Main Event: "Super Kitty" Katherine Hart vs Melody Serperior - Melody Retires?

Melody’s threats were bearing fruit. Kat was going to fight her with all that it took, it seemed…even despite the Super Kitty’s mixed feelings on the match, as she held her arms while the greenette rose to her knees. Melody tried to pull away as Kat spoke to her, scolding her for this situation…before throwing her knee upwards…

…and Melody stepping away to avoid the attack! Even though her arms were seized, she bent her long torso to avoid the attack…before propping herself up on her leg, while trying to shoot her other knee into the Super Kitty’s solar plexus to drive her back!

”You have to put me down first!”, the greenette would scream if her counter attack was successful!

Kat soldiered on through Melody's threats and through the greenette's precise and potent strikes! It had been some time since she had felt them. Melody was as strong and as capable as ever. And Serperior proved that when skillfully dodged Kat's knee matrix-style and retaliated with one of her own!

"Guh!" Kat let out a groan and grit her teeth as Melody's knee struck true! The Super Kitty doubled over and staggered back a few steps toward the corner! She balled her fist and waited for Melody to approach. Kat would look to try and catch Melody with a hard forearm blow to the chest if she did!

Kat tried to power through, but the truth was no matter how much Melody threatened or attacked her, she was still very much wrestling with the notion of retiring Melody just as much as she was wrestling this match with her!

Melody wrestled with desperation and anger in her heart. But even with the many advantages that fighting with everything to lose, there was still a moment where anger clouded mind to the point where it wasn’t possible to see when you were walking into a trap.

As she stepped towards Kat, the Super Kitty would suddenly right, before ramming her forearm into her chest!

”GUAAAH!!!”, the greenette staggered back…but realized that she was close to the ropes, using them to rebound towards her purple clad nemesis, ramming her arm into her chest for a Lariat!

Afterwards, however, Kat’s hit would let itself be known, as Melody fell to the floor, trying to catch her breath after the shot to her chest!

Kat knew better than anyone that Melody could trade strikes with the best of them. The greenette's strikes were her calling card as a wrestler and a fighter. No matter what Serperior's doubters might say, no matter who thought she was the underdog coming into this main event match, no one knew better than Kat that Melody could bring it in a wrestling match. The Super Kitty had wrestled this woman many times over. But never with this much on the line!

"pant....pant..." Hart took heavy breaths as she stumbled but ultimately stayed on her feet. She slowly stepped towards a downed Melody.

"I kept telling you not to this. I keep telling you that I don't want to retire you...." Kat grabbed hold of Melody by her arm and her head. She grumbled these words audibly as she looked to set up for her next move! Kat would look to pull Melody up to her feet and pull her in close, wrapping one arm over her rival's shoulder and down her back. With her free hand, she gripped the stocking thinly veiling the back of Melody's thigh! Kat's back was to the corner!

"WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN!?" The Super Kitty would roar out in a rage as she looked to plant her feet firmly and snap back to throw Melody overhead with an Exploder Suplex into the ropes and turnbuckle pads in the corner of the ring!

Kat would ultimately remain on her feet, though the heavy panting let the greenette know that her shot had an effect on the purple clad heavyweight, though it wasn't enough to topple her, as she approached Melody to grab her by her hair, lifting her up, while Kat berated her for not listening to her, that she didn't want this... but Melody did.

Problem was, at the moment, she couldn't fight back against Kat, as she grabbed her by her shoulder and leg. With Melody looking at the corner, she knew that the next hit was going to hurt...

"AAAAAAAGGGH!"

But as Kat threw her through the air, it was even worse than what she expected. Her neck impacted the bottom turnbuckle, while her spine hit both the middle and top one, with Melody's head landing onto the canvas. In the end, the greenette laid upside down, in a heap, breathing heavily...

Though Kat took command in this match, inside she was a torrent of conflicting emotions. Right now, she was about to tap into some righteous indignation. Melody had put her through a lot in their old promotion. Even now, the greenette was looking to put Kat through more, all for her own personal gain. It wasn't fair. It wasn't right. None of it has to be this way. Melody was choosing to do things this way!

"Grrrr!" The Super Kitty growled. She took a few deep breaths and stepped towards a downed Serperior.

"Is this what you want?! Is this what'll make you listen?!" Hart would squat down and wrap her arms around Serperior's waist! With Melody in an upside-down position in the corner, it made things easy for Kat to continue to show off her strength and her grit! She grabbed hold of Melody this way and stood up, carrying the girl up onto her shoulder!

If Kat maintained control, she would turn around and break out into a run! She'd carry Melody towards the middle of the ring quickly before jumping up to try and level the middleweight with a big Running Powerslam!!!

