Thursday Evening - approximately 2 hours until the start of the show
Sometime had passed from that brutal match with Hazel. Though she fell on the sword in the dying moments of the match, crowning the Highlander as the victor, it was a very gruelling affair, with both their bodies having marked with some nasty injuries; her spine and Hazel's belly being the prominent regions. For about a week she was admitted in the hospital, where her back was tended to and even the early parts of her physiotherapy were kickstarted there. At present, Elena was all but back in shape, with a slight ache still nagging at her back, even though it was very occassional and didn't cause much trouble.
Today, the third match of her LAW career had been scheduled, and from the looks of it, her opponent was another newbie looking to make her mark in this business. Jeanne Hastings was her name and not much could be retrieved about her, as expected of a debutant. But there wasn't even the slightest of complacency creeping up the blonde. This promotion was packed with talent and it would be foolish to underestimate anyone. Her match against Hazel was a case in point. Though she didn't play her down or feel superior in a any way, shape or form; Elena was certainly amazed and surprised by the redhead to come back from the jaws of defeat and turn the match on its head. That's generally not a fresh meat's forte.
So, rule of thumb, never be certain of your chances in a match and expect the worst-case scenarios-always. This was now bored into Elena's mind. Having gotten in the colloseum early, the blonde intended to get some food in from the cafeteria, before getting into some match-practice and a final workout before her match. Elena wasn't bitter about her previous loss at all, having lost fair and square and on merit in a contest going donw the wire, against an excellent wrestler. But still, a sense of dissappointment was still residing inside, gnawing at her for faltering so close to the finish line.
Elena didn't even realise she was inside the cafeteria until she was, which spurred her out of her thoughts. "
Right...Food. Can't go overkill, but cannot starve...." the blonde muttered browsing around, with a protein bar in hand. The refrigerator revealed a freshly stored smoothie which was just what the blonde needed. A pleasant gentle voice rung inside her ears, as she picked the drink out of the fridge. Standing behind her was a woman, exactly her height, but with distinctive purple hair and from her tone, she didn't come looking to beef with her. The woman in question was her opponent for tonight, which was a surprising coincidence. The jury was still out as to whether the said coincidence would be nice or the worst. From the looks of it, Elena could make out that she didn't want any trouble, but chose to be on guard.
You are certainly not mistaken. I am Elena indeed" The blonde would respond with an equally exuberant tone.
"You are Jeanne Hastings, right?" her arm would extend for a handshake, preferring to not be the instigator of a confrontation. Who knows, maybe this woman was genuinely nice.
"We both are scheduled to face each other later, no? Here, have this..." Gingerly placing her smoothie on a nearby table, Elena would then show her the protein bar she had and extend it towards her hand.
"Can't compete when running on empty!" A light chuckle escaped her lips.
