Things in LAW had not been going very well for Marlee recently. After a promising start she had only amassed a measly handful of wins while her losses had climbed into double digits. She needed a win, some kind of confidence booster to get herself back on track at last. Waiting back stage clad in her orange wrestling singlet, thigh boots and long gloves, she tried to steady her nerves. It was just another match - she could win this and finally snap this damned losing streak. Tossing her thick locks of brown hairs she puffed out her chest, hands on hips as she waited for the call. Today she was fighting a new wrestler, a lightweight wrestler who on paper shouldn't have stood much of a chance. The prospect was both thrilling and worrying at the same time. It should be an easy win, but if she messed it up...

Her music, Skillet - Sick of It, burst from the speakers and Marlee had to shake that scenario out of her head. She painted a bright smile on her face and burst out into the light, pumping her fists in the air and letting out a wild whoop. There were a handful of jeers that cut through the applause of the fans but she ignored them, zig-zagging back and forth, collecting high fives and blowing kisses as she went.

She mountain the apron and turned to face the stands, hooking her arms over the top ropes to hold herself in place as she popped her hips, putting on a show of confidence as much for the audience as for herself! Grinning, she used the ropes as leverage and heaved herself backwards in a neat flip to land in the ring, raising both hands with index fingers pointed to the sky before she strutted to her corner to await the entrance of her opponent.

While Marlee made her entrance, Lu awaited her turn within the locker rooms. Garbed in her cyan crop top jacket and sports shorts, she paced back and forth. "Damn it..." She sighed to herself. "Just my luck... another size miss-match..." Her foot steps came to a stop as she cupped her chin and considered her opponent. "But I'm against Marlee Jackson this time... Maybe... I can win this one..." Regardless, a LAW official soon arrived and she summoned her to the arena. She clapped her cheeks and headed out.

With her theme heralding her presence, she exited from backstage with the most bold smile she could muster. She marched towards the ring, clambered up the steel stairs, and slipped through the middle ropes. Then she moved over to her corner and pre-occupied herself with some last minute arm stretches.

When she saw Lu enter Marlee couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance. The lightweight wrestler was a lot smaller than her - it didn't look like a fair fight on paper or in person. However, she had to remind herself that she had suffered more than one embarrassing loss to smaller opponents, both male and female. Overconfidence had gotten the better of her before. Not today - she needed this win badly. Once Lu entered the ring the curvy Kiwi took up her position opposite and looked the girl in the eye.

"Good luck, kid," Marlee said, trying not to sound too condescending as she spoke to the diminutive young woman. Trying to keep her head in the game despite the implied insult of placing her on such a mismatched bill, the New Zealander took up her crouched wrestling stance and waited for the bell.

When it rang she kept things simple, attempting to lunge forward into a collar-and-elbow tie up to get a feel for Lu's strength and see exactly what she was dealing with.

At first, Lu avoided looking at Marlee as much as possible, trying to avoid becoming unnerved by her imposing superior size. But their gazes met eventually while Lucy did an arm stretch, though it was her opponent who spoke first. "Yes, you too." She replied in a subdued but determined tone. Soon enough, the bell rung and their match started.

The brunette initiated their bout by lunging forward, seemingly going for a collar-and-elbow tie up. Lu correctly predicted the bad ending that awaited her if she contested that lock-up so she simply didn't. Instead, she ducked, side-stepped, and pivoted towards Marlee's exposed side. Should the bluenette's evasive manoeuvres succeed, she would lunge forwards herself and try to elbow the larger woman right in the ribs.

Marlee lunged for her foe, hoping for a lock up, but Lu wisely opted out of such an exchange, the lightweight skipping aside out of her grasp and leaving her floundering for a brief moment. In that moment, Lu got around to her flank and aimed a blow at the curvy Kiwi's side.

"Ooff!" Marlee exclaimed as Lu's elbow caught her in the ribs, but the reaction was more of surprise than pain as the smaller woman's strike didn't have too much power behind it. Still, she felt a flush of annoyance at having been wrong-footed by the lightweight so quickly.

Twisting to follow Lu's movement Marlee sidestepped, attempting to mirror the other wrestler's move and deliver a vicious elbow to Lu's side, hoping to display the strength disparity between the pair!

Lu's eyes widened. Her elbow successfully hit its intended target yet it didn't appear to have had any effect at all on Marlee, at least, not a desirable effect anyway. Clearly miffed by what just transpired, she swiftly retaliated with an elbow strike of her own. "Oh shit..." Cursing under her breath, Lucy tried to backstep away.

Unfortunately for her, her reaction time proved to be too slow. "Krkkk!.." She wheezed as her opponent repaid her for the earlier elbow, also bashing her side with an elbow. Her expression wincing in agony, she clutched her aching side and staggered backwards on unsteady feet. She didn't even travel that far before her legs gave way and she collapsed onto her knees. Which meant that Marlee had quite the ample oppurtunity to press her advantage.

Marlee's retaliation had more impact that she expected it too, her elbow thumping solidly into her lightweight foe's flank with full force. Lu let out a wheeze of pain and staggered away... only to crumple to her knees after the powerful blow.

"Sorry, girl," Marlee quipped. "But I'm not here to take things easy on you!"

And with that she stepped around in front of Lu and raised one boot, and slammed it hard into Lu's chest. Leaning forward with her attack, Marlee attempted to shove Lu all the way back and flatten her to the canvas, using the smaller wrestler as a stepping stone and pressing her full weight down to thoroughly wind her foe!

Lu let an irritated groan when she heard Marlee's words. "Shut-guh!" Before Lucy could respond however, her opponent's boot struck her chest with full force. However, Marlee didn't stop there; she continued stepping on Lu. "Aarggg!.." She let out an agonised cry as she felt the full weight of the larger woman squash her chest, driving the air out of her lungs.

Feeling her ribs strain and crack from the crushing pressure, she frantically move to pry away Marlee's foot but that was a futile venture. Lucy's heels scraped across the mat as she continued struggling in vain, her back arching in failed attempts to buck off the brunette's boot. "K-kuso!.." Lu couldn't help cursing in her native tongue, her cheeks slightly blushing at her humiliatingly poor performance thus far.

Marlee drove her boot squarely into Lu's chest and the effect was immediate, the lightweight crumpling under the pressure until she was laid out flat on the canvas with the curvy Kiwi's foot planted on her body. Marlee stepped over her, letting her full weight squash down on her diminutive foe for just a moment before removing her foot.

"Not done yet, c'mon girl," she muttered, stooping down to grab Lu by the hair and drag her upright. With the other wrestler on her feet again, Marlee would then attempt to fling her into an Irish whip to the far ropes. Assuming Lu couldn't stop the momentum, Marlee would catch her foe on her return journey and sweep her up into the air, before slamming her back down hard across one knee for a thunderous back breaker!

"Nhhh..." Lu weakly moaned when her opponent finally stopped stepping on her. Still winded, she remained a listless heap on the floor with the only movement from her body being the rapid rising and falling of her aching chest. Unsurprisingly, Marlee had no intention of allowing Lucy any respite, yanking her by her hair before whipping her to the ropes.

With no means of resisting or countering, she stumbled haplessly into the ropes and rebounded back into the New Zealander's grasp. Before the Japanese wrestler knew it, she was lifted off the ground and subjected to a devastating back breaker. "GARG!" She coughed out as pain spiked through her spine courtesy of Marlee's knee. Then she flopped face first onto the canvas, returning to her prior state of motionlessness save for her laboured breaths.
