Reunited at Last! Alice Dudley and Abby Lazel

"EEP!" Alice yelped as she shrank away from her flailing friend. To say that Abby was passionate about super heroes would like saying that World War 2 was like a school yard scruff. "You know that I've never been good at remembering that kind of stuff!" Alice said.

Yeah, this was bringing back many memories. And the red head English woman knew she just had to wait for a few more seconds when Abby calmed down. Alice still didn't understand how Abby remembered all of those complex comic book storylines but had trouble remembering an algebra equation.

Abby was all too prepared for yet another long explanation of the intricacies of each and every superhero and all the various stories about them, but she would soon be interrupted by the sight of two other women walking up behind Alice, two women she knew quite well!

Abby's supehero partners Pulse and Wildfire, dressed in regular clothes instead of their wrestling outfits, would approach, causing Abby to pause what she was about to say and motion to Alice!

"Oh, Alice! These are my two pals, Amber and Clarissa!"

Alice prepared herself for another familiar forty minute lecture when she two people came up to her. She noticed Abby's face light up. Curious, Alice turned around and was greeted by two older woman, one a tan beauty and the other a woman who could pass off as Abby's older sister.

A twang of jealousy flared up in Alice, but the redhead tried to hide it as Abby introduced the two as Clarissa and Amber respectively. "Oh! How do you do? A friend of Abby's is a friend of mine,"Alice said as she offered her hand to the newcomers.

With both Pulse and Wildfire walking up to the two talking friends, each woman would turn to Alice as she introduced herself smiling and offering introductions of their own to Abby's friend!

"Nice to meet you Alice!"

"Hey. A pleasure." Pulse said with a flat tone, the norm for the doctor, before continuing to talk to Alice as Amber slipped around, leaning over to whisper in Abby's ear.

"So... tell me about yourself." The doctor blankly stated, more of a statement than a question!

The taller woman, Amber, happily greeted Alice before whispering in Abby's ear. Alice felt herself curling a fist but managed to control it. Thankfully, Clarissa asked... well, more like demanded something from Alice.

"Hm? Oh!" Alice said, blushing a bit as she rubbed the back of her head. "Uh, sorry. Was just in my own mind," the redhead explained before she continued. "Well, Abby and I have been friends since we were kids. Though we kinda lost contact after high school, when I went to continue my studies in London," Alice said as she rubbed the back of her head. "And right now, I'm taking a bit of a hiatus."

With Abby distracted by Wildfire's whispering in her ear, Pulse would take the roll of distracting the blonde's friend, though she didn't even come close to putting on any kind of attitude other than her usual "couldn't be bothered" role. Still, Alice's explanation was enough to draw a curious look from Abby as she overheard, nodding quickly to Amber with the messaged delivered before turning and asking Alice the question that had popped into her mind based on that statement!

"Wait a second. You're taking a break from school? You were always so studious though!" Abby questioned, noting that the idea was a bit out of character for her friend!

Alice gave a small sigh of relief as she saw that her explanation satisfied Clarissa. She was so relived that she didn't expect skepticism from a most unexpected source.

"Hm?" Alice said, before she processed Abby's question. "Oh! Um..." Alice stuttered, as she tried to come up with something. The red head didn't expect her friend to pay too much attention to her, seeing she was caught up in whatever Amber was whispering to her.

But as usual, Abby proved to be full of surprises.

"Well, you're always saying I should take a break, so I decided to follow your advice!" Alice answered, rubbing the back of her head with a nervous, awkward chuckle.

Alice's reaction and explanation to Abby's question didn't sit right with the blonde girl, not at all, and Abby's frown only deepened as she titled her head to the side, ready to press the question and see what was really going on here! However, before she would get the chance to, she felt a quick nudge to her side, Amber throwing a slight jab to her side with her elbow in order to signal that they had better do what the two had talked about soon, wishing to wrap it up.

"Well, I've actually got to go Alice! Some... uh... stuff came up! So I'll be seeing you around! But make sure to let me know what you're up to and we can find time to hang out again!" Abby cried, stepping forwards and giving her friend an ultra tight hug, before turning around with a wave, taking off with Amber and Clarissa!

Alice bit her lip at Abby's continued skepticism. Abby was more "on the ball" than people gave her credit for (and Alice would shamefully admit that she was one of those people sometimes). But, the English redhead was saved when Abby's taller friend nudged the energetic blonde, which seemed to persuade Abby to drop the matter.

Still, Alice gave a small frown when Abby said she had to leave. She quickly covered it up though and smiled as Abby said good bye to her. "Good bye Abby, it was wonderful seeing ag-aaaaiinnn!" Alice squeaked as Abby gave the redhead a classic Abby hug... which was a hug that would brake a person's spine!

Alice groaned when Abby let her go. She waved back, clutching her back as Abby left. She felt a whirlwind of emotions coursing through her. Excitement, happiness and relief.

There was one feeling. It only appeared for a second and Alice barely noticed it and immediately discarded it.

It was a twinge of betrayal.
