As was her usual way, Blossom came strutting from the curtain with a smile on her face, making her way down to the ring and slapping a few hands with the crowd as she went. While she could still feel the jitters coursing through her veins, the terror of being in front of millions was starting to wear off, giving way to a cautious optimism. People said all sorts of bad stuff about LAW’s audience, and she’d seen enough to know that it wasn’t all unearned, but they all seemed okay tonight. Just a bunch of guys looking to watch a good wrestling match. Nothing too serious.Dear Diary,
Got another match! Let’s goooooooooooooooo!
Management was pretty iffy about it with how the last one went; worried I might get hurt again, but really? I’m stoked. I’ve been asking them for another chance on live TV for months - no house shows, no sparring matches the real thing. Okay, so maybe ‘asking’ is the right word. Sending lots of emails, knocking on their doors, occasionally ambushign them when they come out of the restroom, that sort of thing. -_-; But it worked! That’s what’s important.
I haven’t had time to research my opponent, but I know she’s been around for a lot longer than I have, pretty experienced. Maybe I can make this a learning thing? The last person I wrestled was a total buttface, definitely not looking forward to having that experience again, but I don’t want to hold that against Seraphina.
Maybe I’m just too hopeful. It would be nice to make a friend, here. Japan is a fun place, the people are pretty cool, but it’s still pretty hard while I’m getting the language down pat. It’s a lot more cramped than it was back home, still trying to get use to the transportation system, still trying to figure everything out. But I want this to be a career, I want to make this place mine, you know? So I’m sticking with it. Every day is a little better than the last.
So, wish me luck. First win? Cross your fingers.
That was what she kept repeating in her head, at least, as her played in the background. She skipped along to the tune that never failed to get her in a wrestling mood and slid in under the bottom ropes, nearly knocking over a surprised referee. Blossom apologized to the poor woman, then quickly made her way over to the further corner and began her stretching routine, wanting to be nice and limber by the time the bell rang.
