Her eyes narrowed in a focused stance, Yuki Kazikura brought down her fists, her attention focused on the punching bag hanging from the ceiling of the gym in front of her. Her chest rose and fell softly with her measured breaths, as she kept an unblinking stare on the target of her punches. The girl might not have had much in the way of matches thus far in her LAW career - but it wouldn't seem to matter to any onlooker, as the young brunette brought her A game with everything she did, and this would be no exception. If she wanted to go far in this league, she knew, she would have to keep it up, and she would have to be ready for anything. Even here, in a gym, clad in a simple workout outfit of a white tank top and black shorts, Yuki faced down this punching bag with the same steely concentration as she would with any opponent in the ring.

Taking that moment to catch her breath, Yuki would soon resume her motions, delivering another barrage of punches into the bag before stepping back to watch as it swayed slowly off the momentum of her strikes, gradually returning to a neutral position. The gym was quiet, allowing her to focus her full attention. At least, until something might happen to interrupt her...

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
Having recently recovered from a bit of a foot injury, Julia decided today was the day to get back to hitting the gym. After all if she didn't keep up her routine she was afraid she'd quickly fall out of shape. Wearing a dark blue tank top and a pair of black yoga pants, Julia entered the gym with one heck of a workout planned. "I'm gonna need like a gallon of water after this." She said to herself as she prepared to start out on the treadmill. As she made her way towards the equipment the bluenette heard the sound of repeated hard hits to what she assumed, or hoped, was a punching bag.
Despite her injury, Julia found that she was still fairly light on her feet. As a focused Yuki caught her eye the gymnast would sneak up on the girl, coming up to her side before tilting her body slightly to get a better look at the punching bag and the fists landing upon it. "Woah!!!! I'd hate to be the punching bag." She suddenly commented and followed it up with a giggle. "I'm always surprised at just how hard hitting some of the girls here are." The bluenette continued as she attempted to conjure a conversation out of the blue.

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
...And sure enough, Yuki appeared to have been tempting fate, because someone did indeed sneak up on her. Lost in her focus on landing her strikes, she didn't even hear Julia's footsteps coming up behind her, no less that there was someone else who had entered the gym. That was, until she heard her voice.
"Gah-!" Yuki gasped in mid-punch, dropping her guard just as the punching bag swung back towards her, and proceeded to hit the unprepared lightweight square in the face. Groaning, Yuki staggered a few steps backwards, clutching her nose and trying to hide the deep flush of her cheeks as she worried about making a fool of herself. Nevertheless, she would soon direct her attention to Julia, turning to look over at her. Her breathless demeanor melted away as her face broke into a slight smile, hearing the girl's congratulations, and she nodded to her.
"Yeah, yeah," she said. "I'm pretty new here, honestly. But I've been keeping up with my training. You never know when it'll come in handy." She took a moment to stretch out a little before she continued. "Thanks, anyway. I don't think I've seen you around before?"

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
After seeing Yuki get hit in the face with the punching bag Julia had to quickly bring a hand up to her mouth to stifle her sudden giggle fit. "Oh gosh! Haha s...sahaha...sorry! SORRY! I didn't mean to...well I did but I didn't realize." She immediately blurted out in her best attempt at an apology. She sighed in relief though as soon as it became apparent that the other girl was far from angry. In fact Yuki seemed happy enough to engage her in a conversation even after the jump scare.
"Oh yeah? Well it's good to see a newbie training...not that I'm like super experienced myself. Oh! I'm Julia!" The blue haired girl rambled happily before she finally stuck out her hand as a greeting. She was happy to meet someone friendly, especially since things seemed to be quite quiet in the gym today, a seemingly frequent occurrence. "Well anyways sorry about that. Guess I should probably get to practicing too. Don't wan't someone like you getting better than me." She teased, unable to stifle this set of giggles.

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
The realization that she had been stricken by a rather less than graceful turn of events settling in as she saw Julia's attempts to control herself, Yuki's face started to go an even deeper red, and she fell silent for a moment. However, the embarrassment didn't stay with her for long, as she was soon able to regroup and return to the moment at hand, seeing that Julia's amusement had subsided. She nodded in response to her newfound companion as she introduced herself, before going to take her hand as well, shaking it with a nod and a smile.
"Yuki," she said. "It's nice to meet you. I have been wrestling a few years, but nowhere this big...I'll have to keep my skills sharp if I want to keep up."
Then she listened as Julia revealed what her intentions are - and still she was snickering a little, which caused the brunette to blush for just a moment, but she put those concerns aside. Then, though, she got an idea. The two were both in a similar situation, and she felt it might serve her well to get a feel for some of the people she would be going up against. Looking back at Julia, Yuki had a proposition to make.
"You know, we both could use some training," she continued, "And it's been hard for me to find people to practice with. How would you feel about a spar? You and me?"

