Jessica sat back in her chair. She had been in big matches before. Back in her federation in Iowa, she had won the title belt and had a longer title reign than most women could even dream of. Here at LAW, she had gotten a shot at the Middleweight Title. And all in between, she had been headlining and drawing in crowds that filled the arena to the brim.
But tonight felt different. It felt big, the same way all those other matches did. But more than that, it felt like something was off, the same way a dog would feel after it caught the whiff of a tornado in the air. The Violent Violet had faced down foes who were bigger than her, but it was incredibly rare that she faced down someone who was more brutal.
And when it came to the redheaded woman that she would be wrestling with tonight, the question of the most brutal did not have a clear answer. Well, not one that Jessica would like to admit, at any rate. Jessica was telling herself that she would like to go straight, to give up her savage ways and become a real wrestler for once in her life. Tonight, like never before, she knew that such thoughts would be put to the ultimate test.
When she was a girl, she saw what her opponent could do. Sarah had beaten Akashi in her debut. She had taken on every legend that the other fed had, and left a swath of destruction in her wake that would be worthy of Timur the Lame. She had won the title. And tonight, she would be taking on Jessica.
Jessica sat up. She took stock of the woman looking back at her in the mirror. In that set of purple eyes, there was hunger. There was fury. There was strength. If she were to win the match, she would need all three of them and more. Jessica thought of a plan of attack. The redhead would have no mercy for her, which was fine by the Violent Violet. All that meant was that Jessica would have to come out hard and come out fast. Swinging for the fences was the best shot she had at winning, and that would be tough because Sarah could probably take a stick of dynamite blowing up six inches in front of her face with a grin on her face.
She stood, and then made her way down the hallways. Tonight would be full of potential pitfalls, and she understood what that meant better than anyone else in the arena. But if she won, if she won, well, that would be something. Just another notch on the bedpost for her to show that Jessica was the baddest woman at the federation.
Little sister there's blood on the tracks...
Jessica appeared to a torrent of boos. That made Jessica smirk. If they didn't like her, they were really not going to like the woman that she would be facing tonight. The smirk quickly turned into a serious look as she made her way down to the ring. She liked to antagonize the fans before she made her way to the ring, but it wasn't right for the moment. Jessica slid under the bottom rope, and stared at her opponent.
"Looks like the years haven't been kind to you," Jessica jeered.
"But I bet you look pretty good when you're knocked the fuck out." She spread her arms wide, inviting the atavistic and purifying violence that only a wrestling ring could summon.
