Match Type: Standard Match
Rules: Victory by pinfall, submission, or knockout

Another day, another match, another reason to drag the Briton out of her apartment and away from her collection of assorted liquors. She shouldn't complain too much, she supposed. After all, these matches did keep her fed with a roof over her head and a bottle in her hand. But still, Millie sometimes wished that she could just stay at home drunk all day, every day.

That said, dragging her away from her booze didn't necessarily mean that she went without. That much she was thankful for as she slipped a flask out of her purse, uncapped it, and took a swig as she waited for her theme to start. Then another, for courage.

Her opponent was apparently some new girl, so the Briton figured it was 50/50 as to whether she'd be facing a raging bitch, or some wide-eyed idealist who wanted to be friends forever. The former made her want to drink more just so that she'd have enough of a buzz that she could ignore the inevitable edginess. The latter made her want to drink to boost her patience just that little bit more. But, she'd probably had enough. If she wanted to make it down to the ring without stumbling at least, and she could hear her theme playing over the speakers. Showtime.

Summoning the best blank look she could, Millie began her march down the ramp to the ring below. Cheers and jeers surged from the crowd. Now that the Briton had been in a few matches, she'd gained a few fans it seemed. Plus a few people that wanted to see her crushed under her opponent's heel. But the Briton pushed them all out of her mind. She was here to fight, and she was focused on that. Playing to the crowd could mean defeat, and that was something she'd like to avoid.

Climbing inside the ropes, Millie strode over to the nearest turnbuckle like she had so many times before. Well practiced steps, each timed with the beat of her song with military precision. Then she climbed up onto the ropes and stared out past the crowd, firing off a well practiced salute and finally dropping back to the canvas. There she turned, facing the ramp and waiting for her opponent as her foot tapped impatiently on the canvas.

At long last, it was time - Michiko's LAW debut! The past few weeks, the girl had been practicing and training in anticipation for this day, and now it had come. She'd been honing her skills every day in the gym to make sure that they were sharp for when she needed them most, but the real test was yet to come, when she would stand up against a real opponent in the ring. Michiko wasn't afraid, though - it may have been new, but she'd been rehearsing this so many times by now, she practically knew it all down pat already. Surely there wasn't that much that could go wrong, she thought, as she finally heard her music hit. Now it was on.

With her music starting, Michiko was quick on the draw, doing a flip as she ran out onto the entrance ramp so that she landed feet first, her hand stretched out in front of her to mimic a punch to show that she was ready for action. Her high-energy attitude stood in sharp contrast to Millie's laconic demeanor as she ran in towards the ring, holding her hand out to slap those of the crowd as she passed by their barricade. When she got closer to the ring, she jumped forward to throw herself in under the bottom rope, rolling a short distance away before she jumped to her feet. At first she took a stance similar to what she had done before, but it would soon become evident that this was just for show - and indeed it drew some applause - since her next move would be to get out of her pose, getting up and holding a hand out to Millie. If this was going to be her first time in the LAW ring, she thought, there was no use in not taking the trouble to get acquainted with her would-be opponent.

"Hey there," she said. "The name's Michiko. This is gonna be my first match, but don't think you need to go easy on me, because I'm here to make a stand!"

As Millie stood waiting, the tapping of her foot slowed then finally came to a halt as her theme faded out, and was soon replaced by another one. One that she hadn't heard before, backstage or in the ring. This must be the new girl. The Briton smirked a little as she slid backwards and rested in the turnbuckle, watching Michiko's entrance intently with that cold, blank stare of hers. While she wasn't expecting to gleam any groundbreaking knowledge by scoping out her opponent's entrance, she may at least be able to piece together what kind of girl she was stepping into the ring with. A heel, a face, or something more annoying?

Then her opponent ran out and flipped into view, revealing a violet-haired... what? Ninja? Millie couldn't help but roll her eyes a little, that energetic display was sure pushing the Japanese-woman into the third of Millie's categories. The jump through the ropes and pose just pushed her further into that group. Millie had seen enough of the 'energetic I just wanna be friends' type before. One of them was a drinking buddy of hers, and as lovely as she was sure they were outside the ring, inside... well, at least she could pummel a heel into the ground without feeling bad. Not like that would stop her anyways.

Pushing herself out of the ring with a clap of her hands, Millie stretched her neck out before looking Michiko up and down with that blank stare of hers. Raising an eyebrow, she stood there for a moment in silence before extending her won hand, taking her opponent's. "Millie. Chuffed." She replied simply, following it up with a, "Don't worry. I won't." This upstart better give it her all, because the Briton certainly was.

Seeing the chilly reception she got from Millie, Michiko couldn't help but be a little disappointed, and she sighed a little. She supposed it was better than her opponent dismissing her entirely, or worse taking the low road and mocking her. But she had put a lot of thought into that entrance, and if her opponent wasn't even a little impressed by it, what was the point?

Nevertheless, Millie didn't seem all bad. She even held her hand out, and Michiko dutifully took it. But it was decidedly less in keeping with the energy she had hoped for with her LAW debut. She supposed she only had the action in the ring to let her know what she could expect.

DING DING DING

Sure enough, the match was on. Michiko was quick to jump into a stance, lowering herself and putting up her hands, but it was more of a show of force than anything else, as well as a means of getting the crowd worked up. Soon after, she got back up to step in closer and initiate a lockup, figuring this would be the best way of testing Millie's character. She didn't quite know what she had to expect with Millie's cold demeanor, but seeing if she'd agree to meet on even terms or try to pull the strings to her advantage would determine what she was dealing with. "Let's see what you're made of."