Should Kat keep her momentum going, she'd hook both of Melody's legs and take a seat near the girl's green-haired head, wrapping her opponent up on a pin akin to a Victory Roll. With Melody in a compromising position like this, the referee would no doubt take note and drop down to count! But even if the striped shirt girl did, even if it seemed that Kat might very well run away with this....at the count of two, Kat would simply ease her grip on Serperior's legs....and let go, breaking her own pin!

"......."

The SWAT Cat would hang her head low, obscuring her face, and simply sit there, seemingly paralyzed at the idea of putting Melody away for good!

Unlike Kat, Melody couldn’t have been more content with her choice. She still wanted to win…she needed to win this. But if she couldn’t, her spot in wrestling was forfeit. She was fine with it. It was selfish, but no matter how much Kat didn’t want to do it, the match was happening, right here, right now. There was no changing it now, no matter how much Kat wanted it to not happen.

Problem was, she was still in the ring with one of the top women in the company, as she successfully picked her up on her shoulder and rushed away from the corner, ramming the lanky greenette into the floor with a Running Powerslam!

”GRAAAAAAAGH!!!”

Afterwards, Kat would go ahead and pin Melody. Victory Roll was quite difficult to escape, especially after a painful move like this, but soon enough Melody collected her strength. Right before the count of 3…

…Kat would break the pin herself.

Melody rolled over on her stomach, first with shock on her face… then anger, as she stood back up, holding her hurting spine:

”You cannot…do anything. It is done, the match is happening. I knew you hated me… but I never thought you despised me to the point of not even wrestling at your best. You fucking coward. And you call yourself a champion?!”

Melody herself didn’t know how much of it she meant as she looked squarely in Kat’s eyes, trying to enrage her to fight in this match!

The fans in the arena began to feel the wave of anger and bewilderment that was emanating from the ring. Kat had listlessly worked her way up to her feet. She didn't lunge at Melody or go after the girl's hurting back. She simply stood there in the middle of the ring with the greenette trying to avoid eye contact with her. The scene played out almost exactly like it did during their faceoff/promo that set up this match.

Serperior once again laid into her with that same verbal barb. "Coward" the girl called her. Melody asked the masked blonde how she could call herself a champion. Melody looked right into Kat's eyes with all the same anger and resentment that was festering within her over the years and she once again tried to goad Kat into holding nothing back!

Hart balled her fists at her sides. They trembled with strong emotions that couldn't be put into words. The luchadora bit her lower lip for a couple of seconds before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. If left uninterrupted, she'd slowly open her own eyes and look into Melody's own. Kat didn't know where these next few words came from. Perhaps deep down, it was what she was really feeling or thinking. Anyone who had followed her rivalry with Melody Serperior and Navi Florges from years gone by could understand.

"You're the coward, Melody!" Hart would yell. She would step forward to get in the greenette's face! Kat would get nearly nose-to-nose with the Serperior as she continued!

"Navi's a bigger coward than you are. That girl didn't have the guts to stick around! She doesn't have the guts to come back!"

"If you wanna join her so bad then you can get out of my ring right now and walk to the back....!"

"But if you're not a coward, then you'll recognize that you're the woman with something to prove tonight, not me! If you wanna prove you belong here then stop fighting like a sandbag and hit me!"

Kat got nose to nose with the greenette, tearing into her as Melody got redder and redder in the face, insulting her, insulting her best friend, and telling her to quit if she so wanted to… or stand up and fight.

And as Kat’s final words left her mouth, all that Melody had to response with was a hard forearm strike to Super Kitty’s jaw!

”With pleasure.”, she would say coldly. Assuming Kat would stagger back from the strike, Melody would wind up her leg, and try to ram it into the side of Kat’s head for a roundhouse kick!

Crack!!!

The forearm from Melody cracked across the legendary luchadora's jaw like thunder booming through an open field! Melody's timing was just as cold and cerebral as the vibe she gave off after connecting with it! The very same second Kat finished, Serperior let her have it!

The Super Kitty visibly struggled to find her footing after that stiff Forearm to the face! Kat stuttered and stumbled twice, nearly going for the ropes! But she decided to shake it off, quite literally, and stomp her way back to Melody! And when she did, the fired-up greenette met her once again, this time with an equally devastating Roundhouse Kick!

"!!!" The kick made an equally sickening/concerning sound! All at once, life seemed to leave Hart's eyes! Kat's arms fell limp at her sides! The fans and the commentators looked on with shock and concern as the tag team champion fell down to the mat on her side in one motion, like a fallen tree trunk!

There Kat, laid motionless and the referee knelt down to check on her! If there was one area Melody outshined Kat in the ring, it was with her toxic strikes! They seemed to be made all the more potent now that Kat seemed to finally be willing to get confrontational with Melody just like Serperior wanted! And by stoking the fires within her rival, Kat seemed to push the greenette to the next level!
