His weakened right knee had nearly been blown out. His chest heaved. The nose spilled out blood and he was preparing to cross into the abyss. Yet, Hiroyuki Takijima wouldn't go down when his back was facing Senji. The back that did not turn from him again. A nail that refused to be hammered.

Then...the irrefutable time came.

It'd been 12 days since it happened. The recovery from both their and his fight with Bast felt lengthy. Upon waking up, he recognized what had happened before the watchers told him. A concussion. That'd forced him into a leave of absence on both fronts immediately after the match alongside his other batterings. It wasn't paid but... he'd been fine as he hadn't taken many egregious hits to his finances. Those who kept money did not spend it. A brief talk between him and Senji, on the other hand, gained his interest in tangling with Senji's chosen master.

He could only do basic exercises when they finally let him go on restricted leave. As it stood, he could grapple but strikes to the head wouldn't do his body well. Therefore, in his latest gym escapades, he'd been giving the numerous rookies a partner to test their mettle against. At least they made him try. The display had even managed to prove his worth enough to gain the eye of two women. They'd said...what...their names were Helen and Alanna? Yes. After offering Hiroyuki a chance to train with the two, they'd given him the names they went by.

That's about as far as his knowledge went for the two at the moment.


Since there was no band, his hair hanged free this time but the younger man compared to the two kept it swept back, where the hair dye he used somewhat frequently had not been reapplied, meaning his hair more resembled a creamy white or silver - the truth underneath. For the attire, he'd chosen to go dressed in the usual, skin tight bodysuit he wore in the fight against Bast. However, there was a bandage on his nose and dressing around his chest. These were meant to protect his healing body from any infection or at least lower the chance of it. He'd attempt to not let it affect the session, especially since strikes weren't allowed as his own verbal conditions. In any case, Hiroyuki kept his breath steady as he looked at the two from his kneeled position across from whatever position Helen and her buddy were in.


"Which of you wishes to go first?"


The tone didn't sound malicious. He sounded more akin to a winded body as opposed to exhausted too. Still, he was up for a dance!

Helen and Alanna made their way into LAW's grappling gym. The were dressed in their two-piece activewear. Upon arriving they set down their bags and proceeded to stretch. They saw their training partner was already there. The two women met Hiroyuki Takijima by chance in the traditional gym while weightlifting. He was waiting for them to finish their squat sets when Helen struck up a conversation. Turns out he was good at submission grappling. Helen and Alanna had taken some losses in that area that exposed their ground games as lacking, so they were all to happy to train with an expert. After they exchanged contact info they agreed to meet up the following day to train in submissions. Hiroyuki asked for no strikes and the women, all too vain about their appearance, readily agreed. When the finished stretching they approached Hiroyuki, who looked better but still beaten up. "You sure you're good? You still look rough," Helen elbowed her. "We won't hit you, but don't expect us to go easy on you either," Alanna huffed. "Sounds like you're ready to go, Alanna," Helen asked. Alanna stepped up to the mat and readied herself to face Hiroyuki.

"So how should we start, teacher?"

Hiroyuki considered their words. They'd respected his desire to prevent further injury, and looked to be quite the sociable types. Well, more so on Helen's end.

"This is what's 'safe' for me to do, so I am assisting you two.... don't grey your strands by worrying about me a lot-As for how to start..."

Hiroyuki trailed off as he thought about it. He wasn't used to teaching as opposed to being taught. Still, couldn't hurt to give this a chance. And, he was either unlucky or lucky enough to have struck two partners! Hiroyuki planted his palms on the mat and pushed off to aid in getting into a standing position. After this was done, Hiroyuki went in a quiet stride to Alanna's front. Steadily, he reached out to plant his hands on her shoulders and try to guide Alanna onto her back.

If she followed along, she wouldn't face a long delay before his midsection was between her thighs. He leered over the woman with pursed lips before setting his arms on both sides of her stomach.

"Here should be good, it's common. If you don't know, this is called a Guard. When your legs there are open, it's called a Open Guard. When you enclose them around me, you can refer to it as Full or Closed Guard. I'm afraid to say I'm not aware of your style yet, so what would you do from here, Alanna?"

Alanna followed his instructions and laid down. The Frenchwoman was a dancer before she was a wrestler and had powerful legs. She decided to use those to her advantage. ”I think I’d do this.” She hooked her legs around his torso into a closed guard. She then tried yanking him to the right with her legs to throw him off of her sideways and onto the ground.

