Jackal in the Snow

Ivy felt like she was Her Royal Highness of Planet Earth after she successfully made Jackal Tojo tap. But the Brit was still a refined woman, she wouldn't physically taunt the blonde by extending the choke, putting her foot in Jackal's face, stepping on her, or anything else like that. But as Ivy let go, Jackal would be able to see the shorter woman's head tilt down as a pair of incredibly satisfied eyes looked back at her, while a widening grin stretched across her pale face.

"Tell me, Jackal," Ivy said as she stood up. For while she was above physically rubbing in her victory, she was more than happy to enjoy it verbally. "Ivy Aster was not a name known to you before we met, yes?" she asked. "As far as you were concerned, I was just another wrestler at the gym. A sparring partner you could get your basic live practice in against, maybe try a new thing or two against without much risk of getting punished if it didn't work out."

"Well you know who I am now, and I'll ask that you make sure to remember," continued Ivy. "However, pleased as i may be right now, I am neither arrogant nor ignorant enough to believe that I could make you tap out in such fashion if you were truly competing," said the Brit as she re-entered her wrestling stance. "So as we continue, I insist you think of me not as a prizefighter's sparring fodder. But as an opponent who is coming for you, because that is exactly what I am doing."

After tapping, Jackal rolled onto a knee as she rotated her shoulder and elbow, the strain from the armbar wasn't quite at the level of seriousness but Jackal could feel through that hold that her opponent was serious enough. Looking up at Ivy, Jackal couldn't help but chuckle after being caught redhanded with her assessment of her training part. "Hehe... Guilty as charged." she had admitted as she rose to her feet rolling her shoulder and standing before Ivy again.

"All right, I'll treat you as the wrestler you are, talented and I can see it in your eyes. The hunger and drive. Let us continue and I'll help you soar to heights you're destined for." Jackal let out with a smile, truly a chance encounter on a typical gym day. Steel sharpen steel as they say and knowing that Ivy was one who could handle her and was wanting for it.

"Of course, come at me. Let us strengthen each other through our efforts!" Jackal declared as she moved forward looking to lock up with Ivy once again!

As much as Ivy would like to believe that she had truly made Jackal Tojo tap out with one move, and for as offensively dangerous as the Brit knew herself to be, Ivy understood that no wrestler on Earth could best Jackal that easily. When the Shangri-La ace confirmed what Ivy had said, the purplette didn't take that as some attempt to save face for herself. Ivy took it for the reality that it was.

Ivy did, however, earn the right to be taken seriously, at the very least. Admittedly, something Ivy's name did for her most of the time these days, but here she stood in the ring with a woman who was only obliged to acknowledge the genuine best of the best. The Snow Rose had been establishing herself as exactly that ever since she'd come to LAW, and now Jackal was one more person who had gotten that message.

This time, Jackal was the aggressive one. Presumably wanting to minimize any room Ivy might have to pull more of the misdirection and trickery that had preceded the blonde's doom the first time around by setting the pace. Jackal got the lock up she wanted, hands meeting and locking between them as the two women would begin pushing for dominance, though Ivy did not at all consider this to be a bad thing.

Ivy and Jackal could be seen as rather similar wrestlers at a glance. Firstly, both were incredibly physically strong women, leaving their lock up as a tightly contested battle where neither woman could prove a significant edge. Both Ivy and Jackal combined their power with high technical skill to fight as deadly submissionists, though Jackal's greater experience likely left her a bit ahead in that regard. Deeper than that, and the differences started to arise. Ivy paired her power with blazing speed and aerial prowess, while Jackal paired her power with a tank's durability and ring shaking slams. One could even say that Ivy was more extreme a wrestler, while Jackal was more balanced. Ivy was faster than Jackal was durable, but Jackal's roughly average speed certainly held a higher floor than Ivy's lacking damage taking ability.

All else aside, right now, it was power on power. Who could overwhelm the other first. Or, who would try to pull something in order to break the stalemate, and would the other be able to counter it? For now, Ivy was content to continue locking horns in a pure test of strength, though tries to keep herself ready in case Jackal did decide to try something.
