Respect Your Elders (Or Don’t)

Valerie Villeneuve is no stranger to attention. After all her family was always in the spotlight. Despite fantastic media training, Valerie did still need some getting used to being front and center herself. Most of the time her name would be a footnote in any trending news story or article. Now that she’s positioned herself to have a lot of station within her family. Suddenly Valerie is treated like any other A list celebrity. Benefits and flaws together. That being said though Valeri didn’t mind. More eyes on her meant that what she was doing was working. Case and point with this past match she took part in.
It may have well been a charity match. Valerie’s opponent was practically a jobber with no right to be in the ring with her.
(In reality she was a local favorite.) Valerie dispatched her opponent like she would with any other. She was so forgettable that Valerie could hardly even remember her name. Of course the Law arena rallied behind her, but Valerie was more than okay with squashing any hope of victory and turning the audience into another enemy.
More eyes on me while I rise Valerie thought to herself back stage.
That being said, despite her very strong performance. Valerie did wonder, what it would take for someone with a bit more cache to try her. At least Valerie would have more fun dismantling them, as opposed to some no named jobber. Now backstage reviewing Villenueve business files. Which honestly stimulated her brain more than the match prior.
Well… this night couldn’t get any less boring… Valerie lamented as she proceeded to shift her responsibilities to a seemingly more formidable opponent.
Paper work

Maria was more than a little focused, hammering away at the heavy sandbag in front of her. The object buckled under her kicks and punches, with rusty chains creaking as it swung back and forth, it's arc growing wider with each solid hit. Out of the corner of her eye, the veteran saw some officially dressed lady coming in to work on paperwork through one of the nearby windows. It was only a passing glance, before Maria returned back to her work. Her recent loss had shaken her a little bit, convincing her that she had more than a little bit of ring rust to batter clean before her next match.
That required focus and training....and judging by the sweat beading down her abs and masked face, she was doing a good job on that front.

Valerie Villeneuve has faced many foes with various strengths and weaknesses. Some of those strengths surpassing her own. Though one by one they learned of the chasm that laid between them. Valerie’s ego and skill being impossible to bear it seems. Her current opponent paperwork on the other hand. Held something that was proving impossible to surmount. That being boredom. If I have to read another financial statement or quarterly earnings report, I very well may try my odds with a guillotine. At least then my boredom would end Valerie said as she groaned in annoyance. Valerie worked to be trusted with more responsibility, but no one said it would be so boring. If the gods are real, I beg of thee please send something, anything to cure this disease of mine… Valerie said as she took one good glance at her surroundings. Trailing off at the end of her statement as her eyes fixated on something interesting.
A particular wrestler dressed in navy blue, was working herself to the bone on the sandbag. One quick glance of her body showed that it was honed through several years of experience. I may not be religious, but I’d be a fool to not take this opportunity Valerie said as she stood from her seat and walked over to the training wrestler. Even a closer look did this training wrestler more wonders. Her fair skin showed little signs of aging, yet care was placed. The muscles were tailored for all types of situations. My oh my, you seem to be working so diligently. I would like the story associated with such an effort Valerie said with a semi sultry voice. Leaning over the shorter wrestler and onto the sandbag.

Maria's focus was only on her training, and she was so absorbed in finely tuning her strikes that she didn't even register someone walking into the gym until the voice called out to her, in a smooth voice that sounded like buttery smooth and velvety in it's delivering. Standing a bit straighter,, the older woman turned to look at the stranger.
She was stunning, there was no doubt about that, sporting a beautiful face framed by shiny hair, and her body wrapped in a neatly done suit to give her a more manager like appearance. Leaning against the bag, she raised an eyebrow up at the taller woman, "Just doing my best to keep in shape, senorita....not one to let myself slip up and not commit to more training."

In all honesty, Valerie didn’t know where this chance encounter would take her. But anything was more fun than the paper work awaiting Valerie for round 2. Yet something about this woman was mysteriously intriguing. That may have been amplified by the fact Valerie’s match prior was practically forgotten by her. So now Valerie was willing to make the most of this situation. Who knows maybe the unexpected may come out of this. Asking for the reason of such a strong effort. Valerie was interested to hear the answer. Hearing the answer come from the fellow wrestler Valerie was able to gather several things.
1. This woman is much older than Valerie
2. This woman is seemingly a hard worker
3. This woman is having trouble keeping up with her own expectations
4. Valerie has seen this woman before
A smile forming on her face, Valerie postured herself back up. Is that right? Well that is to be expected from someone with such a rich career. Though I must ask myself, why is Maria Castillo of all people having such trouble with a simple exercise. Valerie said, being careful to stoke the flame and yet not pour gasoline onto it. The heavens surely must’ve smiled on her, a chance meeting with a legend? Suddenly her day of boredom was being forgiven.
