The First on the List

It was LAW's first TV event after Fight The LAW 2, and the crowd was pumped. LAW had put on another terrific event, one that was filled with exciting matches, with both old and new champions prospering. And with Apex right around the horizon, it seemed a new era of LAW was being created. The excitement was palpable among the live crowd, who were wondering just what would come next, who would come out, and what events were to transpire next.
And the music of a woman who was deadset on being in the center of that new era played. Kathleen Hendricks. She had cut a promo on Fight the LAW 2, where she introduced her List of Domination, a list of names that she'd seek out and intend to destroy, with or without the assistance of the bookers involved. Kathleen had decided to take matters into her own hands and seek out her own challenges, and confront them wherever and whenever. Such a promo left fans curious as to how the Queen would approach this, and now, they seemed to be getting their answer, as Kathleen walked out from behind the curtain, microphone in one hand, and her list in the other, a white paper rolled up with a gold wrap.
Her walk to the ring was no nonsense, as per usual. A scowl towards a ringside fan here and there, but intent on her destination and little more, using the ring-steps to walk up to the apron and step her way in between the ropes and entering the ring, where she stood at the center of it, cameras focusing in on her.
"What a PPV Fight the LAW was... a PPV that I could not be apart of," Kathleen started off, clearly still bitter about her lack of a match on the PPV, the bookers refusing her a chance to wrestle on either night. "While top brass are too petrified of their own decisions as to explain why this was to be to me, I have been told by those familiar with their talks that it is because of my means of wrestling are not suitable for the biggest lights." No doubt Kathleen was an aggressive competitor. It didn't take much to see that, when allowed to, she could inflict damage and domination upon one that little were capable of. And perhaps this overly-aggressive style is now a detriment to her.
"If that is the decision being made... then I shall accept it," Kathleen continued, bitter but more of a sound mind than she was on the PPV. Having had nights to think did well for her as she remained more calm. But even then, the bitterness in her eyes was quite apparent as they looked into the camera, making sure that viewers at home could see her dissatisfaction. "Stifling one of their top new stars isn't a wise decision, but I have never credited anyone involved in this company as being intelligent. And such limitations I will fight through until the ropes wrapped around my wrists hang on by mere threads, and I shall be released back, better than ever, and to assure that I stand atop the mountain as the best this company - and any other - has to offer!"
"But, mere rambling about the oppression against me is not why I am out here tonight," Kathleen shook her head as she spoke, beginning to pace back and forth in the ring with her head lower, as the microphone was held tight in her fist. Something - or someone - had just entered the mind of the Queen, who looked equally angered as well as... eager, about such a thought. "No no, let me get back on track. As I'm sure many of you are aware, Fight the LAW had two great nights. As I was not booked, I watched back each of these competitions, and each of them lived up to their hype and more. History was made, and stars formed. However... there is one star that I am interested in. One that was fully formed, and is now crackling away..."
Stopping her pacing, Kathleen's head slowly raised back up, a dark, dark look in her eyes as she peered into the camera on her. This star was none other than...
"Astrid Ostberg," she said in a most icy tone. "Once a great wrestler. Once a woman who demanded respect in each room she entered. Once... a champion. Now reduced to nothing more than a stain on your division."
There was certainly shock as the Queen of Domination called out the former LAW Heavyweight Champion, Astrid Ostberg. While Kathleen did take on heavyweights more often than most middleweights, it was certainly ballsy to call out the woman who was the champion of the division for over a year. Yet there was no doubt in those eyes, in the words she spoke. She meant this challenge, and wasn't going to back down.
"Embarrassment doesn't begin to describe you and your actions. You were once a very strong champion, one to be commended, the strongest of the strongest class of women in this company you were. But then, you started to falter. Be it your body, mind, or both, you made a mockery of that championship you hold. Letting the miniature Rose Gold goad you into a match as though you were a raging bull and then getting choked out for millions to see, and now you've lost your championship as a woman I know very well, Alaina Sandra-Haines, took it right from under your nose." Kathleen described, the malice dripping from her lips as she spoke, making it clear that she found Astrid's failures abhorrent and disgusting.
"When you take on that championship, you are meant to uphold the dignity of it, the dignity of the past champions, and act as the face of your division. And all you have done is bring shame and embarrassment onto it and that title, so much so, that an old hag like Alaina has taken your place!" Kathleen snarled, particularly harshly when she mentioned Alaina. Their feud was still fresh on the mind of the Queen, as well as her battles with her tag partner, Tina. But right now, her main focus was Astrid, and dissecting her.
"You may ask why I care, and that is because, that night, after I came out here and spoke, I went backstage, into the locker room, sat down, and watched the main event. I watched with interest over what was to happen, as though I am a middleweight... my List of Domination holds no weight restriction," she said, holding up the list in her hand, still tied up with that wrap. "And the events of that night were very important to the forming of this list, and who I'd write down. I was ready to write down the name of Alaina, and beat her once again, or even the blonde bimbo in Katherine. But you, you lost. Mistake after mistake led you to do nothing but watch as the belt you were supposed to be defending was taken from you, the pin happening mere feet from your prone body."
"Which is why, now, I do you the decency you don't deserve to tell you right now: if you still have any muster of courage left in you, any fight inside that defeated husk of a body, I will be the one to finish you off," Kathleen declared, the look of determination in her eyes burning hot, as the idea of destroying Astrid once and for all excited her. One of her toughest challenges yet, yet one she was all too confident she could take on. "Now, I am not well-liked by management, so I'll let you be the one to demand it from them. If you win, you may gain back some semblance of your unfounded confidence. And if you lose... you better hope you don't find out what happens."
And with that, Kathleen dropped the microphone, with the waves of her challenge being felt in the audience with the shock of the fans. So soon after Astrid lost her belt, did the Queen of Dominance swoop in like a vulture, and declare her challenge. The first name of the List of Domination was named, and a potential marquee matchup was proposed: Kathleen Hendricks vs. Astrid Ostberg.