Millie could see the disappointment in Michiko's eyes. Her opponent's sigh and the drop in energy made it obvious that she had been hoping to make a bigger impression, to impress her opponent. Well, that was too bad. Millie wasn't here to be impressed. She was here to win. The Briton had a reputation to mend and maintain, and gushing at her opponent's entrance wasn't going to do either of those things.

But still, she had shook hands with the woman. Michiko should take that as a sign that despite the stoic appearance, she had at least made enough of an impact to win her opponent's respect.

For the time being at least.

DING DING DING

And then it was on. The match had begun and Michiko jumped into a stance. Really? The Briton was here for a fight, not to see who could show off better, and she couldn't quite hold back a half eye-roll at that little antic. Out of respect, Millie didn't put a boot in Michiko's face. She wasn't a heel after all, but there were other women who wouldn't have thought twice about it. Instead she dropped into a more practical combat stance, watching and waiting until the ninja-looking woman moved in with a challenge and a lockup stance.

Millie felt a tang of irritation as she saw that. Lockups weren't her thing, speed was. And rooting yourself in place when you wanted to move was a poor tactical decision. It may have been honourable, but it was also pretty damn dumb. So instead she simply nodded at the challenge, then rushed forwards with a football tackle as she sought to knock Michiko on her ass, all while only uttering a simple, "Sure."

Seeing that Millie drew closer, Michiko's smile grew. It looked like she was going to return the lockup, and she had to appreciate that. An opponent who would be willing to lock up with her was one who she could trust, who was willing to face her on even terms. If Millie was such an opponent, Michiko could respect her, and maybe they would even become friends. Maybe she could count on the members of LAW to be respectable and honorable in their pursuit of the sport.

It soon dawned on Michiko that was a load of hogwash. Millie wasn't coming closer for a lockup; she was preparing to attack, and the next thing Michiko knew she had been tackled off her footing! She landed with a thud, and a gasp, her hope betrayed then and there. She would have thought Millie was better than this! Her eyes went wide in surprise at first, but they soon narrowed into a glare, as she realized that with such an underhanded bully, it was no time to show any weakness to her foe. Surely Millie was the kind of villain who would take any sign of weakness as an invitation. Michiko swiftly rolled herself off to the side, putting the distance between herself and the Englishwoman before starting to get to her feet. "I had thought better of you!" she said as she got back into a stance. "I see now that I can't expect you to meet me on any even ground. I'll have to show you the fruits of your ill doings!"

Millie's momentum kept her moving even after Michiko had been deposited down on the canvas, only catching and slowing herself at the ropes where she turned to keep her eyes on her opponent. She had been expecting some kind of disappointment from the ninja, but what she got was far more than just that. Michiko rolled off and kept some space between them before launching into some kind of rant.

The Briton tilted her head and looked at the violet-haired woman like she had just grown a second head. "Pardon?" She asked. The fruits of her ill doings? What was this girl on about? Was this about the lockup thing? Someone was taking things personally. Millie was here for a match, and that didn't leave much room for dumb acts of needless valor.

Speaking of fighting... Millie wasn't going to let her opponent just stand there and talk. She bounced back against the ropes, once, then twice, getting ready for her charge at the woman. On the third bounce the Briton let the momentum push her and took off with a running start. Charging at Michiko, the former pilot would throw her arm out and try to smash into her opponent with a running clothesline!

When Michiko saw that her attempt to talk big and call her opponent out on her duplicity went a good deal less noticed than she had hoped for, she couldn't help but be a little disappointed. Believing in honor and justice as strongly as she did, Michiko's admittedly high and romantic outlook on the world had led her to believe that dramatic speeches like these worked, or that they'd actually have some effect. But Millie just shrugged it off, as though Michiko had said nothing. It always worked on TV and in the comics, she thought! Sighing, Michiko's eyes narrowed at Millie, but she wasn't going to let this slow her down.

Getting on her feet, Michiko watched as Millie ran back and forth between the ropes, bouncing from one side of the ring to the other. She tensed whenever the Briton passed her by, but kept her eyes on her. She could see that Millie was planning something, but she wasn't going to let her get there. In winding up like this, Millie was giving Michiko time to react! As she passed by her once, Michiko went to quickly dodge out of her way, and then as she passed by on the rebound, she would catch her, going to ride on her momentum to throw her down with a suplex!

Millie did feel a little bad, for a moment, as she saw the look on Michiko's face. She looked disappointed. It felt a little like kicking a puppy, admittedly a puppy that was bound to try and get up and kick her in the face, but still. But the Briton stuck to her guns and pushed the minute sense of guilt back. After all, it was much better that her opponent learn that lesson here than facing down one of the nastier heels that the roster had to offer.

So she sprinted at Michiko, aiming to drop the ninja girl back down on her ass and teach the noob a lesson. Getting in close as the violet-haired woman stood, Millie extended her arm, bracing herself for impact!

Except, none came.

The Briton skidded past Michiko, glancing at the newbie out of the corner of her eyes as the ninja ducked out of the way, dodging the blow completely and following the evasive action by riding Millie's momentum to throw her into a suplex!

The Briton's eyes went wide as she found herself flying through the air, carried by her opponent down to the canvas below. "OOPH!" She grunted, the moving having taken her by surprise. Okay, so maybe this newbie wasn't as inexperienced as she had thought...

Seeing the fruits of her effort, Michiko's face broke out into a smile, quite contrary to her earlier dour disposition. Striking down evildoers was one thing, but it meant all the more when she got to turn their own moves against them, to show them their deeds wouldn't pay! And as Millie fell down hard, this would be no exception, she knew.

With Millie landing flat, Michiko struck another pose to the crowd, raising her hand in her sheer excitement of making such a move on her foe. "Hah!" she proclaimed, putting a little more theatrics into her move. Then, she fell forward with her arm outstretched, going to land an elbow drop on her downed foe!
