An Ill-Advised Challenge? (for Fairy Dragon)

Unread post by TickTock »

Was this dumb? Probably. But... Allie couldn't think of anything else to do. It had been weeks since she had made her debut in LAW, and even though she picked up the win, she hadn't been booked since. It was leading her to panic, as with not being utilized on any of the shows... she wasn't getting paid. Part of the reason why she signed with LAW was to assure a consistent paycheck that indies could not provide. But if she was just sitting backstage doing nothing, then her pay was severely lacking. She needed to compete to assure she'd get at least some money, and then win to get that winner's purse.

Sure, she was still a rookie, and rookies were expected to spend more time training, but she had trained her whole damn life for this! And it broke her heart that her primary concerns about this were financial, instead of being about her passion for wrestling and not being able to do it consistently.

So, what was she thinking, as a way to get herself booked, and maybe get herself more noticed?

Allie was walking through backstage, searching out for a certain room. A locker room. Not the one given to the young lionesses or newcomers, or the one reserved for the veterans, or any of the weight class divided ones either. No, she was looking for the locker room of one person. A champion who had the privileges of having her own locker room. She had recently won her first official championship in LAW, and had put out a message that if you wanted a match with her, you had to come to her. To show you'd really have to work for it.

And eventually, she reached that room. Looking at the door and seeing the label on it. Belonging to one Kyoko Akan.

The recently crowned middleweight champion, a two-time Belly champion, and an absolute menace in the ring. She was called the Belly Queen for a reason, as she was able to tear apart one's abdomen better than anyone else, and made it a focal point of her offense to do so. Allie wasn't a stranger to such a style, having faced Tara Jaeger as her debut match, and she only got out of that match by a few strokes of luck. What the hell was she going to do going up against a woman who practically mentored Tara?

No. Don't think like that. You beat Tara, and Tara beat her. Allie thought to herself as her fist was raised up, ready to knock on that door. Yet she hesitated. She tried to psych herself up, yet the young prodigy wasn't sure if she should really go through with this. The consequences of what could happen if she made just one mistake...

Gritting her teeth, Allie lowered her hand down... before using her body to burst in through that door and invade that locker room! "Kyoko! I want you in a Belly match, whenever and wherever!" she declared, opting to act before her mind could process it. She can't hesitate if her words come out before her brain can stop her! If this was how she could get booked, then she'd do it, and just maybe, she could pull off the upset.

That is, if Kyoko even gives her the time of day.

Kyoko sighed, taking a seat after the first moment she had to herself since she woke up this morning. Kyoko had always been busy, every day planned out with a few hours for spare time that she used to chill out. As a champion that spare time was slowly shrinking, people backstage wanted to talk to her about big events coming up or photoshoots she had to do, she was invited to public events to see if she would represent the company now that she was recognized as one of LAW's top stars. After another chat like that she finally had time to sit and think about what she should do next, tomorrow was actually looking less busy and she might be able to actually do something fun. She was about to consider calling Fallon to see if they could think of a place for dinner that night when her door was kicked up, startling the Queen.

"Ahh!?" Kyoko gasped startled, her peace and quiet ruined by a challenger who barged in her room, her match idea already laid out. She was being called out for a Belly match in her own locker room by someone she'd never met. "You want to what? Do you know who I am?" Kyoko asked, still very confused by her sudden entrance. Once the confusion passed, recognition set in. "Wait I know you...You're that newbie who fought Tara. Allie right? I thought the taste of the big leagues scared you off, guess you've just been a quiet little mouse." Kyoko said standing up. She moved closer to Allie with her arms crossed. "If you've been watching LAW since you last wrestled you'd know what happened to the last girl who chose to wrestle me. So why would you choose to come knocking on my door after seeing that?" Kyoko asked, trying to see if Allie would back off being so close to the cold champ now that the early surprise was wearing off.

Reality set in when Kyoko stood up and faced her. Meeting her, the two were met eye-to-eye, standing the same height. Yet the Belly champion was far more buiot than her, her stomach trained to perfection for the match Allie just challenged her to, while her own stomach wasn’t exactly flappy, but wasn’t exactly a cheese grater like the champ’s either. Not to mention her more muscular physique. And that was just physical, with Kyoko proving to be even more of a menace in the ring, holding two championships, and having made countless women submit or pass out due to the onslaught to their stomachs.

Yet… Allie refused to let her fear show for any more of a second. Maybe before, Kyoko would’ve liked to take the chance to dispose of a fear-filled rookie, but as champion, her time was far more precious. So, Allie sucked it up… and pushed her body in against the champ’s, going chest-to-chest and belly-to-belly with her. “What I saw is why I want it. You said you wanted better competition… and I beat the girl that broke your stomach in the ring.” Allie said confidently, even if the knot in her stomach was tying stronger by the second. “You saw what I did to her. And I can do the same to you… unless the champ is scared of humiliating herself against a rookie!

Was it convincing? Allie could only hope…

Kyoko stared down her bold challenger, waiting to see if she would wilt. While Allie seemed to realize what she was getting into she still tried to stay strong and continued to lay down her challenge, expressing confidence in her chance at victory by pointing out she defeated Tara. Kyoko scoffed when she implied she was scared to take her on. "You saw what I did to her soon after right? Where I beat her and then made her submit to me before agreeing to train under me when she knew she wasn't on my level?" Kyoko said pressing her head against Allie's to further invade the space Allie had already stepped too close in.

"If I could do that to her and face her head on, what makes you think I would wither in the face of your challenge when I've not only gotten stronger but have taken another belt to go with the one she wanted? I should see that my trainees beat the disrespect out of you for implying that I would be scared of anyone." Kyoko said, glaring at Allie evilly. Eventually she stepped away. "Still I must admit I can at least appreciate that you aren't afraid of a real fight, and to reject you would make me no better than previous champions. You'll get your match, but you should know that barging in here won't go unpunished, I won't go easy on you for a single moment and you will see just how far the gap between us is." Kyoko said, accepting the match and phrasing it like it was a punishment.

Of course, Allie knew about Tara becoming an underling to Kyoko. How Kyoko made her submit. But she hoped bringing up that loss, one of the few instances the Belly Queen had been beaten at her own game, it’d light a fire under her, get her mad, make her accept. And at first, it didn’t seem that way, with Kyoko looking as though she didn’t want to take the challenge, to defer it elsewhere.

Yet, heads and eyes locked, the Belly Queen finally gave her answer, and it was a yes. Though it also came with the promise of punishment for her disrespect. Inside, the prodigal rookie was scared of just what that could mean… but on the outside, she held her frown, using the acceptance as her opening to back away and break eye contact. “I wouldn’t want it any other way. Let’s see how you hold up, champ.” Was all Allie could muster, before backing out of the locker room and leaving. Feet taking her to a manager of LAW to get the match booked. Yet for each second of it, Allie wondered if she really did the right thing. If this was the way she should be going about it.

Not like she had a choice now though. Allie Magalei was facing the Middleweight and Belly champion… and damnit, she’d have to give it her all if she wanted to win!
