This Looks Like a Job For...(Feat. Alix Jacques and Starboy)

Alix expected this. She's running a show now. Her father -- speaking with his experience as a CFO -- told her that this would end up eating into her time like she eats into her uncle's beef patties. A plate of which she just so happened to be finishing now. But wow! He certainly called it.

So. Much. Paperwork.

Alright. One last signature aaaand...done. With this stack of papers, that is: She still has more to do. Calls to make. Locations to secure and prepare. Meetings with bookers to discuss next week's card. Speaking of which...

The alarm she'd set on her phone went off, perking her up. It was time to meet with some prospects! The first name on the list was one Jens Olsen, known as Starboy. She's gotten a nice collection of women together for After Dark, but was putting some emphasis on finding suitable men as well. So far, she only had Black Severin and Rai Kamiya on board to cater to those who like to see the guys compete. A great start, but she needed more.

The team she'd put together to assist with the recruitment process recommended Starboy, noting the fans' interest in "Hero vs Villain" scenarios. And Alix herself had noted a couple things from his time in AFW, from his match against Kairi Kamiya in particular. It pulled in ratings, but the most important thing was his reaction when Kairi decided to introduce some Hentai into what was supposed to be a standard contest. He maintained his kayfabe well, but it was clear to her experienced eye that he enjoyed the domination.

She's already got a couple girls in mind for him if this meeting goes well.

Alix exited the back room of her office to wait for his arrival in the

which had been deliberately set up to look like the inside of someone's home, rather than a private space used to conduct business. It was the atmosphere she wanted to provide, to both staff and the wrestlers who were called to walk through her door. Themed primarily in red, her favorite color, with two couches that were cloudlike to the touch, separated by a wooden table. A beautiful chandelier, scented candles hanging on the walls -- they'd been lit just to fill the room with a relaxing fragrance, with the sun doing the real work of lighting the room. She had a few paintings hung up as well, including a portrait that Reine had made of her recently. Alix had just left a social function and wanted to decompress, so she stopped by her place. And Reine liked

so much, she had to capture it in a painting.

Today, Alix was wearing all black: A wool jacket to account for the weather, a dress that was on the conservative side, but still fit her form well and did a fine job of showing off her legs, a pretty set of heels, and of course, some bling to complete the look. Silver earrings and one of her favorite chokers, which had a heart of genuine ruby that was the same shade of red as her lipstick woven into it, with a silver ankh that hung just above the tasteful cleavage her dress presented.

She took a seat on the couch and waited for the knock.

Starboy was intrigued, confused and nervous.

He would have much preferred today to stay in his own apartment, enjoy some warm drinks on this early winter day, and play his favorite computer games. Just relax, and not have a worry in the world, without any need to feel nervous at all.

Or that's at least how he was feeling now, as he was trying to make his way through the endless LAW corridors as inconspicuously as possible in his signature superhero attire. While technically, he was fine with wearing it in public, it was still always just a little... Awkward, to wear it out of match scenario contexts. Luckily, his sense of direction was usually decent, and it had felt relatively easy for the hero to figure out a route to his destination, that was the least likely to have anyone running into him. A gift of a superhero, one could guess.

Still yesterday, the task, and meeting that laid ahead of him, had sounded much more intriguing. Stuff on the edges of one's comfort zone always did, when the completion of it could still be delegated to future you. But Starboy, or rather Jens himself, had actually had a decent reason to get intrigued by what he had been approached with. While his Starboy persona had already gained some decent interest from the LAW management and the viewership, especially when it came to assigning him some more unconventional scenarios and missions - which he absolutely loved, by the way - there was still plenty of room for more. More matches and more action meant more fun, more exposure, and eventually, more income, right? And that's what Starboy strived to keep on top of mind, as he was navigating towards a meeting - one that held the promise of some exciting adventures... Maybe?

Truthfully, Star didn't have much information. He had been reached out to by someone, who was running some kind of a... Side show? Within the broader LAW scene. Apparently someone from the management had referred the Lonely Superhero to them as a suitable candidate for their project. "After Dark", was it called? In any case, while he couldn't help feeling flattered by the attention, he was also confused over what this proposal was really going to be about.

