The Dark Fénix Reveals Herself

Aurora continued.
”Now I know what you’re all thinking. ‘Aurora, you’re punishing an innocent man for his uncle’s sins.’
She spoke as if she knew what Oscar would say.
“Well for one, he gets to watch his nephew get beaten up knowing it’s his fault. There’s a certain satisfaction in that. Pero si quieres el verdad, it goes deeper than that. You see with my father gone, wrestling became my sanctuary. My purpose. It always was. I tried to move on. Es verdad. I really did. I reinvented myself as La Fénix rising from the ashes. But the people who ruined my life Kept. Coming. Back.”

She paused, as if to ready herself for the climax.
”I attempted to start over my career. Yet then I learned of a gifted young wrestler from Canada named Oscar… Orelash. And now wrestling, the thing I love and found solace in, has been INFECTED by him. He is a walking reminder of what I lost. He INVADED MY WORLD. AND I WILL SEE THE SPORT I LOVE PURIFIED OF HIS TAINT. OSCAR! I WILL END YOUR CAREER AND YOUR FUCKING UNCLE WILL WATCH IT AND ALL WILL BE MADE RIGHT!”

"INFECTED!? What the hell!! I don't need anyone’s permission to do what I want to do! You don't own the whole bloody business!!"

Oscar shook a dist at the TV like a senior citizen yelling at the weatherman. Oscar knew how crazy it sounded to talk to himself- but he was getting fed up with Aurora. He had his own reasons to follow his passion for wrestling- and he sure as he'll wasn't going to sit and be cool while she publically declared that she was going to gatekeep him from an entire industry.

Aurora threw down the mic, which screeched with feedback. The crowd was deafening with boos at this point. Wanting to end Oscar’s career was simply unacceptable. Almost answering everyone’s frustration, new audio blasted from the speakers.
”AURORA!”
”AURORAAAAAAAA!!”
Drake Benton emerged from the face tunnel, mic in hand, and stormed towards Aurora.

His music played late, the production crew clearly not expecting him there. The crowd was cheering for Drake to lay the smackdown on Aurora.
“YOU PUT MY GIRLFRIEND IN A FREEZER YOU B-“
*Thump*
Oria and Jade, who were hidden in the crowd, popped out and ambushed Drake. Drake responded by bopping Oria in the head with his mic. Jade leapt on his back raining punches on him. Drake grabbed her and flung her against the barricade to the side. The whole exchange took place with his music still playing.

Unlike the twins’ ambush, Magna emerged from underneath the ring and faced off with Drake on the entrance ramp. After a brief staredown, the two began hockey fighting. They matched each other punch for punch. The TitanTron then came alive with new music.

Oscar perked up at hearing Drake's theme hit the area. Funny- there once was a time Oscar would have gotten on guard and prepared for a fight whenever Drake's theme hit. Instead, Oscar felt relief to hear Drake made it to the arena-

Oh- wait a moment. Oscar suspected Aurora would hide backup in the crowd. The Barbarian Prince had a chuckle at how Drake easily swept Oria and Jade aside- his chuckles evolving into quiet cheers as Srake faced off against Magna on the ramp! It took quite a bit of restraint from Oscar to avoid disturbing other people in the hospital.

The crowd suddenly went quiet as new music played. Looks of concern turned to fear as a hulking man of comparable size to Oscar and Drake walked out onto the entrance ramp.

The man walked down the entrance ramp as Drake and Magna fought up it. The man slipped in behind Drake, wrapped him up by the torso, and flung Drake back overhead with a release German Suplex! The man was clearly a freak of nature getting that kind of throw distance on someone Drake’s size. Drake landed further up on the entrance ramp with a thud and a cry of pain. The man roared an intimidating and barbaric roar and pulled his straps down.

Final Boss Mode

"...Wait, who's that guy supposed to be?"

Oscar's hype was on pause as an unfamiliar face showed up and attacked Drake- notable while Drake was busy with Magna. The distance Drake was thrown was impressive. Oscar would know well enough from experience that tossing someone like Drake that far was no mere feat- but here this guy was, tossing Drake like he was full of air. Admittedly, Oscat tilted his head as the man took the straps down on his leotard off of his shoulders- wondering what the point of the straps would be if he were just going to wear them loosely. Maybe it was an intimidation thing? Oscar wasn't sure yet. He just egarly watched to see how Drake would handle this mystery man.

