The Coming Cataclysm

Toshiko Ito

The arena turned black as Demon by Blue Stahli played and Toshiko Ito stepped out onto the ramp looking furious. The vicious striker didn’t do any of her usual war fan dancing on the way to the ring, instead heading directly to the ring, and she wasn’t wearing her usual mask. She stopped by the ring announcer and demanded the microphone quite assertively, snatching it away from her. Then, she rolled into the ring, not wasting a single moment.

“Someone has taken ownership of my contract!” screamed Toshiko. It was perhaps the most she’s ever spoken before, especially in an LAW ring. Normally keeping quiet and focusing on the match, and never having much of an interest in public speaking like this. However, she had just been informed by LAW via a letter that her wrestling contract was purchased by someone else. “I demand whoever did this come out here and FACE ME!” She wasn’t sure what proper wrestling etiquette was, but she didn’t care at this point. She was acting on emotion–yet another rarity for her.

Mikasa Takeuchi

There was silence as Toshiko paced the ring, glaring up at the ramp as if she would reach an answer sooner. Just as she got ready to speak into the microphone again, a woman came out in a tiny business suit, long red hair, and a pair of fashionable tinted glasses. She held up a hand as she spoke into her own microphone. “Toshiko Ito! I would like to request you please… relax,” stated the woman as she walked down the ramp as she continued. Her words didn’t seem to make Toshiko feel any better. “My name is Mikasa Takeuchi, and I am an agent to stars. And you, Toshiko, are a star. But there’s a reason why you’re at this level and not higher. You don’t have someone like me to help you along and dig you out the riff raff here.”

Mikasa walked up the ramp, staying on the apron though to avoid being attacked by the still furious striker. “Of course, you would never make this choice on your own… so I did it for you. But you’ll thank me! Because your career is going to go beyond where you could ever expect it to!” Takeuchi smiled broadly, watching the angry woman in the ring.

Toshiko merely held the microphone up to her mouth and said in a stern tone, “You will do no such thing!” And then, Ito threw her mic to the ground before starting towards Mikasa.

“Now, now, Toshiko… I’d like you to hear me out. And to help me with that, I’d like you to please say hello to your fellow associate that I’ve also brought in,” explained Mikasa, holding up a hand. Then, she gestured towards a dark-skinned woman clad in a similar outfit as Toshiko, only in green, hopping the guard railing and sliding into the ring.

Toshiko Ito turned, getting ready to strike immediately as she approached the woman. However, upon getting a good look at her, she froze when they were face-to-face. Looking completely stunned, a look that the crowd had never seen from Toshiko, the Twilight Edge took a step back from the smiling newcomer.

Kazuko Ito

Mikasa spoke again, entering the ring now without concern. “Toshiko Ito… I am thrilled to re-unite you with your half-sister, Kazuko Ito!” With a broad smile, she gestured to both half-siblings, with the crowd not sure what to make of it.

Kazuko made the first move, stepping forward and pulling Toshiko into an embrace. She spoke into her ear, quiet to the rest of the crowd, and Toshiko continued to look stunned, not returning the embrace of her family member. Kazuko released the hug before turning to face the camera, a big, confident smile on her face while Toshiko continued to look equal parts concerned and confused.

Takeuchi, however, took a spot between them, smiling happily. “You are all looking for the premiere stable in LAW right now. A group of FIGHTERS, in a backstage area filled with performers! We are the real deal. We are what happens when a company gets too comfortable! We are what comes when there’s been too much peace! We are The Cataclysm! And you may not realize it yet… but we’re the change that we all need!”

Mikasa would then raise the hands of both Toshiko and Kazuko, with Kazuko looking positively thrilled, and Toshiko still looking bewildered. Mikasa would then turn towards Toshiko and take her hand to shake it, grinning. “Let’s have a talk backstage between the three of us,” winking at the larger woman, she would then gesture for Kazuko to follow as they all left for the back, presumably to have a very long discussion with a surprised Toshiko Ito.
