A Workout Interview

Today was going to be quite a day for Alaina. She wanted to interview someone for LAW and she was allowed to select who it was! The excited Alaina decided to really shake things up. Firstly the interview, workout and whatever else happened on this warm summer day would take place at her house. She had a large home gym, a pool and whatever else someone wanted to relax and chat.

Alaina was clad in a red bikini, sunglasses and reading a book as she got some sun in her yard. Charlie had the kids out for a bit, and expected the trio to return at some point adding a wrinkle to the plans. For now all was quiet and the bikini clad amazon was happy to lay quietly as she waited for Gemma Faraday to arrive.

Yes, Gemma had recently defeated Alaina in the ring which was something of shocking or upset win. Yes of course Alaina wanted another shot at her. However Gemma was a terrific kid and Alaina really liked her. She was going to interview her about wrestling, about her workouts and then maybe the two would work out together. Alaina loved (except for when Gemma pulled off shockingly powerful slams) that Gemma was well built and stronger than she looked. Alaina was curious what sort of lifting she could do when pushed, and if Gemma had agility training to help Alaina move better. Maybe once the chatting was done they could go for a swim, take some fun pictures, or have a spar. Or all of it! Alaina had only this planned for the day and then a quiet family evening. She had wrestled a lot of matches lately so she did want to try to have a quiet day.... which would come tomorrow.

Alaina was curious about a few things and given her wrestling contracts, endorsements and such over the years her sizable house (estate) had a lot of bells and whistles especially in terms of doing wrestling workouts. She hoped Gemma would be amendable to a lot of the ideas Alaina had and Alaina wanted Gemma to know there was no bad blood from Gemma defeating her.

The train ride was a good chance for Gemma to clear her head, on her way to an interview. Sure, she caught glimpses from the other passengers; staring guys, young girls who were taking notes on her custom steampunk look, even a handful of LAW fans that recognized her, scrambling for bits of paper (magazines, newspapers, anything) that she could sign. Of course, she told herself after they scurried off at their stop, it wasn’t that odd … Not a lot of white-haired pro wrestling girls on the train, right?

Gemma got off the train and had a bit of a walk to Alaina’s place. She could have called a cab or an uber, but she liked the chance to get her head sorted out first. Her rivalry with Alaina was possibly the defining moment of an otherwise … not distinguished career. The punky young Brit had worked her ass off to train, to endure the beatings, to do everything she could to finally get a clean, solid win over the Amazon. Now, apparently Alaina wanted to interview her, after the dust had settled.

If it had been almost anyone else, Gemma would have expected shenanigans. Luring a rival to home turf so you could get in a little revenge pounding? That was the kind of thing pro wrestling companies like LAW thrived on. Gemma grew up around the business, she’d seen how these kinds of things could play out. Her own parents had suckered quite a few rubes over the years by offering to ‘settle things over a pint,’ just to end up putting them through the pub window. But this was Alaina Saunders. If she wanted to get payback on Gemma, she’d do it right at the gym, or in front of a packed arena. The question did remain, however … what was this going to be about?

Gemma made the walk out to where she was told to meet her rival-cum-interviewer. The punky Brit smirked, looking around. Part of her thought Alaina would never forgive her for pulling off a slam, and now here she was with a personal invitation. That smirk, however, immediately collapsed to slack-jawed awe as Gemma turned to see Alaina’s place. She took a moment, soaking in the size of it. Gemma hadn’t committed to getting a home here, no matter how long she had wrestled in Japan. She couldn’t imagine getting herself a place like this anywhere, however. Gemma shook it off, pigtails whipping around her shoulders until she could focus, again. Then, she stepped forward, and rang the doorbell.

Alaina was laying in the yard taking in the sun when her phone alert said there was someone at the door. Alaina got up and began making her way through the yard and saw Gemma dressed up in her usual steam punk attire. "Hey Gemma! Over here!" Alaina said in her red bikini, waving as she shouted so she could get Gemma's attention.

"Hey... so I figure we could just chat a bit and get in some sun while we have a glass or two of wine before the interview started." Alaina said pointing to the lawn chairs she had set up with a small lawn end table and cooler in between. "You brought a swimsuit right? I figured if ya wanted to lounge around and get sun like me you can but you don't have to if you don't want." Alaina added as she smiled and reached out to shake Gemma's hand. "It is good to see you again, and if you are up for it I thought we could maybe do a workout together? I have a nice home gym setup and a practice ring..... years of wrestling contracts along with endorsement deals have helped with that. Would you be down for something like that after the interview?" Alaina asked finally taking a breath and allowing Gemma to reply.

Gemma’s head whipped around as Alaina called out to her. Turning, she saw the Amazon coming in from sunning herself in a bright red bikini, looking incredible as usual. Gemma looked the veteran over, feeling shocked all over again that she had actually managed to finally get a win over this woman as she looked her over in the flesh, again.