Drake got up favoring his left shoulder after that hard hit on the entrance ramp.
”Come at me bro!” Drake raised his arms and beckoned the mystery man to come at him. Magna started advancing but the man held an arm up to hold her back. He then charged at Drake and the two started slugging it out. Drake had a weakened shoulder, so he started losing ground. The mystery man slowly but surely pushed Drake up the entrance ramp as they wailed on each other. He then changed things up by going low as if it to do a takedown. Only instead, he lifted Drake up and took off on a run. He carried Drake up the entrance ramp and smashed him into the TitanTron. The screen cracked and Drake was down. Drake delivered some more gut punches to the man as he stood over him, but they had no effect in Drake’s weakened state. The man picked Drake up again and flung him backwards against the large speakers with a fallaway slam!

Oscar couldn't help but wonder if Drake had injured his right shoulder in the fall- seeing him focusing on his left side as he kept fighting against this juggernaut of a dude. Assuming an injury was present, it would explain why Drake was losing ground. Oscar could only gasp sharply and hold his breath in horror as Drake was overpowered and hurled into the equipment near the ramp. The jumbotron, the speakers. All of it is severely damaged. Frustrated tears welled up in Oscar's eyes- silently cursing himself that he couldn't be there. Because of Drake, Oscar was spared the worst of the injuries from the bar attack- and Oscar couldn't even do anything to repay the Colossus. Not in the state the Barbarian Prince was in.

Drake should have probably waited and recovered from the bar room beatdown. And he should have probably gone out with backup. But the Drake train has no brakes and his tenacity was very apparent. He got to his knees and gave his attacker a couple good slugs to the stomach. Drake punches would work on most people but he was already beaten down and favoring his shoulder. The man tanked the blows and put Drake down with a big boot to the face. Aurora meanwhile picked up the mic again. Between her dropping it earlier and Drake crashing into the speakers, Aurora spoke with an eerie distortion to her voice that silenced the audience in fear.

”Oscar. Oscar. This is a taste of what is to come for you and your friends. If you continue to resist, you will see there is ALWAYS A PRIIICE.”

The man dragged Drake to the edge of the stage.
“And as your piece of shit uncle demonstrated, it often isn’t you WHO PAYS IT.”

The man then hoisted Drake up and pressed him overhead in a military press position. The crowd was screaming. Aurora nodded and the mysterious man yeeted Drake off the stage onto a table below. The Colossus smashed it to pieces and was out cold. The medical staff ran over and began tending to him. Aurora smirked and walked off with her crew in formation.

Oscar stared intensely at the screen as Drake was taken out- listening to Aurora's words as she made it very clear that it wasn't just Oscar who had a target on his back but EVERY person he cared for. Leaning back against the hospital bed, Oscar took a shake and deep breath as he ran his hands through his hair- trying to stay calm. To say things were getting from bad to worse would be the understatement of the year. It was one thing to fight a mob of perks set upon him, but Oscar never was big on his friends getting pulled into his issues. If it was something his friends wanted to do, then of course! But Katrina, Drake, Cyndi, Moria, and Rylie never had a say in any if this... and with the number of people at Aurora's disposal as shown at the bar- who knew who else was going to be targeted by Aurora's wrath. Honie? Tracy? ... maybe even Ulla if they could reach her in the states?

Oscar's anxieties faded slowly as Oscar balled up a fist and slammed it into the hospital bed- exhaling slowly as his eyes narrowed at Aurora's image on screen. Clearly, Aurora wasn't going to let anything go anytime soon. Action was needed- a show of force. Something to tell Aurora that he wasn't just going to take this laying down. Considering that Oscar was bedridden in a hospital for the moment and that he was due to return to Leviathan soon regarding their Excalibur Tournament almost finished with the qualifying matches and preparing to officaly kick off, diving straight into fighting seemed like a bad idea...

... But it also gave Oscar time to think. Time to plan and strategise with what the next move would be. As of right now, Oscar had been drafted into a war with a former friend- and if he wanted to come out on top and stop the madness, he was going to need to be smart going forward... and perhaps get a little help of his own.
