“I don't even want to imagine what it'll be like when everyone agrees to do something stupid, hehe, but as they say, madness finds its own reason over time.”

She said this as she sipped her beer, completely relaxed and calm, while listening to Sari's plan.

“They didn’t teach you wrong—a belt… It’s not really something everyone wants to strive for. Sooner or later you’ll get it, and someone else will take it away from you. More than a purpose… It’s a goal, but not a destination… Now, love—hehe—if that’s what you consider it, go ahead and fight for the tiger.”

She’d say, laughing, before thinking about love… And the alcohol probably made her think of that.

“You know? A while back, I wanted to be the queen… I didn’t want anyone to be above me as a fighter, and in a fight… They broke my arm, haha—it hurt like hell, and actually, if I move it the wrong way, it still cracks, but I also realized that... if you chase something too hard, that very thing might stop you.”

Jenny found it funny what Sari was telling her about the group of misfits she belonged to. And why lie? The silly things she did together with that bunch of weirdos on her team were really funny.

What she didn’t expect was for them to agree with her about the title after hearing her “plan for L.A.W.” Both Fausto and Ana, with their rants about championships and heels, managed to kill any interest she had in that title. Jenmy wasn’t telling the truth: it was just another goal, not a destiny, but that comment about love made Sari blush a little with embarrassment.

She finally finished her first beer, so she ordered a second round. And boy, was she going to need it: Jenny explained that at the height of her career, when she felt invincible, an arm injury brought down everything she’d built. Sari knew all about that. How many athletes she admired or knew had seen their careers cut short from one moment to the next? “Sometimes chasing a dream destroys you,” she said in a subdued tone as she looked at her bottle. “…but you’re passionate about it, and that’s why it’s worth fighting for them and making them come true,” she finished, flashing a small smile.

"I won't deny that, but sometimes chasing that dream or goal is something you can't overcome, and you won't be able to forget its consequences..."

Jennifer would say, taking a sip of her beer, before swallowing hard... and being somewhat honest.

"A few years ago, I lost my motivation. Even today, I sometimes feel it again. I'll tell you to be careful when you fight, because from one day to the next... you can feel like you've lost everything."

Jennifer would say, finishing and asking for another drink

At this point, Sari didn’t know if it was the alcohol or something else, but this conversation was getting more personal and touching on sensitive topics for both of them. But now she could only keep the conversation going. The ghost told her that sometimes goals and dreams are impossible to achieve, yet they leave an indelible mark. It was an uncomfortably true fact: sometimes you just can’t move past failure.

Jenny mentioned that, even though she sometimes felt like she was back on track, she’d already lost all motivation. This made Sari connect the dots and realize that perhaps that loss of motivation was why she’d turned to alcohol. Finally, she added that she worried when she fought because she could lose everything in one of those fights. “That’s why every time I fight, I fight as if it were my last fight. I live it to the extreme and give it my all... besides... I don’t have much to lose," she concluded before taking a big swig from the beer bottle.