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
Suddenly the smile faded from Julia's face and was replaced by a rather stern looking expression. Looking Yuki straight in the eyes she spoke. "Oh? Think you can take me newbie?" She said before suddenly bursting into giggles. "Hahaha yeah definitely. I'd love to practice." The bluenette continued as she calmed herself down. It was always nice to find a sparring partner and at least from the sound of it the two were on equal footing. Or equal enough for Julia.
"Just don't complain if I bend ya into a pretzel." The gymnast teased, now poking Yuki in the ribs with a smile. She was eager to get back into the swing of things and a nice practice match would be perfect. The bluenette hoped she still had what it took to put up a good fight but she'd see soon enough. Right now she just had to find a ring to practice in unless Yuki just wanted to try some stuff out on the mats. "Hmmm...ring or mats?" She'd finally ask, turning back to Yuki after she had scanned the gym. Waiting for an answer she would grab her ankle behind her back and start doing some preliminary stretching as was part of her routine.

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
Yuki issued the challenge, and from the sound of Julia's response, it was on. The raven-haired girl exchanged a quiet nod, coming off as quite different in terms of her composure than Julia's more carefree attitude. Even in an informal setting like this, she would be taking everything with the utmost of seriousness. "Very well..." she said quietly, stretching her fingers as she got ready to limber herself up. "Maybe then we can both see what we can do."
She rolled her eyes to Julia's apparent threat, but started to cast her gaze around the room, scanning the gym. It was fairly quiet aside from the two of them; before Julia's entry, Yuki had found the gym, or at least the corner of it she had claimed, pretty much all to herself. So now that they had decided to spar, they'd have the whole place to themselves.
"I say the ring," Yuki said after giving it some thought. "It works better for my style...as I'm sure you're going to see." She glanced back at Julia, wanting to make sure that she would be accompanying Yuki as she started to move towards where the practice ring was set up.

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
"Hmmm? What do ya mean it works better for your style?" Julia asked, a bit puzzled by the comment. "Nevermind. I'll find out I'm sure." She finally said before jogging upvto the ring. Darting ahead of her new sparring partner she'd slip between the ropes and scurry to the center of the ring. There she'd wait for Yuki in an exaggerated stance. Clearly the bluenette was not taking things too seriously. It was just a spar after all and she didn't expect the 'falls' to really last too long.
Not wanting to seem too playful though the gymnast soon stood up straight. "Ok. So how are we actually starting this?" She asked as she waited for Yuki to join her. She didn't quite know if the woman wanted to just try out a few thing or if she was going to treat this like any other match. "Should we just practice holds? Actually fight a bit? I'm totally warning you if you get me tied up I'm gonna tap quick." She explained, stopping just short of rambling on. Finally taking a moment to breath she just looked back at Yuki with a gentle smile.

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
Yuki was almost about to respond to her sparring partner's query before Julia provided the answer herself - and in truth, it was probably a better one than anything Yuki herself could say. Yuki was a kind girl at heart, and she would have answered truthfully, but she had to concede that letting Julia see for herself what she meant would probably be more fun. She smirked a little and nodded in her direction before she climbed into the ring as well, soon rolling up to her feet.
"Ah, well..." Yuki said, as she stroked back her hair to keep it out of her eyes. "I didn't really have an answer to that," she added with a shrug. Considering that she had expected her training session to be done solo, she hadn't planned out what it was she wanted from it, and she usually trained by herself anyway. However...Julia seemed nice enough, and if she was also new here, perhaps the two could learn from each other's company. "Maybe we can start out by having a little match. It'll keep us ready for what we might run into in the ring. If we're tired after that, maybe we can practice some holds..." She didn't want to press that issue, nodding to Julia as she admitted her apparent weakness towards submissions; it was a point that Yuki herself shared, and she knew how it felt. If that would be a problem, perhaps she'd put it aside for now - but she wasn't going to come out and admit any weakness, especially around someone she didn't know. For all she knew, Julia would be willing to use that against her.

Re: A Lightweight Encounter (For Noob)
With both women now in the ring, it was time for Julia to get down to business. If Yuki wanted a practice match then the bluenette would give her a good one. As soon as she had her foe in sight, Julia charged forward and would attempt to lock up with the other wrestler. She wasn't really one to try and just overpower her foe but she did like knowing what she was dealing with in terms of strength. It was also a fine opportunity to get in close against an opponent. Either way the gymnast proceeded to push Yuki towards the ropes.
"Hnnnng! Time...to...kick...butt!" She cried out as she strained herself against her sparring partner. "Just don't get too overwhelmed." She teased, smiling at Yuki despite trying her best to just slam the woman against the ropes. Just cause she was trying to do that though didn't mean she couldn't be friendly. Even if this was a real match Julia tried to keep things lighthearted.
If the bluenette managed to push her partner all the way against the ropes, she'd just keep going until her whole body was smushing the other wrestler tightly between her and the ropes.
