An Interview With Sunshine (Feat. Alix Jacques and Gabriella Soto)

Unread post by DSX93 »

Alix Jacques walked through the door leading inside Mama Pollard's -- a family-owned restaurant. She'd known the head and her family for years, having dated her son back when the two were in high school. The relationship had ended at the college stage as many do when separated by long distances, but it was an amicable split.

Javonte was a doctor now, happily wed to a beautiful wife, with whom he had a beautiful daughter. Baby number two and a surprise third were on the way. She was happy for them.

Alix was clad in all black with the exception of her jewelry: A low cut dress that was slit in the sides and worn over a see-through top that offered a nice view of her ample cleavage, a leather choker around her neck that was decorated with a beautiful silver brooch holding a heart of ruby that matched her lipstick, thigh-high stockings, and a simple, yet pretty pair of leather slip-ons.

"Hi, Mrs. Pollard!"

The gothic beauty called out to the older woman as she was walking away from an occupied table, most likely to get started on an order. And with a big smile that shined as brightly as the sun on a summer day, she practically frolicked over to greet her with a hug that was as warm as its rays.

"How are you?"

"I'm blessed, girlie. How you doin'?"

Mrs. Pollard looked her over when the two separated, giving her a conspiratorial grin.

"This ain't just an interview, is it?"

"It is, but hopefully, it won't stay that way. This woman is FINE."

"I see you! Got your table ready and waiting on you. Get it, Sunshine!"

Alix responded with a giggle.

"I'm gonna try!"

And with that, she headed over to the private corner that she'd called to reserve a few days ahead of time. Today, she was going to meet up with a fellow competitor named Gabriella Soto to conduct an interview she asked for after a few tidbits of her sexual adventures came up in a conversation that the two had online. Along with her familiarity with the people running it and the food they serve, she had also chosen this place because it was a peaceful setting all-around, with prices that wouldn't break the bank should her company-to-be feel uncomfortable with her picking up the check.

Alix took a seat and waited. Hopefully, she'd be able to find another adventure in the smoking hot Latina.

Was it weird that Gabriella felt more excited about this meetup than a wrestling match? Probably. It probably fit the definition of sad, too.

Ultimately, it was probably because the excitement-to-nerves ratio sat much more comfortably in her favor for a restaurant meetup versus a match in front of millions, so she could forgive herself. With her notebook in hand and a pen doing cartwheels through her fingers, the half-Latin beauty sped up her gait as she neared the place Alix Jacques had indicated they could meet. She didn't know a thing about Mama Pollard's except the name sounded homey, but then, she didn't know a thing about much with her move to the area so recent. Talking Alicia into showing her around would probably be a wise move...once she finally told her that she had shown up to join LAW, too. Assembling her confidence for that discussion remained a work-in-progress, even though their mama had likely already spilled the beans.

Eh, that didn't matter today. Wiping other thoughts from her mind, the aspiring novelist opened the door and squinted as her eyes adjusted to the room. Maybe she should stop putting off glasses. It would not take her much to find Alix, she imagined: the woman stood out in all of her pictures. Really stood out. Like, red carpet stood out, and Gabby knew a bit about the red carpet since she lived so close to Hollywood back home. Still, it took her a few seconds and an uncertain trot deeper into the restaurant until she saw the woman in the corner. Gabby threw up two fingers to announce herself and hurried over.

She had gotten into conversation with Alix at random in one of LAW's member chat rooms, and thinking the idea of someone who started in porn getting into wrestling was the coolest thing and worthy of writing about, she had asked to speak with the woman in person to chronicle her transition. Gabby knew, uh, a little about porn. She didn't like all of it, but a girl had to do her research somewhere when most of her romance ended in that trombone sound they played after a bad joke. Frankly, Alix had been so nice, there were just...things she wanted to know and write down and maybe use in a short story or book later. And Alix hadn't been weird about it.

A bit of nerviness did hit her as she reached the table, however, and she saw the woman's good looks in person and realized this conversation would probably be very candid. Trying to shake it off, she cleared her throat and extended her hand when she reached the table, a shy smile on her face. "Hey, Alix? It's Gabby! Which you could...probably guess since I waltzed right up to you."

Wow.

WOW.

If there was ever a moment where real life should turn into a movie for just a minute -- start moving in slow motion with a soft tune playing in the background, maybe something by Sade -- Gabriella's walk-in would be the one.

Alix wasn't a very religious woman, standing in the middle of that scale with a slight lean: The existence or non-existence of deities felt like something that would most likely be confirmed only after one's time was up, but she did believe that there was a force, or forces out there that were responsible for the creation of this world and shaping it into what it is today.

And speaking of shapes, that being or those beings had certainly taken their time when they made Gabriella. The pictures were one thing, but seeing her up close, especially in that pretty dress...

