Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2

Unread post by Hills »

W Y V E R N vs. Alizeh Midori
Match Type: Best 2/3 Falls
Rules: Match ends when one wrestler achieves two pinfalls or submissions on their opponent.

In the three months (nearly to the day) since Saoirse's debut at LAW, she had barely gone a day without turning it over in her mind. Her successes. Her failures. Coming up with ways she could have done better. Formulating counters for the most effective tactics used against her. The match had been by far the most physical contest she had ever experienced while restricted by conventional wrestling rules, and she had immediately recognized a drive and passion in Alizeh that mirrored her own. It had been the most she'd enjoyed herself in years, but that was simultaneously the problem. While she rarely cared about winning or losing, her defeat at Alizeh's hands had stung. She had truly wanted to win, but that simply hadn't been enough. So when the possibility of a rematch had come up, she had jumped at the opportunity.

From inside the gorilla position, Saoirse compulsively adjusts her gloves for what feels like the thousandth time since she finished her preparations for the match to come. An unpleasant sensation writhes within her belly. Nerves, she recognizes, but the feeling was largely foreign to her and its presence was an unwelcome irregularity. The hungry anticipation she usually felt before a match was nowhere to be found, chased out by her anxious excitement. She'd do better this time. She had to.
Spoiler
As the opening of her entrance music plays, Saoirse bounces on the balls of her feet, attempting to work out some of the nervous energy. The music has a calming effect on her as she does so. Whatever her emotional state, she's still Wyvern. Violence is her stock in trade, and that's what she's here to do. Everything else is secondary by comparison. Just as the lyrics start, she surges her way out onto the stage, any remaining traces of uncertainty undetectable through her forcefuly body language. Setting her sights on the ring, she strides forward without hesitation, as usual failing to play to the crowd at all. Unlike last time, she gets a noticeable reaction. Primarily negative, and not especially loud, but certainly a far cry from where she had been when she first started. Even jeers were better than the silence. It's certainly not loud enough to impede the announcer, however.

The following contest is set for three falls. Making her way to the ring, from Drogheda, Ireland, weighing in at 137 pounds...WYVERN!

Pulling herself up and onto the ring apron, Wyvern steps through the ropes and paces out into the middle of the ring. Rather than taking her usual seat in one of the far corners, she walks just past the exact center of the ring before turning around and folding her arms. The ghost of a smile briefly plays across her lips as she fastens her gaze to the stage, awaiting her opponent.

Three months. It had been three months since Alizeh's match against the debuting Wyvern. It had been one of the most brutal, hard hitting and physical matchups that she had ever taken part in... and Alizeh had loved every moment of it. Unlike most of the fans watching Alizeh was able to see underneath Wyvern's dark and hard exterior and in her own way bonded with the dark haired girl. On the surface the two were polar opposites, but deep down the two were warriors who wanted to bring the most out of both themselves and their opponent. Naturally this meant it was only a matter of time until the two met once more in a contest that was almost guaranteed to surpass their first in terms of brutality and epicness.

"Two out of three falls. I guess I have a gravitation for this kinda match." Alizeh said to herself with a chuckle as she finished lacing her boots up before getting to her feet. Wearing her usual white and orange gear with leopard print accents she would roll her neck, a solemn look of confidence on her face as she shook herself lightly as a final preparation for the match at hand. Having known first hand the brutality and endurance necessary for a two out of three falls match. The last one she had against Kurokage being proof, and before her Sanae Saitou being one of the highlights of Alizeh's LAW career. Now she was in such a match against someone as big as her and as tough. Undoubtedly it'd be one of Alizeh's toughest contests to date.
Spoiler
Image
Heading up to the entrance area Alizeh would give a smile at the backstage worker who nodded back, giving her a countdown as the last tunes of Wyvern's entrance song faded out before Alizeh's own song began playing, preluded by the sounds of lightning and thunder before the song kicked in proper, followed by the cheers and whoops of the fans at Alizeh's entrance as the green haired girl came, out posing proudly for the fans with a smile on her face.
Spoiler
"Now making her way to the ring, from Port Aransas, Texas, weighing in at 153 pounds... The Emerald Storm.... Alizeh Midori!!!"

As her name was announced the crowd would explode into further cheers for the Emerald Storm as she threw both hands up in the air for the crowd. Marching down to the ring with a small, confident smile on her face Alizeh would hop up onto the ring apron before swinging her leg over the middle rope before slipping her way into the ring fully. As she did so Alizeh would match right up until she was face to face with Wyvern. Stepping forward until their chests were touching Alizeh would smirk wildly at Wyvern. "I've been waiting for round two." She said simply, staring into her foes eyes, waiting for a response.

As Alizeh makes her way through her entrance and descends towards the ring, Wyvern's eyes never leave her opponent's face. While Alizeh's ability to play to the crowd had provoked contempt from her the first time, Wyvern is now able to recognize it as another part of their shared craft. One she had never bothered with, and which couldn't affect the outcome of the match, but still an inseperable piece of the larger whole. Without the investment of the crowd, emotional and financial, the industry wouldn't exist. The idea of learning to improve her people skills was no longer inconceivable to Wyvern, but it was also far in the future. She had so much more to learn, and do, first.

Defeating Alizeh Midori, for instance. That was close to the top of her list of priorities.

