An Apology is In Order

Unread post by winner3 »

It was a night like any other at the neighborhood LAW stadium. Between the littany of impressive matches in tonight's showing and murmurs of the unpredictable things happening backstage behind the curtains, things were as lively as ever. Every now and then, the things that happened behind closed doors spilled out into the squared circle, into the arena, into official televised segments and competitions. After all, people talk, reporters and wrestlers write, tweet, post, or even record their eye witness accounts to social media. And after a physical, submission-based sparring contest with Daisuke Takeuchi in the LAW gym, Irelia Xu had to come out in front of the live crowd to speak on the matter.

Irelia Xu
As the music started up, the beautiful, blue-haired middleweight emerged. At the top of the entrance ramp, she stood tall and waved to the crowd, taking in their praise and cheers before placing a hand on her hip and letting out a sigh. The tall, model-esque girl took to the ring. As she scaled the steel steps and bent down to enter gracefully, the staff at ringside handed her a microphone. She had asked for a reasonable amount of time for this promo. Xu knew she'd need it for the riffraff that she was calling out, tonight. As she found her place in the center of the ring, Irelia flipped her hair to the side before beginning.

"It never does get old for me, speaking or competing in front of a stadium filled to capacity." The vixen said with a smile before pausing for the positive crowd reaction.

"Cheers like this...they make me wish I had something happier to talk about tonight. You see, word has already gotten out, on dirtsheets, twitter and the like....I had a "run-in", if you could call it that. A "sparring" match in the gym not long ago. I had to discipline a cowardly boy. I've already forgotten how many times I've made him tap. But it doesn't end there, does it? No, not at all. See, what he probably hasn't mentioned when asked about our bout was that there was something on the line. He lost. He cheated several times and lost. And so, for his unsportsmanlike attitude, he owes me. He owes myself and all my lovely fans a very emphatic, very public apology!" She finished with both hands on her mic. Irelia assumed a wide stance. She raised her eyebrow before beckoning the foe she was speaking of, with full expectation that he was all out of options - that his hand was forced and that his apology was inevitable!

"Isn't that right, Daisuke Takeuchi!?"

Ever since that fateful run in with Irelia Xu in the backstage, Daisuke knew that this woman was trouble. Even before their private sparring match in the gym they had some confrontations before but their gym match was set to end things, with the loser having to apologize in front of the live LAW crowd. Their disagreements occurred even prior to LAW having an official mixed wrestling division, something which Daisuke had thought about deeply before agreeing to wrestle her for the stakes which he was forced to go through today.

After their gym spar, which Irelia quite convincingly won, Daisuke was fearing the day where he would have to come to the crowd and publicly apologize and there was rumours that tonight was going to be the night. The graceful thing to do would be to come out apologize to Irelia, just as they had agreed but Daisuke was a master in trying to weasel his way out of his commitments and perhaps tonight was not going to be an exception either.

When Irelia would call out his name, his theme cued and the wrestling prince would make his way out into the LAW arena, clad in his grey briefs and black wrestling boots. It seems he was not dressed for the occasion of making an apology but he did have a mic in hand. With a smirk on his face, Daisuke would make his way down towards the ring very slowly.

"Now now Irelia, I don't know what you are on about. Sparring match? Public apology? What is all of this nonsense" he would say, shaking his head. The wrestling prince would then step up onto the steel steps and make his way into the ring, approaching his rival. "You and I haven't seen eye to eye even before LAW started its mixed wrestling division. However, things have changed since then haven't they? he said, pausing for a moment when the crowd would start to jeer him heavily.

"There will be NO apology tonight Irelia...unless..." he said pausing again before approaching her, face to face.

"We settle this in the ring, in front of everyone. You and me, we wrestle until one of us is forced to apologize to the other on mic so that everyone in the arena hears it" he said staring into her eyes.

Daisuke was surprising very complicit with making his arrival. His music started up promptly when his name was called. The modelesque man seemed to have been expecting Xu to beckon him. But Daisuke did not carry himself like a man who had something to apologize for. No, Takeuchi neither hung his head nor did he not did he drag his feet. No, despite losing their spar and being honor-bound to acknowledge the stakes, despite Irelia's best attempts to force Daisuke to abandon his chauvinistic attitude, he came out with a mischievous smirk on his face. As his speedos hugged his figure and his stride echoed his arrogant attitude, Daisuke feigned ignorance.

He slowly made his way to the ring casually dismissing their previous ordeal. There were more than enough rumors and eye witness accounts for the fans in attendance to doubt the man's every word. Irelia crossed her arms as he approached. When Daisuke entered the ring and got face to face with the blue-haired beauty, she rolled her eyes and facepalmed before returning her attention to him.