“Hullo, Alaina!” Gemma called out, giving a tiny little wave and approaching her host. Gemma took the handshake firmly, nodding her head along with Alaina. “Good to see you too, Alaina! And in a bit more of a casual setting, yeah? I mean, you know, compared to a ring built specifically for us to beat the snot out of each other, right?”

“This is a nice facility too, like,” Gemma said, turning to give the house another once-over. “I wouldn’t mind getting a good look at the facilities, and whatnot. Bloody impressive, this, but I guess that’s what a career like yours gets you, eh? And I do have some gym kit and a swimsuit in my bag, here, so, sure!” Gemma didn’t want to admit, but she really only had the one bag, so she kept a lot in there.

“Have to admit though, I’m a wee bit surprised you wanted to invite me all the way out here, for this. Hope I’m an interesting interview-ee, for you.”

"Haha thanks! I can show ya around in a bit no problem." Alaina said before sipping on her wine. "Go get changed and we can lounge around over here in the yard and chat before we do the interview. After that you can see the home gym while we go over some training and the like." Alaina said with a nod.

She gave Genma time to change and looked Gemma over as she came out. Defined quads, not as much muscle mass but solid definition around the back, shoulders and even now her arms and abs. "Huh... no wonder you were able to slam me so thunderously, you may have made the ring shake sending me crashing down just as hard as when I slam you." Alaina said with a wink as she poured Gemma a glass of wine, with the two getting some sun in the yard.

"So Gemma before we start off and you tell me what got ya into wrestling do you have any questions for me?"

Gemma smiled as Alaina gave her the go-ahead to get changed. Gemma took a quick movement to get into her workout gear; very simple by her standards, it was just a snugly-fitted black sports bra, with black and white yoga pants and shoes. Gemma checked her fit, making certain that she was looking good for her interview. Gemma told herself she wasn’t going to be intimidated, but after everything that had happened, she wanted to make certain she looked like she was in the best shape of her career … which she was. Pulling her hair back in a tight ponytail, Gemma went back out to face her interviewer.

Gemma stepped out into the sun, and gratefully accepted both Alaina’s compliments and her wine. Taking a sip, Gemma sat down, and mulled the question over in her head.

“Not too much, at the moment,” Gemma said. “Of course, I’m sure I’ll be buzzin’ with them soon enough. Some time, I do want to pick your brain about touring in the territories. How long have you been going at it, again?”

Alaina sat back and smiled looking over Gemma's impressive figure. She did pack on some lean muscle, no wonder she was able to impressively slam the slamazon Alaina so hard to the mat! Alaina sipped on her wine and mulled things over recalling the steps of her career. "Well I wrestled locally in southern California in 1996 before USWW noticed me, it was the biggest all womens promotion in the US at the time and I wrestled there 1997-2002. They liked me because I was big and flaunted my figure, back then you had to have sexy appeal to get noticed. Women couldn't just get by on skill alone and we still kinda get stuck today having to be good and attractive to really get endorsements or a huge fanbase." Alaina said with a shrug at the end, wishing that some of those days would end. At least it wasn't as bad as when she started.

"After that I made my way to the Womens Wrestling Alliance of Europe from 2002-2004. That is where I put your mom in her place a few times and when my cocky amazon self scoop slammed your favorite Lisa Rampart all over before Lisa and I went on to win tag gold over there. We actually get along real well but she was my first big, dominant one sided win over in Europe which got me noticed." Alaina said before chuckling. "We would constantly take shots at each other, I would slap her thighs and point to how jiggly they were and she would slap my backside trying to say I had more flab on me than she did. We all know I was the more fit, firm, muscular powerhouse though." Alaina said with a wink as she tensed up her abs and flexed a bicep as she was leaned back in the lawn chair. "Also, of all the times I fought your mom she never beat me clean. You did. You did something she could never do." Alaina added with a grin and nod to Gemma.

After a pause and sip of wine Alaina kept going. "Next up with the Luchadora Wrestling Federation in Mexico. I was there from 2005-2006 and did pretty well. I really worked on my agility and endurance there. The USA and Europe molded my size, power and gritty toughness. LWF taught me agility while Japan forced me to up my endurance and toughness to a new level. Japan Womens Wrestling was my next stop from 2007-2011 and I struggle initially before showing them the dominance of the amazon. I really got a big following in Japan, a large foreign muscular woman with curves who could also do a moonsault caught their eye. I had more endorsements and such here, a lot of that followed me back to the US and into my initial retirement. I did one last year in USWW in 2012 where I wrestled a young Katherine Hart going 2-1 against the rising star and 'retiring' as USWW champion at the end of the year. I thought I was done until late 2016 I felt the urge to wrestle again after the kids were a few years old. Charlie was supportive, and still is. I am hardly as good a mom as I am a wrestler but Charlie is better at being a dad than I am a wrestler, and I consider myself the best lady to step between the ropes but that is a biased ego talking hahaha!" Alaina said with a laugh sipping her wine again.

