"You always were a bit messy," Marine hugged her and came in. "But this is another level. If mère et père saw this-" Marine put down her bags of groceries and opened the fridge. "And to no one's surprise, junk. Here. I brought better food. And wine from home." Marine began clearing the fridge out of all the food she, like the supermodel she was, did not approve of, which was most of it. Alanna cringed at a lot of Emma's takeout and leftovers being thrown out but perked up upon hearing she'd be having French wine though.
"This is an odd selection of food you have here. Can't say I've ever seen you eat ramen before. So much ramen." she cringed.
Alanna laughed nervously. "Yes, well, things have changed, Marine. Lots to talk about."
Marine finished organizing the fridge and began cooking lunch which, given the weather was getting colder, was a classic Potage Parmentier (potato leek) soup. "I saw your match last week. Looked rough. Cette salope got lucky in the end there with that counter. You should have had her."
"You watched it?" Alanna asked, brightening up with excitement
"Of course I did," she smiled. The rest of the family might hate watch a little bit but certainly won't admit it. I think they act surprised when I tell them of your exploits," the two giggled. Alanna yawned and felt a nap coming on. "Why don't you go lie down? I'll wake you when the soup's ready." Alanna went to bed while Marine was filling the pot with all the ingredients.
