Belinda countered Makie's hold too fast for her to follow; before long Belinda was behind her, squeezing arms around her waist. Makie gritted her teeth and grabbed for Belinda's wrists. In a normal match she would have thrown elbows back into Belinda's face, but this was just a spar. Body blows and strikes weren't on the table. Yet.

So instead, Makie focused on one of Belinda's wrists with both hands, and twisted hard, trying to dislodge her grip. If she was successful, she would follow up by judo tossing Belinda over her shoulder onto her butt then trying to drop in behind her for a sleeper.
