery pink sports bra underneath and skinny jeans with black Nike sneakers on.

Emily wasn't sure what to make of it when her new mother insisted on moving in with her so soon after the two had met. Granted, they were unofficial mother and daughter now, but this still felt a little too quick. Nevertheless, she was happy to have someone else to live with, as she had been alone for the past couple of years after her parents passed away.

She helped her new mother with her belongings, moving all her clothes into the spare room, which she cleared out especially for someone to move in with her, though the fact she came over with animals gave her food for thought. She hoped Kennedy wouldn't expect her to feed them, as she had no idea how to deal with wild animals.

One by one, the boxes came in, and she was thankful that she had cleared out, as there was a lot to unpack. She had to clear out 2 days in her schedule just to help her move in.

Kennedy had taken some of the cardboard boxes setting them on the floor of the spare room. She smiled as Emily helped her along and she ruffled her daughter’s head pulling her in with a satisfying side hug. It was crazy to think it was this early to move in, but Kennedy really needed to get out of Chris’s cramped apartment. Nearly a year in there made her claustrophobic.

“I know it’s a little quick to the bill to move me in here, but I needed at least a reprieve from my last place. My rockstar roommate doesn’t have the biggest place for me and my babies,” Kennedy explained.

Emily could understand. She used to live in a cramped apartment before she got moved to LAW, where she got an apartment which was remarkably large for 1 woman. She nodded at Kennedy before smiling as she hugged her.

"Oh, I can understand. I am just happy that I have someone with me. I get somewhat lonely in here, with just me and my training." Emily said, remembering the days of her tirelessly trying to improve her skills, with the Hentai Championship belt still being her main target.

Phillip got up stretching his legs and giving a hearty yawn before making his way over to the two ladies. He pawed at his mother to give him attention as Kennedy knelt down giving her baby jaguar a chest rub and an affectionate kiss on the cheek. It had been some time that Phillip was left in Kennedy's care and that was a few years ago when the rainforest burned down causing the death of Phillip's mother, Mawa. He was just a little cub and Kennedy couldn't just leave him to survive on his own. Kennedy had people babysat him when she was on the road, but she took less indie dates in order to be home more and give him a good life. Phillip turned to Emily, his new human sister, as Phillip smelled her hands getting a sense of her scent.

Emily looked at Phillip who wanted to get a good smell of her. She smiled at him and let him sniff her, even holding her hand out to him to show that she meant no harm to him. Emily had always wanted a pet, but she was expecting a cat or a dog, or maybe a hamster. Certainly not a panther. But she didn't mind. If Phillip would accept her into the family without mauling her to bits, then Emily would care for him too.

"Never thought I would have a pet panther" Emily said as Phillip continued to use his nose to examine her. She decided not to move in case Phillip got hostile, but in her heart, she knew Phillip would be happy with her. If Kennedy got into his heart, and with them now being family, she shouldn't have an issue bonding with her new wild roommates.

“Don’t be afraid of him. He was just a baby when I adopted him so he only knows what I taught him. Since he hasn’t been in the jungle much, he’s doesn’t have much of a predator’s appetite so he’s just a giant house cat. He’s not even territorial. Phillip only knows to bite into his breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Not people,” Kennedy stated as she patted her pet on the head.

Bobo the monkey ran up to Emily and studied her as he took one of her hands shaking it excitingly.

"Ah, okay. Thats very reassuring!" Emily says, giving Phillip a rub under the chin to show affection as Bobo comes up to her to introduce himself. Emily giggled and shook his hand in a friendly way, trying to make friends with the animals as soon as she can. She wondered if she could entice Rodrigo over too, so raised the hand that was rubbing Philip and put her finger up to act as a perch for him to fly onto, if he wished.

"They certainly are a charming bunch. Hopefully they know not to interrupt our free time and training." Emily said, enjoying every second with her new friends and her mother.

Rodrigo squawked to himself as he noticed Emily holding out a finger to perch on. He squawked a second time taking flight flapping his wings every millisecond he could. Rodrigo ended up on Emily’s finger looking around the place as Kennedy let Bobo climb her back and led Phillip away to give Emily space with the bird. Rodrigo could be a stubborn little guy, but he seems to be getting used to this place if he flew to Kennedy’s daughter this quickly. Mostly, he would just be doing his own thing.

“That was quick. He’s usually not too thrilled about people he doesn’t know. Well, he’s stubborn on purpose,” Kennedy joked.

Emily giggled softly at Kennedy's joke about Rodrigo's stubbornness before looking back at the bird, who was looking at his surroundings, clearly intrigued by what was around him. He obviously seemed fine with Emily too, as he had come to her on his own accord and hadn't flown off since, which made Emilybfeel a little warm inside.

"Well, I didn't know I had a thing for animals, certainly not ones like these. But I am not complaining, especially as they are yours mom" Emily smiled, as she watched Bobo hop onto her mothers shoulder. "I do want to ask though, why did you want to suddenly move in with me? I'm not complaining, of course, we are deey connected now, but isn't this a little, sudden?" Emily asked, a little suspicious about how quickly Kennedy wanted to move in with her. Was there sonething she wasn't telling the blonde?