"Girl, I am sorry I rambled but when you are as old as I am your career history takes a while to go through. I was gonna ask how the hell a smaller lady like you slammed my big butt to the ring so hard but looking at that figure I think I got it haha! But how are your super scoop slams so effective and what was it that made you want to be a wrestler?" Alaina said, asking questions to Gemma.

Gemma nodded along and smiled as Alaina gave a rundown on her career. It was interesting, and much more personal than the countless internet articles Gemma had read on her. Gemma couldn’t help but smirk when Alaina mentioned her mum, and that smirk became a grin as Alaina pointed out how she’d one-upped the old bat. It hadn’t really occurred to Gemma that this was the case, but that added a lot of context to her win and made Gemma beam a little bit.

“Not rambling,” Gemma said, “it was interesting! I know, er I knew, someone that was trying to tour the world like that, get well rounded. Seems like it well paid off, for you! It’s nice you’ve got someone to watch the little one, Charlie sounds great … and lucky! I’m sure he’s not protesting you going out in those wrestling tights, eh?” Gemma wiggled her eyebrows, then broke into a laugh. She leaned back, sipping her drink and looking quite relaxed.

“My background isn’t quite so fancy, I’m afraid,” Gemma said. “I grew up in the shadow of wrestling, in Blackpool. Mum and dad’s little wrestling promotion ran for years, so I grew up around it, grew up around the wrestlers. It seemed like a given that I was going to step into the ring at some point. The fans all cheered the cute little blonde getting in the ring, and mum latched onto that right off. Then, she realized how much more they’d pay to see me squashed, so she did not mind throwing me into some pretty lopsided fights. Still, despite that, people talked. Any success I did manage to get, the rumors would fly that mum pulled some strings, or put some pressure on the ref before the match. So … I got out. I used some of mum’s contacts, sure, but I found some Japanese promotions willing to give me a chance. I haven’t exactly been on a winning tear, but I’m working on it and getting better. I mean, clearly, eh?

“Speaking of, you have no idea how hard I’ve been training that slam … because of you!” Gemma took another drink. “It felt like … a challenge. It’s no trade secret, the bigger gals have an advantage in our sport. Girls like me gotta go high, but you knew what to do about that, eh? So, I had to surprise you. It almost worked a couple of times, so I kept working on it, until finally … it did the trick! There’s a couple folks I worked with in the locker rooms that helped me build strength, helped me learn to use my balance and momentum to do some of the hard work. I’d like to think, though, that it all made me a much more well-rounded rassler!”

Alaina nodded and listened to Gemma as she spoke. "Charlie is really great and I am lucky, without him being the man he is I would never be the wrestler I am, plain and simple." Alaina said of her husband. "Really he and the rest of my family keep me going. My nephew being a strength trainer at the LAW gym is also nice, he built up a client base and if ya need help with strength give him a call because he has helped me out quite a bit." Alaina said with a bicep flex and wink. "And... yeah Charlie does really like the wrestling attire. We fool around a bit when given the chance and he seems to like it worn in the bedroom albeit briefly."

The tales of her youth made Alaina cringe a bit, hearing that Gemma had it pretty rough for a long while. "Yikes that must have been rough, but now people see that you are earning your place and quickly climbing the ladder I would think." Alaina said as she sipped her wine, happy knowing that her kids didn't have a leech of a mother like Victoria.

"Your new strength is quite impressive I will say that. You got me good, but first do you think I have that much of an edge just because of my size and do you think you can outright out-slam the amazon?" Alaina said sounding like she was issuing a challenge but the tone of her voice plenty clear that everything today was good natured and her being impressed with Gemma was entirely genuine as Gemma beat the amazon clear their last time out.

Gemma nodded along as Alaina described her family situation. She thought about how nice it must be, to have a family situation like that. Her parents were supportive of each other, even if they were scheming against everyone else. The other couple she knew in wrestling, she wasn’t exactly looking to model herself after, seeing how Holly’s training with her boyfriend led her all the way down to the Loser’s Championship …

“Oh, well, size is always a consideration,” Gemma said, perking up however as Alaina talked about her own strength training. “I mean, I’ve known some big gals that can’t come close to what you do. Being big, you can get a smaller girl up, but throwing her down? Keeping control, and not gassing yourself out? Size is just a wee little part of the gig.

“As for me … Well, to be honest, going into that match I was not completely sure I was going to be able to pull that off. I mean, I don’t want to sound creepy, eh, but wrestling you, I’ve had a chance to feel what you’re working with, and you’re solid muscle, eh? So, getting you up and over all without taking myself off my pins? When it happened, and it worked? I had to keep that rolling!

“Now, if you’re asking if I can do it on command? Maybe. I’m one of those wrestlers that feeds off the fans, so a gym challenge is a wee bit different, but I’m game to try. You could probably tell from my ring still, I’m not exactly afraid to crash and burn, eh? I’ll see how much damage I can do on the way down!” Gemma kept her own tone light as well, with a warm smile and a wink at the end, showing she wasn’t deflecting a challenge, but she wasn’t taking offense at the offer, either.
