A calm before the storm! Ruby meets Nikolina! (For killer23445)

Nikolina held the handle of her roller suitcase as her tag partner lets out a yawn and started to stretch out. It was a bit of a drive but the two made it to the arena. Everyone was getting everything set up and Nicole wanted to go ahead and get some food, if she read everything correctly it would be Nicole’s turn to have a match. Her first match for LAW, needless to say she was excited but by the stern look in her eye no one could probably tell.


When Nicole wandered off to get food Nikolina would rush to the area where the information was posted up on who was facing who for tonight by the booker. Once she got to the piece of paper she would see the name Ruby Rose. She blinked for a moment thinking if she has ever heard that name before? But nothing came to mind, though someone did at least explain to her that Ruby was new to LAW like herself but she at least participated in events in more independent promotions than Nikolina has. Though Ruby at least had a year of experience ahead of her so she did not dwell on this thought for long.


What Nikolina needed to focus on was getting ready for this match. She looked around the locker room for a bit as she just saw how short she was compared to some of the other girls in this promotion. She lets out a sigh as she starts murmuring to herself already sort of formulating a plan in her head. She at least knew that Ruby was in the same division as her and Nikolina was going to need to figure things out. Though now all she was thinking about was getting some food in her, from what she had heard there might be a catering area somewhere in this place or at least an attempt at one.

Nikolina only really wanted some fruit and a water bottle to at least keep her going. She would take out her phone to make an attempt and get in touch with Nicole. She was looking for food, so there was at least a chance that she might have gotten some food already and could at least point her in the right direction.She would purely focus on her phone as she sent a couple of text messages to Nicole quickly, waiting ever so patiently for her partner to text her back. It didn’t help that the three dots were going up and down at least insulating that Nicole was typing.

Ruby Rose and her sister Yang Xiao Long had finally made it to the LAW arena. The drive wasn't to long, no thanks to Yang's driving. If Ruby was being honest it nearly killed her. "Alright Rubes today is your match, go get yourself ready while I look for parking" Yang said to her younger sister who was having her debut match. "What you are just gonna leave me alone here?" Ruby said nervously looking to her sister. Oh come on it won't be that bad, just go inside and find the booker it'll tell you about your match. Once you do that try and grab me something to eat I'm starving. Then I'll hand you your stuff Yang said pulling up the entry way, Ruby looked to her sister and hoped she wasn't being serious but waiting there in silence for a few minutes gave her an answer. "FINE"

Ruby makes her way out of the car and into the arena. The place was huge, it was something she was never used to before. Ruby making sure she couldn't talk to anyone fearing social interaction, would make her way quickly to the booker. Once she made it to the booker, she was handed a sheet of paper of the events tonight. She looked at the sheet trying to find her name, it wouldn't be long until she found it Ruby Rose vs Nikolina Koski. Her heart skipped a beat on reading it, this was it her chance to show herself off.

Now Ruby was making her way to get something for Yang to snack on. Ruby quickly would make her way over to the catering area, she took in the sights right before her match. But as time went on she began to worry about her match. What if I mess up crescent rose? What if they laugh at me? Worse what if YANG does something only Yang would do. Ruby was running these thoughts through her head. So much so that she bumped into someone by accident in the catering area. "Oh I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention" said Ruby

Nikolina sighed as the three dots were still on her phone, soon the smell of food from a distance made it to her nose. She smirked as she starts typing a message to Nicole. She wanted to tell her not to worry she’ll let her nose bring her to it. Nikolina was about to press send when all of sudden she felt something, correction someone bump into her. She looks down at the ground as she accidentally drops her phone onto the ground landing screen down. “What the heck?” Nikolina said she dropped her phone and quickly picked it up. Inspecting it to make sure if it was alright. As she looked it over she heard the voice of the worried Ruby. Nikolina up at Ruby with a bit of a small glare at first. The bluette was trying to decide if she should snap at her for her incompetence but then again it was a mistake.


Instead Nikolina fixes her glasses so they sat perfectly on her face again. “Yeah...It would be wise for you to watch where you are going next time…” Nikolina said annoyed with the Silver Bullet already. She was lucky there were no cracks in her screen. Nikolina lets out a frustrated sigh and looked at her phone once more as the screen had turned back over to the information she had pulled up on Ruby Rose showing her face on screen. She turns back to Ruby and says, “So you are Ms. Rose correct? I have just started to look up some of your past matches…” Nikolina continued to look Ruby over noticing that the articles said Ruby was short but still she was taller than her! That annoyed her but it was most likely the case, Nikolina was shorter than most. “I am Nikolina Koski...And we are scheduled to face each other tonight…”

Ruby was sorry that she bumped into the blunette. She would've picked up the phone for her, but she did so before Ruby had the chance to. Upon further inspection Ruby looked at the girl and saw that she was even smaller than her. Didn't know someone could be smaller than me Ruby thought to herself.

