Athena Wonder vs. Scarlaheart - Red and Red Don't Mix

Athena Wonder would be having a match tonight, this time against someone named Scarlaheart. There was not much she knew about her other than her being a middleweight. Considering that she was a heavyweight, she had a rather obvious advantage over her opponent, and the blonde bombshell wouldn't waste such opportunity in order to win this match and build up her reputation here in this promotion.

Once she was done, she made her entrance, marching her way out to the ramp, where she received a pop from the crowd. Just to give these people a little bit of fanservice, Athena flexed her arms, showcasing her perfect figure to the crowd, much to their rejoice. Then, she walked down the ramp before she finally arrived. Athena would make sure to give them quite a show as she walked to the ring.

Now that she was in the ring, Athena made her way towards the corner, where she would wait for her opponent to make her appearance. Draping her arms over the top ropes, she leaned against the turnbuckle as she looked at the entrance so that she could see her opponent whom she would be facing tonight clearly.

As Athena Wonder’s entrance fizzled into quiet, Scarlaheart graced the L.A.W world with her presence. She’d march out, focused with narrowed eyes. Donning a full suit of tight black, cloaking every limb in raven except her face, velvet eyes, liquid rose hair and a scarf that halved her visage. The Reinhardt’s presence is met with distaste, yet they didn’t even earn her glance. Instead, she paced down the rampway, eyes glued on the ring itself. And as her boots kissed the steel steps, she stared at her opponent’s heroic attire and scoffed, “Great, a confidant loser.”

After speaking her disapproval, she threw one leg betwixt the middle and top rope, weaving herself in-between and stomping onto the canvas. For a time, her back was turned while occupying her corner. Now to prepare. First, she unravelled her scarf, stowing it underneath the turnbuckle. Then she stood, turning towards the referee.

“Worry only for raising my hand when this debacle is over.” She’d declare.

Now, something for her opponent. She stepped forward, thrusting her finger towards their face.

“I hope you’re ready to see the lights, hero.”

She spoke firmly, making her promise known before retreating towards her corner, leaving only the bell to separate the pair.

Athena watched her opponent as she showed up. The blonde smiled confidently, thinking that her opponent might be underestimating her. Not that she minded, of course. All that mattered in the end would be her winning this match. And she would make sure that the other woman, Scarlaheart, would learn the folly of her action.

So, Athena remained unmoving at her corner before the referee called for both of them to the center of the ring. Rolling her shoulders, Athena left her corner and stood face to face in front of Scarlaheart. She was bigger than her opponent, and the mature blonde was planning to make use of her size to her advantage.

After making sure that both women were ready, the referee called for the bell, starting the match. Athena wished to ascertain her opponent's strength first as she would hold up her hands, looking to engage Scarlaheart in a grapple. The way she moved seemed to give more emphasis to her sculpted frame, and her skintight outfit made it more pronounced.

There was something that itched her about Athena’s smile. It tickled her nape, filled her fists with heat, aching to burst all across the heavyweight’s jawline. Or her feet, it didn’t matter.

After the bell sang, Maria stopped and waited. Observing their approach and subsequent challenge, her head turned slightly. This was dangerous. Frontal assaults always botched, she concluded. How would a middleweight contend with a heavyweight? Yet, she found an answer—a risk at best, betting on agility.

Her feet slid forward like snails, arms raising in unison. Digits curled and unfurled, taking a deep breath through the nose and out the mouth. Ok, now, attack! Once their hands nearly touched, Maria’s upper-half ducked, lunging forward, she hoped to weave herself underneath Athena’s arm and take her flank. In swift succession, she threw a kick aimed at Athena’s thigh, punishing their attempt to tie-up. Whether it landed or not didn’t matter because she withdrew towards Athena’s corner, carving some necessary distance. There, she'd lounge her arms across the top rope, appearing comfortable with a lopsided smile across their face.

Athena watched her opponent carefully, hands held up as she prepared herself to lock up with her in a grapple. But when they were about to engage in the lock up, her opponent suddenly ducked and slipped past her, delivering a kick right at her thigh along the way. Athena was caught slightly off-guard by this, hissing as she took the hit, though the damage wasn't all that much.

