Kate caught hold of her opponent and was not planning to let her go any time soon. She was still reeling from her prior offence, being on the receiving end of a beatdown most of this match, and she'd do anything to get them on even ground. As such, her opponent's panicked reaction was exactly what Kate needed, giving her a chance to further wrench the hold tight, rising her body up on her legs to put the weight of her body more directly on her opponent to add further pressure and drain the veteran as much as she could while she was in control!

Ryuko choked and gagged while her legs frantically kicked. There were no ropes. She reached up and pulled at Kate's grip knowing that if she couldn't power out she would soon be tapping out. Ryuko was desperate and pulling with everything she had but would it be enough? If not then the match outcome seemed to be written on the wall for everyone to see.

Ryuko howled and gave it her all trying to power her way to an escape, and if she couldn't? Then this would be quite a humiliating outcome.

Kate was squeezing with all her might, but the panicked reaction from Ryoko only lasted so long until she started to fight back. "Ghh... Just tap already!" She bellowed as she attempted to squeeze even tighter, only for the other woman's resistance to stop that, loosening her hold second by second until she broke free completely, making Kate roll off of her and slap the mat in frustration. She was close, and she knew that, but there was more fight in Ryuko yet, and now she'd get to her feet to face her again!

Ryuko had escaped and flopped down to the mat rolling away. She was embarrassed and humiliated at herself. She was being dominated now and she couldn't let that slide. She slapped the mat herself and stumbled up to her feet clearly hurting and in a way that wasn't going away anytime soon. She grit her teeth and moved in slowly at Kate before suddenly lunging the final two steps and extending her arm hoping to surprise Kate with a clothesline to knock her down hard to the mat. She knew this could work and topple Kate, it may not be enough to knock her down or even worse would be Kate dodging and countering leaving Ryuko looking to be outmatched entirely at this point in the match.

Kate was close; if she could have only kept the hold locked in a few more seconds, this would be over, but Ryuko was not easily bested. Her opponent completely dominated the beginning of the match, and though Kate managed to recover from it and go on the offensive from there, she still did not feel like she managed to bring things even. Every step cost her, the battered body resisting her motions, breath coming heavy. She was laying into her opponent but did not have the proper time to catch a breath.

And she would not get one now either, as Ryuko stopped towards her while Kate was getting up so that as soon as she turned, she was nearly beheaded by a clothesline from the other woman, sending her crashing hard to the ground and looking up at the lights as the breath she so desperately needed escaped her lungs again!