"You have learned anything since our last go 'round, have you? You'll take any shortcut, any detour, any excuse to you can to get out of dealing with the consequences of your own action - your own follies...!" Irelia chastised Takeuchi, glaring at him as she stepped up and held the mic under her chin. She'd start again in a slower, more resolute and serious tone.

"Can you give me even one good reason why I should bother trying to teach you another lesson....?" Xu would ask, clearly irritated by Daisuke's impromptu challenge to what seemed to be a silly take on an 'I Quit', match. Her slender, toned figure nearly brushing against the cocky man's own frame.

The thing between Daisuke and Irelia had developed more than a professional rivalry at this point. It was turning into a more personal rivalry of some sort, with Irelia hell bent on proving her superiority to the prince and fixing his chauvinistic attitude. The victory in the gym ought to have been the end of proceedings between the two but somehow Daisuke was looking to deny the rightful apology that he owed to Irelia and instead would challenge her to one more match, a variant of an I quit match where instead of saying I quit the loser must apologize on mic in front of the live crowd.

Irelia as less than impressed by Daisuke's efforts to weasel his way out of their deal. She had no reason to wrestle him again, not when there were so many eye witnesses and other sources of information which would verify the spar in the back. She would scold him on the mic, embarrassing him in front of the crowd as she chastised him. The two would press together in a staredown and Irelia would ask him of a reason why they should ever wrestle again.

Daisuke would frown before nodding at her, she did have a point. "You're right. Perhaps then, I should give you a reason for us to do this again" he would say before suddenly dropping the mic and raising his knee up into her abs to knock the wind out of her. If that worked, the prince would smash his forearm into her upper back and subsequently grab her head to snapmare her and take her down on her ass before sitting behind her and wrapping his legs around her body for a body scissor submission.

Although Irelia did try and remain cool and collected, the very image of a distinguished and graceful female wrestler on LAW's roster, even she would struggle to deny that this rivalry with Daisuke was getting personal. Takeuchi excelled at pressing people's buttons. He did anything and everything necessary to make himself appear relevant - to make it seem like he could back up his incessant boasting and rampant arrogance. Here and now he was demanding a match. It would be the easiest and quickest way to turn the tables. No amount of evidence of their previous spar would dismiss Daisuke's words and ability if he proved he could defeat Xu tonight when he was called out to the ring by her, personally! Irelia was well aware. She stayed on task, ever-focused on seeing to it that the chiseled so-called "wrestling prince" made good on his words. That he apologize to the fans and to Irelia for his chauvinism. After all, Irelia had proven herself against Daisuke and against other opponents. She was really coming into her own.

"Ack!" The blue-haired beauty gasped as she doubled over! A sudden, hard knee from Daisuke to her defined abs knocked the wind clean out of her lungs! She doubled over and grimaced. The sound of the mic hitting the canvas reverberated through the arena as Daisuke grabbed her by the hair for a follow up!

With a sudden strike and malicious intent, Daisuke had proven something of his own! That there was no low he wouldn't sink to, no dirty deed he wouldn't commit to getting even with Xu! As Irelia doubled over, Daisuke stalked her with a clubbing forearm blow, stunning her further and forcing her to stumble before he moved in to take her down with a quick Snapmare! The sound of Irelia tumbling against the mats was accentuated by the mic on the ground, nearby. The talented model-esque wrestler clenched her teeth as she found herself in a seated position, trapped in Daisuke's body scissor hold! She'd groan in pain and frustration as it began to occur to her that she probably should have expected this from someone she considered to be this scummy! The audience filled the arena with boos as a referee began racing to the ring to make good on Daisuke's challenge and usher the pair into an impromptu match with no disqualifications and no rules! Soon Daisuke would have his wish and more: an early lead in a match if his choosing! A chance to turn the tables and make Irelia utter the humbling phrase "I'm sorry" to Takeuchi instead of the other way around!

The wrestling prince was known as somebody who would always have it things his way, no matter what the means of achieving it meant. He knew that a cheap-shot meant that his reputation would further sink down in the drain however that would be even more so if he were to actually apologize to her in public. The only saving grace in all of this was if he could attack Irelia and make her apologize to him instead and so he would blind side her by the knee strike which were followed by a series of forearm strikes and eventually a snapmare followed by a body scissor.

Daisuke knew that by going down this route he could potentially suffer the full wrath of the enraged modelesque woman but it was too late to think about the consequences now. With that the prince would grab her hair and yank her head back towards his left shoulder so that her head rested against it. His legs squeezed her harder and harder whilst he would grab the mic on the ground and bring it close to the lips of his lovely opponent.

"Say it. Tell me you're sorry" he would say, having the audacity to demand such an apology from the woman who had beaten him again and again.