Nevertheless, donning on his hero attire for the meeting had felt like the proper choice to make, as the invitation had been for Starboy after all. Hopefully, he would be right.

Luckily, it seemed that he had finally found the door he'd been looking for. Probably, he wouldn't have to wait long for finally getting some concrete answers. It was time to knock on the door.

Again luckily, he decided to wait for someone to come opening the door. Had he opened it himself, the elegantly decorated space would have prompted him to turn straight away on his heels, issue a quick apology and curse himself for having just entered someone's apartment uninvited in his skimpy hero attire, after mixing up the room numbers, or something...

"Coming!"

Alix rose from the couch to answer the door, so accustomed to greeting her guests this way that she hadn't even thought to say "come in" like somebody in her position probably should. Oh well. That's too small a thing to fret about anyway.

"Hello!" Starboy would be greeted with a warm, sunny smile and a hand to shake. No outward reaction to him wearing so little; her time in porn had her accustomed to seeing people walking around wearing a lot less. He was cute, though. Maybe she'd do a villainess thing with him if this goes well. "Nice to meet you, Starboy! I'm Alix. Alix Jacques." She'd step aside to let him in, gesturing towards the couch. "Come right on in and make yourself comfy." After shutting the door behind him, she'd take a seat across from him.

"How are you today?" She'd started off every meeting this way thus far; with pleasantries and chit-chat before getting down to business. She wants to get to know the people she's signing on. It was exactly why she created an ample time window in between them all. If they happen to not be very conversive, it was no problem: Just call the next one in afterwards -- no biggie.

At least Starboy didn't have to wait for long. In his situation, that kind of prolonged waits tended to be pretty unnerving, especially when knocking on some seemingly random door, while wearing so little. The moment of truth was naturally when the door opened though, and luckily, the lady who answered the door didn't seem to find anything amiss in the situation. Phew!

To be fair, she was even a bit too friendly, outgoing and straightforward about the situation, than Star might have been himself prepared for. The greeting and the smile were very prompt and warm, and the aspiring hero was even a little late with accepting the handshake, taking a moment or two longer than ideal for him to respond to her greeting too. "H-hi. Thank you. Thank you... Nice to meet you, Alix..." he finally managed to come up with, noting that clearly she needed no introductions, while needing to do a few double takes himself into the decorations of the room behind her. Soon he got to take in his surroundings even better though, as the lady promptly directed him in...

Making himself comfy though? That seemed like a stretch. Well, apart from the couch, that he settled on. That was extremely comfy. But the room itself was very different from what he had envisioned for a business meeting... Or for this part of the LAW campus in general. It was surely full of surprises... Which, admittedly, was becoming a fundamental part of LAW's intrigue. But it didn't feel like he had arrived to a situation that he might have been expecting... Although on the contrary, Alix's attire was very business-like. And it, too, was making the hero feel still a little underdressed... Although that was the part he should have been expecting all along. Besides, it didn't look like Alix minded one bit.

Now it was pleasantries time though. Star tried to clear any confusion from his mind, and actually focus on the meeting now. "Oh, I'm good, thank you. Enjoying the winter day." he began, not really wanting to comment on the surroundings at this stage at all. "Of course, eager to hear more of what... Of why... I'm here, of course. I hope I came dressed for the occasion, heh!" he then concluded with a bit of nervous laughter in the end, unable to avoid feeling the need to make some comment of his attire.

"Right to it, eh? Alrighty, well, first I'll say that you are dressed perfectly! It lets me get a good up-close look at what caught the eye of my scouts." Alix clapped her hands together. The gears were turning behind her bright brown eyes. "As you probably guessed by the name, After Dark is focused on the spicier side of the competition. Everything from PG-13 to the X rating, and all the lovely stuff in-between. Within certain limits, of course: No chair shots, blood and guts, or any of that stuff." Her face twisted as she named the aspects of the sport that her show would be doing without, doing little to hide her distaste for them. She spoke with her hands as well, using them as an additional supplement.

