Re: Now What? Satsuki & Yuki POW Aftermath

People needed to flirt with Yuki more often. She needed the experience. Which was a little surprising. Yuki Kazikura was a global celebrity since her last year in high school. Creepy fanboys didn't exactly count as "flirting" -- Satsuki had been around professional wrestling long enough to learn about those -- but there must have been some delusional third-year who thought they had a chance at the Dynamite Schoolgirl. But here she was. Flustered over one little word. One that straddled the line between patronizing and flirtatious, nonetheless. Just a little compliment and she was as red as her dress.

That was why when Yuki picked their next move, Satsuki was, quite frankly, a little stunned. All there was to do was blink, at least for a few seconds. Blink and stare and ask herself if Yuki really just asked that. Then she started to laugh. "My, oh my." She could barely get out the mock elegance through her little soju-giggles. "Who knew Yuki Kazikura was so bold?" Granted, Yuki had just kicked her ass not 24 hours prior, but you wouldn't know it the way her skin was inventing new shades of crimson. "Kidding. I thought you'd never ask. Dancing's just what you do around here... and trust me. Nobody's good at dancing."

Satsuki peered down from their perch. The club was a little more full tonight than normal; the throngs were thick as they pulsed and waved to the beat. She turned and offered her hand to Yuki. "Hope you don't mind if I take the lead for this one. Wouldn't want you to get lost. This ain't exactly a summer festival. Besides, if you're gonna take a girl dancing, you better get used to being close."

Oh, yes, Yuki had her fair share of admirers. It would be more surprising if she didn't - even before she came to LAW, everyone in her school learned they were classmates with one of the most talked-about rising stars on the independent wrestling scene. When she finally made the jump, and when she was going up against the champion, her fame could only skyrocket higher and higher. She had a spotlight on her like none other, and it would only be a matter of time before someone sought her out - but what time did she have for that? She was always flitting between her classes, the gym, and the arena. The only time she had to herself was the few minutes in between classes and at lunch, and she often had to catch up on sleep then. Even if anyone did find the time to approach her, it wasn't like Yuki could work a date into her schedule.

Not until now, at least. It was only now, thanks to the rules of her last match, that Yuki was finally able to step away from her hectic work life, to go out and have fun and live a little. And although she might have liked what she saw...she was hopelessly in over her head. When she had spent all those formative years of her life training for the ring, she hardly had the experience in something like this. Not in...asking someone to dance.

Fortunately for her, Satsuki was willing to be patient with her. Not that it made things any less embarrassing for Yuki when she teased her about it. Biting her lip, Yuki glanced left and right, not wanting to let her eyes linger on Satsuki. Her cheeks only flushed hotter, and she tugged anxiously at her collar. She reminded herself a moment later that they were in a private box and it wasn't like there was anyone to embarrass herself in front of, but the blush never quite left her cheeks. Although, when Satsuki pointed out that no one here was good at dancing, that made Yuki blink a couple of times. "Wait...really?" This place - this whole world - all seemed so exotic and different and enticing; it was like nothing she'd ever experienced before. Was it all so...mundane? If so, maybe she didn't need to feel so out of place after all...

Nevertheless, she sucked in a deep breath, then cleared her throat as she rose from her seat. She extended a hand to Satsuki, giving it a squeeze. "Yeah, uh...understood." She gulped. She really was going headlong into the unknown, and she was putting herself in Satsuki's hands. But if there was anyone Yuki would let guide her...she was sure she couldn't do much worse.

"L-Lead the way, then...I suppose..."

"Pedestrian" was not a word that often applied to Satsuki's life. Her normal was a series of extremes. The way Yuki gripped her hand, though, that felt like something out of a C-list movie. It gave her pause. Above ground was a gaggle of glad-handing well-to-dos hoping to be seen at Japan's newest status symbol. Down here was something different altogether. As defanged as the Yakuza were these days, it took a special kind of person to associate with them. It wasn't all peacoats and handshakes down here, and while watching the throng from above was one thing, jumping into it was another altogether.