And she had the most adorable smile to boot!

Alix shook her hand, greeting her with a bright, friendly smile.

"Oh, I recognized you right away, Gabby."

She shook the hand that was offered and held onto it for just a little bit longer than normal. A little something to test the waters.

"Please, have a seat. Get comfy."

She gestured to the table as she spoke, waiting for her interviewer to do so before sitting back down herself.

"How are you today?"

God, Gabby had met a few movie stars in her time helping out with her mom's gardening business back home, and that same nervous excitement was coursing through her veins now. It perhaps shouldn't have since Alix was, in some way, her peer, but seeing the woman's good looks and style up close made her almost feel like she was meeting royalty. Getting to do so in such a cordial setting where they would sit and talk twisted that feeling into something even stranger, and Gabby had to send herself a fishing line to reel her thoughts back in as she shook Alix's hand. Don't make it weird. She may have said that aloud to herself a couple of times in the cab. The driver had definitely peered at her through the rearview mirror.

A nervous laugh did accompany her response to Alix's mention of recognizing her and shaking her hand. "Did I look that lost?", she asked, mostly rhetorically. Mostly.

Her natural social clock ticked a couple of times, and Gabby started to lean back and take her hand back so Alix wouldn't feel uncomfortable. But the other woman's grip never abated. Trying her darndest to keep the entirety of her composure and seem more social butterfly than butterflies in the stomach, Gabby's only outward reaction was to smile a little deeper and blink a couple of times. Internally, though, her hand felt a bit, uh, on fire, the same as her spine. Right. Porn star handshake.

In the next breath, Alix invited her to sit down, and after a thanks, Gabby perhaps did so too eagerly. Quietly clearing her throat, she promptly went into journalist mode, already pouring through to an empty page in the notebook that fell open in front of her. "Great, thanks to your wanting to do this. It's good to meet you in person, too." Gabby might have done her best word on the written page, but a chat room didn't seem the place to talk about this kind of stuff. "How about you? Have you eaten?"

Alix shook her head at Gabriella's first question, realizing that her nerves had blinded her to that first hint.

"Oh, no. You stand out, Gabby. In a good way."

The subtle approach still felt best here. They were meeting in a place of her choosing to discuss her sexual escapades, and the Latina's demeanor thus far had painted the impression of a woman who generally didn't get down like she did.

Which had only added to her appeal, really.

"You didn't have too much trouble finding the place, did you?" She began with a genuinely apologetic tone and sheepish countenance. "I apologize if you did. I know it's a little out of the way."

Alix gauged the other woman's reaction during the lengthier than normal handshake, watching for any signs that pointed to that having gotten through.

Aaaaand it didn't look like it. Of course, there was the possibility that Gabriella wasn't into girls, or that if she were, she simply wasn't her type. Which would suck, but oh well.

Alix sat down and waited patiently for her questions. She had to make an effort to not only keep herself from laughing when she asked her if she'd eaten, but to keep the impulse from showing up on her face entirely, lest she mistake it for Alix laughing at her. Which she would've been, but in a "aww, that's adorable" way, rather than "damn, you suck".

She wasn't so rude as to suggest a restaurant as a meet-up place, arrange a private spot for them to talk ahead of time, and then show up with a full belly.

"Nope. I came here with a craving for one of Mama Pollard's nice, juicy burgers."

She punctuated the statement with a rubbing of her stomach.

"Which I totally recommend, by the way."

She stood out. In a good way.

Maybe Gabby should mark it as the way that all the good porn stars talked to people, but hearing it said by someone who looked like that still left a mark on the half-Latin writer and ushered in a couple of mildly distracting stomach cartwheels. Quite a few of the characters in her stories had swooned from quite a few attractive, kind people saying quite a few of the same lines. Whether she should put stock in it or not, she didn't know, but she did feel like she should probably say something as she brushed the wavy part of her bang back. "Well, thanks. I guess that's saying something coming from-" The words that filled her mind about Alix's being a super sexy, alluring, striking, any compliment in the dictionary sort of woman she didn't have the guts to utter, so she just gestured at Alix. That would, uh, definitely do the trick.

But, right. No getting hot under the collar. Maybe she should have worn a collar instead of her sundress. She tended to have blushes go all the way to her chest.

Fortunately, Alix's next words did not draw attention to Gabby's looks, and the Californian, poring through her notebook, had a chance to reset. "Oh, no, I found it pretty easily. I tend to like places that are a little out of the way." She probably could have explained that was because she lived in one of the most populated places known worldwide for its glitz and glamour (even if she was not on the glitz and glamour sections), but that seemed too much about her and not enough focused on the woman she meant to interview.

