L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

The camera fades in on a LAW ring. A lush red carpet draped over the canvas. The apron of the ring embroidered with the LAW logo, along with logos for the lightweight division. Various unnamed individuals scurry to find their place in the ring to make the shot look photogenic. Among them is a man, who stands at a podium, the only recognizable face of the bunch. The CEO, Owner, and General Manager of the company, with a stoic look on his face.

Dan "The Man" DeFranco, CEO/GM of LAW

DeFranco grips the podium. He glances backward at a trophy case, which houses the very reason he was holding this segment on a LAW show. The newly created LAW Lightweight Championship.

"Staff and management in this company tend to largely play a background role. So it may come as a surprise to see us out here like this."

"I've said this many times in the past but we at LAW believe that a top, international wrestling program like ourselves ought to center out content around the wrestlers. And while I'm sure our athletes and our fans are grateful to the production crew, to the managerial officials, and to myself for making the number one wrestling company in the world what it is today, we stand by that stance. This wrestling product will focus on and be centered around its wrestlers..."

"So on the rare occasions that you do see me on your screens or in the arenas, you should know that in interjecting because I have something important to say. Today I have two announcements to make. The first one is obvious. Behind me, you can see the newly redesigned and updated LAW Lightweight title. Better than ever. And it is to be bestowed to our current reigning and defending LAW Lightweight Champion: Rose Gold."

"Rose, please make your presence known, and join us to accept this accolade." He gestured to the entrance ramp as if to invite the champion. Naturally, it wasn't long until Lexy Alan, Rose's cohort, emerged to introduce Rose, herself.

Showhost/Interviewer/Valet/Part Time Wrestler Lexy Alan

With hearts in her eyes and a smile on her face, Lexy flashed the collar given to her by her mistress. She stood at the top of the entrance ramp and took her place to the side. With a microphone in hand, she got right to it!

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Please join me in welcoming our reigning and defending Lightweight Queen! The Sinister Siren, herself! The Ace of LAW! Rrrrrrrroooooooooooossssssseeeeee Goooooooooooollllllllllllllld!"

The lights in the arena flared to the beat of the electronica that had become synonymous with the League's Leading Lightweight. As the beat dropped, the full stage lighting returned and brought with it the Lightweight Champion herself! Rose Gold!

She stood at the top of the entrance ramp with all the confidence and bravado that had come to be associated with her name, for better or worse. She wasn't scheduled to wrestle tonight, and as such, she was dressed casually.

Rose Gold

A tank top hugged her lithe upper body and left her firm, athletic mid-section exposed. A pair of blue jean shorts hugged her hips tighter than a loser's lips. A ball-cap as black as her intent sat atop her crown of beautiful golden hair.

And to top it all off, She wore a yellow jacket upon her shoulders. Upon it's back was a black rose lined in gold. and the words "LAW Lightweight Division, Est. 12/20". The date she'd won the belt.

The jacket would be going live on the LAW online store as soon as the segment ended.

Her right hand shot skyward, lofting the title over her head inspiring the crowd to cry out. Some in praise, some in hate. But if you asked Rose... All in lust. She pushed her bangs back and drank in the sight of the eager audience with a self-satisfied grin before continuing her march to the ring.

Her free hand snaked around Lexy's waist as she passed by her. She kissed her possessively, a taste of her golden tongue to leave the dutiful ring announcer swooning. And in her daze, Rose would snatch her microphone and continue her stalk down the ramp. She licked her lips, savoring the remnants of her "associate" as she mounted the apron and slipped into the ring.

She brought the microphone to her lips as she stood across from the CEO. "LAW!" She demanded attention! "Welcome your ACE!" She threw the title belt up once more! The crowd roared.

"You hear that?" She pursed her lips in faux curiosity as she eyed the boss. The hand that held the mic extended to the audience, incase Dan DeFranco needed the assistance.

She slowly lowered the mic back to her lips again. "It's about time LAW management recognized me!"

Despite the accolade, she looked at Dan DeFranco with disdain, as if to ask; "What do you have to say for yourself, hm?"

The audience's reception to Rose's appearance was certainly charged, to say the least. There were those that loved her craft, those that adored her for her ability to humiliate women on the ring. And there were many, many more LAW fans that loathed her. Those that would hurl boos and insults with all the vitriol that they could muster. Rose was perhaps the most polarizing champion in LAW's history. And the fact that she had elevated herself to the point where she could draw a range of reactions simply by making her appearance known have weight to the lightweight championship, and to be division. She was good for business, and if you were to ask her, she was good for everything and everyone. And by the look on her face that she gave the head honcho after entering the ring, Rose Gold fully expected him to play along.

"Indeed. You've more than proved yourself worthy of recognition Miss Rose Gold. Please accept this honor on behalf of this great company. Your NEW LAW Lightweight Championship Title Belt." The Man took the belt in his hands and handed it to Rose. He clapped and gestured to the fans in the arena to do the same. If not for Rose herself, then for the spotlight being placed on The LAW Lightweight Division. The applause lasted nearly a minute. And as it began to fade, DeFranco would adjust his tie. With a stoic expression on his face, he reached for the mic he had set down once more.

"Yes, your division and your craft have been recognized. In more ways than you might have come to realize, Miss Rose..." Doubtless Rose Gold would have more colorful body language to add. Body language that would not faze the suited man as he continued.

"A champion should be a goal for their division to achieve. A hurdle that everyone should want to challenge and overcome. And in my time running this company, I've come to ascribe to the notion that a champion is only as good as the challengers that they defend against. And the challengers that they put down."

"Therefore! In recognition of 'The Midas Touch' series that you've become so comfortable conducting. And in the spirit of giving yourself and the NEW Lightweight Championship a defense that people will actually remember both champion and challenger for, I'd like to announce that management will be taking it upon itself to send reputable contenders your way. Starting right now! With the announcement of The Lightweight Classic Tournament! A tournament in which the winner will receive a shot at YOUR championship."

Right away the giant monitor in the arena would broadcast the following image, formally announcing the tournament event to take place in the coming weeks. DeFranco would gesture to it, nodding towards the screen to get the champion to turn around and bear witness to the pool of premiere up and comers in the division that were gunning for her and her prized possession!

The big screen in the stadium would list the competitor's names from left to right.