As Nikola fixed her glasses and said Ruby should be more careful she responded. "Yeah heh, I'll keep that in mind, my mistake Ruby said rubbing the back of her head nervously. Ruby didn't know what to say to this girl, it was like she told Yang she isn't good at being social. Next Nikola would have Ruby's face on her phone which was confusing to her. Yes I am Ms.Rose... Wait was I on your phone This was when Nikola responded with her name and that she was her opponent. "OHHH So you are Nikolina, my opponent for
tonight. How are ya? Ruby said extending her hand out for a handshake

Nikolina looks at Ruby up and down, she was taller than her but from what she had read she was short to most. You have to be kidding me?! Am I ever going to be the tall one?! Nikolina thought to herself as she looks over her phone screen. “Okay no damage, and it works properly. Crisis averted.” Nikolina whispered to herself, she was just so happy it wasn’t broken. First week in Japan and a broken screen would’ve sucked.


It seemed as though as Ruby was interested in what was on Nikolina’s phone. Nikolina looks at her phone and quickly switches the screen so Ruby’s face would no longer appear on it. “Yes, I was searching up past matches of your’s and analyzing your strengths and weaknesses during them.” Nikolina said with a stern look plastered on her face.

That was when Ruby would extend her hand out to her and instead of shaking it she would just stare at it for a moment. But finally Nikolina would shake Ruby’s hand while shaking her head and a sigh. “I am fine, I was going to go get some food and relax for a bit...Not that it really matters to you.”

Ruby had a dumb smile on her face as Nikolina just stared at her. It was awkward for a few moments but then she met her with a handshake. "Phew crisis averted" Ruby said in her head, but she would see Nikola sigh and say that she was going to get something to eat. Now normally Ruby would let this go but this was her best chance to make a friend her. "Mind if I join you? In relaxing for a bit I'm not to hungry"Ruby said knowing that this was pretty unorthodox knowing full well this was her opponent she was talking to. Nontheless who said that fellow wrestlers couldn't be friends? Right?

Nikolina looks at Ruby and her dumb smile glaring at it for a bit and shaking her head, this girl was overly friendly and it was kind of annoying. It sounded like she wanted to try and get to know Nikolina a bit, ah thats what it is. She was trying to get any information that she could out of Nikolina, or at least that was what Nikolina thought Ruby was trying to do. Nikolina hated the fact that she wanted to get to know her but with this Nikolina could at least attempt to get information out of Ruby as well while barely exposing anything about herself. Delightfully devilish Nikolina, with that she would nod towards Ruby. “Sure I don’t mind, I was just going to get something small anyway, just something to keep myself going. I see your nerves must be affecting you...Are you worried you might throw up in front of the crowd from the pressure?” Nikolina said as she approached the catering area and would just grab a bottle of water and a apple a simple snack to keep the body moving. “So….Ruby...How would you explain your fighting style?”

While Nikolina thought Ruby was trying to be somewhat devious in trying to figure everything out. But that wasn’t the case, it was just that Ruby wasn’t to good with people. So she thought this may be a way to have a conversation with her. Next thing Nikola would comment on Ruby’s nerves ”Nerves? Nah they aren’t getting to me. Hey... I won’t throw up in front of the crowd. I’ll do great hopefully...” The last part of what Ruby was said under her breath. She followed Nikolina to the catering area where she only got an apple. Ruby wasn’t feeling to much of eating so she didn’t get anything. Next Nikolina would ask the classic question of what is Ruby’s fighting style. Fighting style? Say I haven’t thought about it, I’m just like my sister in that way I just do. What about you then huh?” Ruby said to her blue haired adversary

Nikolina smirked at Ruby’s response about her nerves, but she did hear Ruby utter the word, ‘hopefully’. So she was at least a bit nervous. Nikolina would go ahead and takes a bite of her apple and walks over to an area to go sit down at. Once a table was found she sits and enjoys her apple for a moment. She blinked though looking to Ruby after finishing her apple. “Its alright to be nervous, I mean I would be nervous too if it wasn’t for the fact that mentally I am prepared. Sometimes people just overthink meaningless things. Like hoping the crowd likes them as a person, all that matters in the end is defeating your opponent. Doesn’t matter how.” Nikolina said with a slight nod as she paid attention to Ruby’s words closely but was disappointed in the response, she just does...What a childish response. “I see, I aim for control and bending the body to its limits...Even your fingers.” Nikolina said as she made a claw motion towards Ruby. “So needless to say...You’ll be in a lot of pain after tonight. I recommend icing your hand for twenty minutes and leaving it out for another twenty minutes.”

Ruby would follower Nikolina as she looked for a seat. Once she sat down and took a bit of her apple, Ruby also took a seat in front of her opponent. Ruby wasn’t going to lie watching Nikolina just finish her apple was kinda awkward in all honesty. Then she responded to Nikolina”Yeah it’s easier said than done. I wish I could think like that but sometimes my mind just goes to those places on its own. You are right about winning is what matters but I’m not to worried about that” Ruby said even though some would take what she said as her saying she was going to win. Then when Nikolina was talking about her fighting style she went on about bending and bending. ”I don’t doubt I’ll be in pain it is my debut thanks for my advice. I don’t really have anything to say to you when you lose though