But Yuki could handle herself if things got weird. She'd proven that much, at least. "No," Satsuki hummed with a smile, "I don't think you do understand. But that's alright. Not knowing where the night will take you is part of the fun." With that, she turned and led Yuki down the steel designer steps until they fell under the trancelike dome of the speakers. Synths and snares rattled their bones to the beat, washing out all but the closest words and an unintelligible din of hoots and hollers.

Unlike before, the crowd did not part for the Queen of Clubs. If they'd half a mind to notice her, maybe they might, but tonight, it seemed, there was no room for queens or champions. Everyone had an eye for the person in front of them and an ear only bent by the music cascading from on high. The deejay's thralls thrust and waved on a Technicolor floor. Satsuki bumped her way through, looking back to ensure that Yuki was still in tow, until they finally found a pocket in the chaotic sea.

Satsuki released her captor's hand. "I refuse to believe you don't have any moves whatsoever." She started to sway her hips with a smile, gauging Yuki up and down. "There's no way you can do the things you do in a ring and be totally helpless out here." Despite that, her own moves were barely on-rhythm. The halts and twists of her body drew all sorts of odd angles, and what wasn't antiquated seemed downright random at times. Even if Yuki hadn't done anything beyond a school dance before, one thing would be clear:

The Queen of Clubs was awful at dancing.

Yuki had to admit...Satsuki was right. She really didn't understand. The world she had been thrust into was so different compared to what she was used to - so strange, exotic, unfamiliar; dangerous perhaps, even, but enticing all the same - she could never really say that she truly knew anything about it. But for Satsuki, that was her life - to Satsuki, the peace and tranquility that Yuki knew so well was no doubt just as unfamiliar. As long as she had Satsuki, she had someone who could guide her through it; to make it a little less unfamiliar and a little more safe. At least, just for this one night. One night Yuki could flirt with danger, and not have to worry about not finding her way back. And, just maybe, flirt with other things, too.

"Uh...yeah. Yeah...I don't, really," she mumbled, blushing a little harder as she looked away out of embarrassment at how comically out of her element she must have seemed. But, with a gulp, she looked back up and followed after Satsuki. She wasn't really the kind of person to trust leaving things to chance - it was why she practiced such a methodical style in the ring and paid such close attention to her surroundings. But if Satsuki felt it would work...she could trust her, right?

When descending to the dance floor, Yuki was almost immediately beset by the blaring sounds and the flashing lights. At first, it made her wince - that atmosphere had always been hanging in the background when they were up in the balcony, of course, but now Yuki had plunged into it, and she was submerged in more lights and sounds and noise and color than she ever had in her life. And for a moment, it was overwhelming. For a moment, she grit her teeth, knowing how out of place she must have looked...but soon, she looked around and realized that no one was really going to notice, let alone care. Everyone was enthralled by the beat of the music, too much so to even look around them. Even if Satsuki was in charge here and everyone knew it, no one even seemed to pay her much heed. That made Yuki breathe a sigh of relief - even if she looked stupid, no one would really notice.

What also brought Yuki some relief was when she looked up at Satsuki...and saw that she wasn't much better herself.

"I'm...uh..." It seemed almost unbelievable. How could Satsuki Hayano - the Queen of Clubs, the Goddess Daikannon, who ruled this place and made it her kingdom; who knew the nightlife inside and out - be this bad at dancing? Yuki had never been much of a dancer herself, no, but she could almost be sure that she would do better than this. And that thought alone - that she might be better than Satsuki at something, especially down here - just felt wrong; too wrong for her to wrap her head around. She blinked a few times, staring blankly at her partner. No, this couldn't be right. She had to be better than this normally, right?

Sucking in a gulp, Yuki leaned forward and took Satsuki by the hands. There, she began to sway back and forth, kicking out her hips with each lean, letting the music guide her momentum. She took a few steps this way and that, stumbling a little but quickly righting herself regardless. Her hands squeezed a little tighter at Satsuki's own - and there she blushed; was she actually touching her? Holding hands with her? - but she kept the pace regardless. Her motions were rudimentary, and clearly untrained. It looked like she was just trying to follow along with what she imagined dancing looked like, because that was exactly what it was. And yet, she still knew that what Satsuki was doing wasn't really it.

"Uhh...you're sure you haven't had too much to drink, right?" she whispered. How could she say this without being too obvious about it...