As for Scarlaheart, she managed to move away from Athena, getting herself towards the corner where she draped her arms over the top ropes, showing a smile to Athena. Frowning, Athena turned around, recovering her bearing as she then faced her opponent who managed to slip past her. For the time being, she would observe what Scarlaheart would do next. She was a seasoned veteran, so she wouldn't simply charge blindly towards her opponent just because she managed to slip past her.

Dressed with a smile, the opening strike a mere prelude.
Now, she stood tucked inside the corner, arms splayed across the top-ropes, eager for their response. She waited at first, vying to bait them into a move where her feet stood nimble and ready to worm by them. This time, they didn't pursue. Manifesting a smile, her one foot tapped the mat, waiting a little longer before pushing off. Her right foot stomped, claiming her domain near the corner.

"Tch. What are you, an old woman? Let's fight!"

Both arms outstretched; fingers splayed wide, ready to accept Athena's lock-up challenge from before. She advanced three steps, stomping on the last. Her arms shot forward, preparing to start some pure and honest wrestling! Hah, yeah, right. If Athena fell for Maria's bait, she'd nothing but wind; thrusting her boot towards their stomach in hopes to force a lurch. Should she succeed, her arm went across her chest and swung, backhanding Athena across her cheek.

Athena rolled her eyes when she heard her opponent's words. "Well, yeah. I mean, I'm in my forties," she retorted. Then, she saw Scarlaheart approaching her, seemingly trying to go for a lock up, for real this time. Athena narrowed her eyes, already suspicious of her thanks to her action last time. And she knew that she couldn't simply trust her opponent to start off things cleanly and honestly.

Sure enough, when Athena was about to accept the lock up, Scarlaheart went to bring up her foot to her stomach. But this time, Athena was prepared. The moment her opponent's foot touched her stomach, Athena would try to seize it, and from there, she would attempt to give her foot a twist, hoping to bring her down with a sudden dragon screw takedown!

She couldn't help but snicker. It was genuine, splashed with surprise, that really loosened her composure. Only for a second, that was, until she came back with another quip.

"Could've fooled me for fifties."

Thus, she re-entered the fray, and the result was bitter. Although her foot found purchase in their flesh, Athena seized the limb. In moments, her ankle cried out, the strength commanding her body to turn. Sharp pain spanked her back, a twisting pinch cusping her thigh as she landed on the mat. Dizziness plagued her vision, albeit only for a moment. Once her senses snapped back, she sought to use her other foot and thrust against the mat, executing a backroll. Her feet kissed the canvas, then, one side limped. One-eye closed, hissing out as it stung. She'd grab the rope and start hobbling, going for the other corner to carve some distance between them.

Athena managed to bring Scarlaheart down with the dragon screw takedown, though Scarlaheart managed to get away before Athena could take advantage of this. Deciding to prepare herself for what to come, Athena would maintain her distance as she watched her opponent moving towards the corner while hobbling.

"What's the matter? You should have no problem dealing with a fifty-year-old woman like me," Athena said in a bit self-deprecating manner. She was aware of her own age, though she was still pretty proud of her appearance. "Don't tell me... you're afraid of me?" She grinned, trying to gauge her opponet's reaction by taunting her.

Scarlaheart limped like a wounded elk. Her feet peppered the ground, slinging her armpit over the top to ease the weight. However, Athena didn’t capitalize. Not a cautious approach, nor a rampaging charge. Why? Perhaps she’s underestimating their experience. Most competitors were young and vibrant, and veterans stood like a treasure. They knew how to avoid the risk of counters, like charging an opponent head-on. And so, as her head dipped over the rope, dragging herself along, she pondered. Then she stopped, placing both feet on the ground, and flipped her hair back.

They were antagonizing her. Maria saw it and huffed.

“Hmph. Says the relic in colourful tights.”

Her voice trailed off into a growl.

She released the ropes, inching forward, arms raised. Her fingers flexed, hinting towards another lock-up. And like before, Scarlaheart had no intention of comparing strength. Instead, when the distance narrowed to two feet, her hands lowered, shoulder shooting forward to spear their gut. If successful, her arms enveloped their waist, giving one huge push as one of Maria’s feet flanked Athena’s own. Hopefully, it resulted in a trip!
