Alice Gaster vs Kyo Akamatsu

Alice was quite excited for her match tonight. She didn't think the announcement of the events would affect her much...but here she was, at the second event of 2023, ready to kick ass to a fairly respected wrestler. After Apex, Alice wanted to find further success in LAW, having a fire lit under her to try and get herself better!

Alice would enter the arena to her new theme and new attire gifted to her by her sister, all fixed up post her Apex Deathmatch, as the Pale Rider was more than ready for the match at the show...as was the crowd, warmly receiving her on her way to the ring, as she stepped on the entrance ramp, raising her kendo stick up into the air!

She proudly walked down to the ring with a smile, rolling in as she smashed the weapon into the ground a few times, before lifting the weapon one more time, screaming: "LET'S GO!!!"

As the theme quiet down, the ref would request Alice's weapon, since this was a straight match...and begrudgingly, Alice followed the instruction to a point, as she dropped the weapon outside of the ring, as she awaited her opponent's arrival...

About a minute later, almost at the moment Alice dropped the kendo stick, her opponent arrived.

As his theme song blared in the background, Kyo Akamatsu calmly, confidently, strode into the ring. Kyo was still a new face within LAW, an untested, unproven commodity. Tonight, of course, he planned to change that. Even so, he didn't expect much reaction from the crowd, and also didn't expect them to cheer for him over the more established face that was Alice Gaster. And yet, all the same, he was greeted by enthusiastic cheers from the audience as he made his entrance; despite himself, he was momentarily taken aback. Well, I must be doing something right.

Focusing back on the ring, he strode down the ring, and in so doing took a look at his opponent for the first time. Alice Gaster was a lot shorter and slimmer than him, with a thin, wiry build that spoke to speed and hitting velocity over power. The British girl's hair was cut short, and she had a mischievous, confident grin about her. In more ways than one, she reminded Kyo of his sister Makie...not that that was going to make him hold back against her.

Those weren't the only things he noticed about her, though. The first was a bokken lying at the side of the ring. Just an in-ring prop, or was she an actual practitioner? Also, something about the shape of her outfit-- a tight body-hugging sleeve of grey and yellow fabric, with her arms and one leg bare-- immediately struck him as familiar. Wait a minute, was she making an homage to Megumi Kudo's classic outfit?

Rolling into the ring, Kyo stepped forward opposite Alice. "I couldn't help but notice that bokken lying by the side of the ring," he said calmly, doing a light stretch before the match began. "You aren't planning on using it on me tonight, are you?"

Alice exhaled carefully as she awaited Kyo's arrival to the ring. She was actually quite looking forward to the match. As a lot of people pointed out online, the two had similarity between themselves. Both were from well-regarded wrestling families, with their parents passing away at a young age from tragedies, who grew up to make a name for themselves in this insane sport. Obviously, there were differences, but there were enough parallels between the two wrestlers to make the encounter for the show very intriguing...

Kyo received a warm reaction from the crowd as he made his way into the squared circle, taking a good look at Alice before asking her about the weapon at ringside...

"Hm? Oh my Kendo stick? Nah, don't worry...it's just for show...", Alice lied as naturally as she breathed, though the wording of Kyo's question made it interesting. He must've practiced martial arts enough to call the weapon by it's proper name, compared to Alice who was only aware of it's usage within wrestling...

The ref would ask both whether they were ready. Alice nodded, and, once Kyo did as well...

DING DING DING!

The match would go underway, with Alice making a careful step towards the ring, hands outstretched for a standard Collar and Elbow Tie Up grapple!

Kyo watched Alice as she responded about the kendo stick. Though he couldn't put his finger on why, something seemed disengenuous about her answer. Truth to be told, given the way his opponent held herself, Kyo could totally believe that she was not above using weapons in the ring...but the fact that she was keeping the bokken at ringside told him that she had no intention of using it. She must have been more used to hardcore matches, he realized, than standard prostyle bouts like this.

Even if that was the case, though, Alice was showing absolutely no fear as she motioned for a grapple. Despite their evident size and height difference, she was still eagerly challenging him to a test of strength.

"Fair enough," he breathed, circling here. "I was admittedly hoping to meet another kendoka, but it is enough for me that you're a wrestler." And with that, he darted in, meeting Alice in a grapple, arms intertwining with his opponent's as he tried to push her back...

"Sorry to disappoint...but I'm going to show you that I have enough to kick your ass!", Alice declared, as she grappled with Kyo! She tried to push against Kyo...but it proved fruitless, as Kyo stood against her as if he was a wall. And he was pushing quite hard against her, making the Brit take a few steps back, almost getting to the ropes!

This meant that Alice had only one way to gain an advantage in the match without resorting to cheating this early on. She kicked against one of Kyo's hands, grabbing his left one with both her arms as she twisted at it with a Wristlock!

Kyo clenched his teeth as the two of them grappled. As much as Alice was pushing against him, though, it was clear that Kyo had the advantage in strength, and slowly but surely he began to push her back. He admired her effort, of course, but effort alone wasn't going to win this match--

And then, quick as a bolt, Alice next to him, twisting his arm in a wristlock. Sharp pain shot up the trapped limb, and he winced. "Not...bad," he hissed, before dropping into a roll, hoping to flip over and grab onto Alice's wrist, before lashing out with one leg to trip and hopefully flip her down onto her back. Kyo, as Alice would hopefully soon find out, had plenty of tricks of his own.

Alice has been practicing her technical skills with Clara recently, eager to improve herself in standard competition as well...but she was quickly reminded that she wasn't the only technician in the ring, as Kyo quickly rolled through the wristlock on the canvas, before kicking the Brit's leg from under her!

With a quick grunt, Alice decided to not come back to the ground just yet, instead trying to bring Kyo to her level. Still holding his arm, she would try and get her legs around his ankle to try and trip him onto the ground!

Kyo allowed himself a half smile as he managed to reverse Alice's arm lock, twisting around to flip her down to the mat. His lighter opponent seemed somewhat surprised by his quick reactions, and a second later, she was being flipped head over heels. Except, if there was one thing that Alice Gaster seemed to be, it was agile, and she quickly countered, latching her legs around Kyo's ankle, tripping him in turn!

Kyo cursed as he went flipping head over heels a split second after he did the same thing to Alice. Instincts kicked in, and he dropped into a roll, quickly putting some distance between the two of them; as he rolled back up to one knee, the crowd burst into applause, impressed by the technical skills of these two.

Alice quickly got up to a knee, wanting to grab at Kyo's leg to trap him in place, but he quickly rolled forward, spinning ti be face to face with the Brit, the crowd cheering for the technical display!

Alice would smirk, before standing back up to her feet. If Lyo could match her technically, what about striking?

She stepped towards Kyo, trying to ram her fist into his cheek for a Left Jab!