Okay, good, no eating yet. Gabby was good at hiding any nerves she felt behind nibbling at her food; many awkward dates in high school had taught her the technique. "Good!," she said, as she finally hit the page titled "Alix Notes <3" and stuck her pen in the notebook to hold the spot. "Maybe you order something for both of us then and we can talk while we eat? I can ask you the interview questions when we finish, since that would just get in the way of eating."

Was she...

Aww, she was blushing!

That pause, although short, didn't go unnoticed either. Whatever descriptor or descriptors Gabriella had in mind, she was too scared to say, which made Alix want to hear them more.

She found it a little curious that Gabriella had stated that she found Mama Pollard's easily, when just moments ago she asked if she appeared to be lost. An attempt at looking more sagacious than she was with directions? It was no biggie, however, so she didn't pay it much mind. She did note her preference for out of the way places, though.

And she liked the idea of them chatting before getting to the questions that were prepared for her.

"That sounds great."

Although she was sure that said questions would lead to some fun conversation...

"I know I agreed to an interview and all, but I didn't want this to be all about me. I'd like to know more about you too."

She let that one hang for a bit before continuing.

"And with that said, two Pollard Deluxe Combos coming right up! What would you like to drink?"

"Eh."

Gabby sure didn't think anyone wanted to know about Gabby, but it was only fair, she guessed. "As long as you're not trying to write a piece about anything interesting I've ever done. All the readers would fall asleep after the third sentence." Part of the reason why she wanted this interview in the first place was to hear about all the neat experience of a unique, adventurous soul like Alix; her biggest adventure had been coming here. The Californian couldn't guess yet how well that would go; she might fall flat on her face. At least she could talk to some fascinating people in the meanwhile.

Ruminating on those thoughts, she had to mentally catch up when asked what she wanted to drink. The shortest panic wondering if she shouldn't seem adult-y and order something alcoholic (if they even had that here) crossed her mind before she realized that could be copyrighted as the world's worst idea for a lightweight trying to conduct an interview and needing to train later in the day. After a scratch of an eyebrow, she finally answered. "You know, if I'm splurging on a burger that has deluxe in the name...do they have good lemonade?", she asked, figuring she already knew the answer. This place probably had good everything if Alix spent her time here.

"No, nothing on the record; I'd just like to get to know you. Although, I've got the feeling that if I were to write anything down, you'd prove to be more interesting than you think you are."

And that wasn't just a line to butter her up. In Alix's experience, people like Gabriella were a slow burn. To others, maybe it would seem like there wasn't much to them at first glance because they're not all up in people's faces with things or just out there, but if one were to stick around long enough, get them comfortable, push the right buttons, and/or nudge them in the right direction, well...They could offer a wealth of things.

There was, of course, the potential for some freaky, passionate hanky-panky, or some of the sweetest lovemaking, but that wasn't all she wanted in life.

Deep, fresh perspectives, a strong safety net, and indeed, a safe space, things of that nature.

And as for the lemonade, Gabriella did indeed know the answer to her own question.

"Oh, they do, indeed! It's my beverage of choice, actually."

While Gabby did appreciate the compliment (even if it was perhaps unfounded), she did not care to voice aloud that the few interesting things, like her fairly secretive smut writing that had made her a decent amount of money over the years, she did not want becoming public knowledge. Primarily, she didn't want it becoming the knowledge of her mom. Or her sister. Or anyone she still communicated with from back home. Yeah, she might just leave those little secrets out for the time being, unless they somehow ended up benefitting her discussion with Alix. And considering Alix was a porn star, she supposed that could actually happen. Ultimately, she just chuckled it off. "I guess you're right. But if you can make a lot of what I've done in life sound interesting, I might have to recommend you as a writer for the magazine, too!"

She opened her mouth to say something more, that if Alix revealed any more talents to go along with her fascinating past and set of skills and her good looks and sense of style, that Gabby was going to end up drowning in her own jealousy. Again, however, that seemed far too intimidating of a thing to say being, ah, this close to someone with Alix's particular set of skills, and she reeled it in before she did. And she held it in until they ordered, mostly stealing glances at Alix and the room at large as they did.

Once her lemonade sat before her, in a cup the size of which she had never seen the like, Gabby took a long sip before she tried to push the conversation forward again. Her curiosity was threatening to strangle her after drinking in the woman's aura and style up close as she was. "So this didn't come up in the questions I wrote down since it struck me as personal, but, mmm..." What was the best way to word it? "How did you become you" seemed weird... "How do you, like, get into..." Welp, this was turning out to be a bad way to word it, too. But Gabby had come too far, and she rubbed nervously at her neck. "How do you start up with a career in..."

Her voice dropped to a whisper, like it was some grand secret they shared. "Porn? Do you..." Oh, shit, she just had to say it. "...like, audition?"
