A Tabloid Reality [for DSX]

Dinah had officially struck the "one too many drinks" marker, and she had struck it hard.

She peered down at her French 75 like it had betrayed her and that she wasn't well aware that having a second one would start to work on her mind. Dinah had always been able to handle her alcohol, but she also could become a bit... overly enthusiastic. And having not been in a social situation without someone to help her keep a schedule for some time, she was giving in to the little voice telling her to enjoy herself with at least a few more sips. She, of course, had lost her sense of any of that, simply thinking the drink had done something wrong but still at least cognizant enough to know it was affecting her.

She tried to resist another sip and instead rested her chin on her hand to take in the room. This place was incredible... well, except the currently awful singing going on in the corner of the cocktail bar. Karaoke had been a bad invention. The noise only added to the distracting buzz in her head, and she paused to rub at her temple before pushing the chatter and the music out. She wasn't going to let bad singing ruin her mood, even if she was getting tipsy.

Dinah might not have had a match at this strange LAW event, but she was invited because her presence made for good publicity. And she would not be declining the chance to come to a hotel like this one. She had been to plenty of great hotels, sure. But she could enjoy these three days with no one bothering her. She was here to talk, to schmooze, to flash a grin and wave at a few cameras, and to be a presence. She could do whatever she wanted, and no one needed her to do anything else.

It was fantastic. Productive and freeing all in one. As she watched an attractive couple walk by, she grinned to herself and turned back to the drink. Who was stopping her from having as much to drink as she wanted before going back to her room to crash for the night and waking up as late as she fucking wanted?

"Not a damn soul," she muttered to herself, as she took another long sip.
