There it is. This move used to be a tried and true finisher. It still has the same impact. It still carries the same weight - so to speak. It's ended many matches in this exact position: the rival flat on her back, with Katsumi stretched dominantly over her body. The pin is unabashedly physical, unreserved in the amount of skin contact.

Hell. That's part of the point. To connect with the other person lying beneath her. To show dominance in a visceral way; her body lying atop theirs, corner to corner. She wants her presence felt thoroughly as much as she wants to feel her pinned opponent beneath her.

It's a rush. A euphoric high like nothing else.

The referee drops beside the pair. The hand raises and slaps the mat beside Catherine's head.

"ONE!"

Katsumi's head lifts to look out at the audience, devilishly confident smile presented to them. Catherine had absolutely roughed her up and gave her a Hell of a scare before at the edge of the ring. But tonight's her night. It's finally happening. After pushing so hard, so long, she's getting that critical step into the upper-echelons...

The hand slaps again.

"TWO!"

She can feel it. That burning sensation, the twisting in her stomach in eager anticipation. Nerves are firing off wildly, her heart racing. She shifts just a little against Catherine, her body brushing against hers in some vain effort to settle herself, but it doesn't help. It just re-emphasizes the woman lying pinned beneath her, which redoubles that eager, anxious feeling...

The hand raises.

Suddenly, Catherine bucks herself to get a shoulder up.

"UWAH!?"

Katsumi's full focus snaps back to Catherine, looking down at her face, then quickly to the referee for confirmation. But she's already waving two fingers about, signaling no fall. And Catherine hasn't stopped struggling, taking full advantage of the opportunity to shove Katsumi off of her and get her arms free.

Indeed, Katsumi tries to tail her, intent on doing some damage. But Catherine delivers a no-frills punch right into the soft cheek of the Punk Princess. Her vision briefly whites out again, then comes back in dazed spots.

The referee saw that. There are no DQ's. There'll be no fussing over striking with a closed fist tonight, not in this match.

Katsumi is left to wallow on her back, one hand setting to her cheek as she tries to focus through the new haze.