"What I wanna do with After Dark is provide both the audience and any interested competitors a more consistently relaxed experience. Competitive, certainly; still very much so. Think of it as the shallow end and the middle of the pool. You know, something where you can dip your toes in, see how you like things, and just explore, without being afraid of going under. Or it getting out to everybody, if you prefer to keep your privacy as you go about these matters. And you can rest assured that I have measures in place to ensure that safety.

And as for where you come in, Starboy? Here in LAW, the people love to see a handsome, upstanding hero like yourself braving its wily, treacherous villainesses."
A quick raising of the eyebrows and conspiratorial smile would tell him exactly where she was going with this. "The demand is ceaseless. Heck, I like to partake in it too! Be it as an observer, a heroine, or one of the wily, treacherous villainesses in question." Her eyes would momentarily lose their focus as her mind went back to her time on set filming "This Ain't Batman". Playing Catwoman was something she had on her bucket list after entering the porn industry. It was a blast making it happen, and the memories brightened an already sunny smile. "It's all good fun to me."

"But anyway!" Back to reality. "My wonderful team and I have already gathered an exquisite roster of ladies who are ready and waiting for a guy like you to help fill that niche. And some of them have come to me with some very interesting, fun ideas that I'm eager to make a reality! Exotic locales, stimulating stipulations, trying circumstances...If you're interested, there'd be a lot for you to do. Plenty of villains that need apprehending."

Starboy never was much for small talk, but he did feel a bit embarrassed hearing Alix's comment. Why wouldn't have he gotten right to it? This didn't really feel like the occasion to talk about the weather... Although he didn't have more than a few seconds to think about that, before the enchanting businesswoman's gaze nailed onto his attire and body... With accompanying remarks of taking a close look at him as well. And admittedly, this was now one of those moments when Starboy really wished that he would have had thirty pounds more muscle... But then again, the woman did look like she liked what she was seeing.

Star's mind was wandering as Alix began quickly describing the basics of After Dark. Only when the dark-skinned lady dropped "chair shots" and "blood and guts" out of her mouth, did the aspiring hero's attention get caught fully again, leaving him trying to recall what sentences he might had just missed. He didn't have much time for that before she continued on to a pool metaphor, that he wasn't really fully following... But he could indeed tell that the lady was trying to make him feel as comfortable as possible, wanting to convince him that everything was going to be easy, safe and pleasant... Which on the other hand, Star had to appreciate... But on the other, real superheroes shouldn't have needed such assurance before taking on new challenges, right?!?

Anyway, Alix soon managed to capture Star's attention in its utmost form, even if her words also inevitably made him blush a little. She was really striving to flatter him now, wasn't she? "Handsome, upstanding hero"? "Wily, treacherous villainesses"? OK, the latter part maybe wasn't flattery, but certainly knowing what strings to pull in any case. "The demand was ceaseless"? For an aspiring hero like him? Even if he wasn't maybe the... Mightiest, biggest and strongest? But he certainly could be the bravest... Or at least try to.

Suddenly though, Alix made the statement of liking to partake in the action too. Star couldn't help letting out a surprised "Oh...", as the lady clad in the businesswoman attire certainly didn't strike to him as someone who would wrestle... But then again, that was a good lesson for a hero. Villainesses apparently could hide in plain sight! In any case, he ended up straightening up his stance a little, subconciously wanting to look like he was ready to take her on, if he was about to become the target of a surprise attack.

One didn't come though, as the lady proceeded to continue her explanation after the brief mutual daydreaming. He was fully alert now, taking in all of her words... And those words were only getting him more and more excited. First of all, he was dying to find out, who exactly were these ladies who were waiting for a guy like him? Secondly, he was also dying to out, what kind of ideas were these exactly? What were the exotic locales, the stimulating stipulations, the trying circumstances... Honestly, right now this sounded like a dream come true. This sounded exactly like what Star had come for to LAW in the first place!

As soon as Alix had uttered the words "plenty of villains need apprehending", the Lonely Superhero sprang onto his two feet, trying to appear as stoic as possible. "Well, I am most certainly ready to take them on... Where do I sign?" the hero declared, before realizing that he wasn't actually sure if he was going to sign anything at all... But even if superheroes didn't really operate under contracts, he still had the feeling that the seemingly professional businesswoman was going to expect him to do so after all... This was LAW anyway.
