In an effort to secure lucrative US TV rights, the promoter had also specified a slightly unusual title and format for this bout - the Rodeo Stampede.
Victory in the one fall match would be awarded to the wrestler who successfully herds her opponent into the bull pen, keeping her locked in for the duration of a 10-second countdown. That aside, standard match rules would apply (if you can call it that when a rodeo stadium floor is prone to mud, and the only falls to count would be those that end up inside the bull pen).
Cathy's nose twitched as she changed into her favourite wrestling attire, the yellow and brown chequered bikini top and cut off denim shorts that offset her blond hair and golden applefresh complexion perfectly. Even the dressing room smelled a little of livestock the All American girl noted. But at least she felt entirely comfortable in a rodeo situation which was probably more than could be said of her opponent, whose home country could hardly be said to have developed such a noble tradition as riding bulls and broncos until they were tamed and put back in their stalls.
Cathy sensed that she was going to be popular from the start: after all she was blonde and she was American, with white shiny teeth and healthy skin. Furthermore, the fans would soon grow to recognise and love her as an out-and-out 'face', who always wrestled firm but fair. She could hardly wait when it was time to make the long walk down through the crowds to the rodeo ringside. She would hug a few fans on the way and give as many high fives as she had time for, never forgetting to present her very sweetest apple-cheeked smile towards the rolling cameras at all times.
