$250,000 Gimmick Tournament

Post your pitch for an event here if you feel confident about your ability to run/drive your event idea yourself. You can engage moderators/staff if you need a dedicated subforum/section for your event to exist in, but outside of that, you will organize and schedule your event, yourself.
You do not need to post here in order to do your event. But posting here serves as a convenient point of reference for you to share your event ideas with others.

$250,000 Gimmick Tournament

Unread post by Dubski »

Hello everyone!

I'm going to be hosting a tournament where the character who wins gets $250,000! The catch is that every match will be some sort of gimmick match until the very end! I'll try to cover everything here!

- My character Vanessa I. Price will front the money, but will otherwise be mostly uninvolved in the tournament proper.
- This will not be intergender. Sorry, but not everyone does intergender, so I don't want to have to have a situation where someone would need to.
- This is intended to be a story platform for your character. $250,000 can help a lot of our wrestlers, and it's a special motivation that could help explore parts of their character even more! So I recommend using someone who you can do something unique with the concept.
- The gimmick matches will be "random" and announced at the start of each match. The players would decide on the gimmick though. It can be anything from a Smother Match, to a Submission Match, to a No Holds Barred Street Fight, to a Hentai match. I encourage trying not to overlap with other ideas! They're meant to be rather grueling affairs, meaning the winner would go through the ringer to get the win at the end.
- Before the tournament begins, everyone is strongly encouraged to cut a short promo about why they want the money, and what it means to them. Think of it as a quick backstage thing.
- Winners will be determined mostly by priority of story and such. If we are at an impasse, we may make a choice with a coin flip or some other means to determine it.
- Since tournaments take forever to begin with, please only join if you think you can try to get your matches done in a timely manner. Please try to prioritize posting to these threads so nobody is held up. I encourage using private threads as well to get a jump start on matches as well, to try keeping things rolling as well.

We're going to figure this out and discuss it on Discord in a group chat, so preferably contact me there if you'd like to be involved! My Discord is Dubski#4229. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions here!

Update! We have enough for an 8 person tournament, but if there's further interest, I can increase it. Reach out if you'd like to be involved. I'm probably going to get planning started after this weekend.