Hiroyuki, not really feeling like being a total jellyfish in terms of participation, chose to soften the impact for himself. He lurched to the side, and pushed his left arm out to catch himself which caused his arm to also take the impact of that. His eyes had widened a little during it, being caught a little by surprise by the usage of her legs. If his little maneuver worked as planned, Alanna would find him off towards her side. He wasn't on his back though. He was now leaning on his left side, being supported by his bent elbow.

"---Quite the ruffian, aren't you? I was expecting a submission.", Hiroyuki commented. Right, he should give her some feedback on that since her ears were probably open.

"Even if I broke the fall, that wasn't bad-!"

His eyes trailed to her legs, then his gaze went back upward past her middle musculature and capped at eye level.

"What would you do next?"

Alanna sat there with Hiroyuki in her guard while thinking of what to do. She struggled a bit. And while not trying to hit him, she mimed “throwing” a punch his way to get a feel for it. “I don’t understand. How can I go for a submission? I’m on my back. You’ve basically pinned me. I can’t really reach you from here. What could I do?”

Alanna was this green? Ah well. Nothing to it. He'd just impart his knowledge onto her. Hiro shifted off to straighten himself from the turned position she'd put him in.

"You can try a Triangle Choke. It's easy to start off with, and you'll be able to utilize your legs.---I won't say that being on your back is the best position in a fight though, unless you are a grappler-type of fighter. Now to start, take your right leg and uncross it from your guard, then put your foot on the hip at that side. After that, push on my hip with your sole to give yourself some proper space...."


After that, Hiroyuki gave her a helpful hint by putting his right arm by the left side of her head on the mat and then keeping his left arm on the opposite side of her stomach. He'd explain the mechanics of how the choke worked in detail in the near future. She needed to be aware of the effects of these holds, both good and bad so she neither overstepped nor neglected to capitalize on a potential clear opportunity to turn a match in her favor.

"Oh I do like moves using my legs. They're my best asset" Alanna said. Taking Hiroyuki's hint, she used her incredibly flexible legs to her advantage. Alanna briefly let go of the guard and pushed herself back with her free leg. Getting the picture, she grabbed Hiroyuki's arm that he had set up for her and attempted to wrap her legs around his neck while pulling his arm across her stomach. If successful, Alanna would try to squeeze him in the triangle choke until he submitted.

Alanna caught the flow of movements before Hiroyuki finished giving instructions on the next step of the Triangle. Her right leg came around the back of his neck, pulling him closer to Alanna and she finished the leg lock by crossing her other leg with the ankle of her right foot. In Hiroyuki's opinion, he didn't have any issues with the execution so far. Then, she started to squeeze him. The familiar sensation of muscle hardening into a constricting vice was not lost on him. Given that, it wasn't long before he tapped her right leg three times with his free hand to indicate his submission to her to get out of the typical anaconda-inspired chokehold.

If she let him go, the rather easy-going man slightly raised his head so that Hiroyuki was looking over her in the same position as before the Triangle. Any basic critiquing or praising would come out as dry, so Hiro needed to give her something with substance.

"That was very good! If you wish to, you can also merge the Triangle Choke with the Armbar to squeeze your opponent and put more pressure on them using the arm you've trapped. From what I've practiced, you can also push your opponent's, me for example, arm across their neck, grab the back of their head, and pull while squeezing. After that..."

Hiroyuki tapped her thigh again for emphasis since she could likely get the picture. As stated before, he was trying to stay away from telling them things they already knew unless Helen or Alanna needed further explanation.

Alanna studied Hiroyuki’s moves closely. She struggled with the armbar, as coordinating the transition between targeting two different body parts was difficult for her. When he showed her the alternative way to choke someone, Alanna lit up. ”Oh I like that anaconda vise or cobra clutch, is it called?! No matter how many pictures of it I look at, I can’t seem to get down which arm goes where. Could you apply it on me to show me?” Alanna scooted to show her back to Hiroyuki and get ready for the hold.

Helen watched with amusement from the side lines at Alanna’s training. . She herself had powerful arms and legs from her track and field background, but her coordination of them needed a lot of work. She could choke someone out with a sleeper, but had difficulty locking in body scissors or a full mount to make it inescapable.