Wyvern rolls her shoulders and neck as Alizeh closes in on the ring, loosening herself up one more time before things descended fully into what would no doubt be a truly brutal back-and-forth. Alizeh can see Wyvern's mouth slowly split into a displeasing, thin rictus grin as she gets closer, which is still perhaps the closest thing to a genuine smile she's seen on the young woman's face. When Wyvern catches the expression, however, she quickly pulls herself back into a state of composure. Whatever else she might be, "expressive" is not on the list. Wyvern doesn't flinch when Alizeh reaches her, allowing the taller wrestler to keep advancing until their chests touch. Eyes burning behind crimson contacts, she actually pushes in even further, bringing her forehead into contact with Alizeh's own, further closing the gap between them.

"Be careful what you wish for. No promises you'll be able to walk out on your own after this."

Despite her combative tone and threatening words, Alizeh has already seen behind the mask of Wyvern's behavior. There's no malice, only excitement. She approaches conversations like she approaches most everything else: as a head-on confrontation, seeking the path of most resistance. Conflicts where the weak are ground to dust, but the strong emerge sharper and harder than ever. To Wyvern, anything less isn't worth the effort.

As soon as Alizeh entered the ring the first thing the green haired girl did was walk right up to Wyvern and get right up in her face, knowing it was the way that worked best as far as communicating with the dark haired woman went. Then as if to further prove her point Wyvern stepped even closer, practically mashing the two's bodies together, their faces separated by mere fractions of centimeters while their foreheads pressed up against each other.

"Heh.." Smirking and letting out a quick chuckle Alizeh wouldn't miss a beat, already competing with Wyvern, only raising a arm up to the side to stop the ref as they came close, no doubt to separate the two, but Alizeh would have none of that until the match started. "Please if I could walk out fine than this wouldn't be as fun as I've been looking forward too." Alizeh said confidently, acknowledging the real possibility of injury and pain that came with this match.. and welcoming it with a smile. She had been waiting for this just as long as Wyvern, thought about their first match, and fully expected that Wyvern could do anything and everything possible to beat her this time... and that thought excited her to no end.

Although that didn't mean Alizeh couldn't have some fun with Wyvern. "If memory serves though, you were the one who needed help getting back last time." She said playfully, even pressing her forehead deeper against Wyvern's, as if she were trying to physically overpower the woman and dominate her right from the start, but really she was just adding some fuel to the fire, amplifying the match from the start as much as possible. "If you want though I can stick around after the match to kiss it and make you feel better." Alizeh said, getting the idea for this little bit from Wyvern's recent twitter interactions with a certain SWAT Kat.

From the first moments of their original match, there had been an obvious connection between Wyvern and Alizeh. Wyvern, as a general rule, didn't "get" other people. It was even rarer for them to understand her. Alizeh, however, had been able to actually read her actions as she meant them, and was able to return them in kind. This forceful struggle even before the match was just another example of this. Pushback, competition, aggression, but no malice. Wyvern raises her own arm in stereo with Alizeh as the referee approaches, neither willing to start the match just yet while they still had things to say.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how long you can keep going. I'll thoroughly finish you off this time." Wyvern manages to keep going strong after Alizeh's first quip, continuing to push back both physically and verbally. "Might wanna rewatch that match. I could stand just fine afterwards. Maybe you weren't as good as you thought?" Wyvern pushes back just as hard when Alizeh increases the pressure, grinding her forehead against the taller wrestler with no sign of discomfort. Just as a few parents begin to worriedly check their programs to make sure this is normal wrestling match, however, Alizeh's final jab hits home quite hard. At least while tweeting, Wyvern had the advantage of not being visible. Wyvern's face instantly flushes a bright red, and she slacks up enough on the pressure against Alizeh to be shoved back a half-step. "Okay, you know what...you can...can..." Her attempt at a comeback is quickly swallowed by a frustrated growl. She, almost sulkily, turns to look at the referee. "Just ring the damn bell." Some things, it would seem, never change.

Alizeh continued to give an intense stare to Wyvern off the bat, not seeming to care about anything else or anyone, her focus instead being trained on Wyvern alone. Thankfully the ref was easily swayed by not only Alizeh waving him off but Wyvern as well, the two girls ironically acting in unison in spite of the violence that was soon to take place between them. Not that it bothered either in the slightest, with Wyvern being quick to disparage what Alizeh said, only for the green haired girl to fire back with the irish lass's one weakness... Flirting.

'Thank you Tracy Cannon.' Alizeh thought to herself, grinning in spite of herself and her resolve to stay serious, but finding the look on Wyvern's face far too amusing to pass up, that combined with her stumbling over her words and calling for the bell from frustration was just too much. 'She's such a tsundere.' Alizeh thought to herself impishly, already planning barbs and jokes to hit Wyvern with later, but for now... "Looks like I win this round." She said cheekily before using the brief distraction to push harder against Wyvern and send her stepping backwards to give the two some room. "Only two to go, hope you're ready." She said eagerly, a wide, wild grin on her face as she put her arms up along with the start of the bell, inviting her foe to step forward and engage in a test of strength against Alizeh right off the bat as soon as the match started!

Once again overcome by her crippling weakness to anything even remotely referencing any concept connected to romance or sex, Wyvern seems almost deflated as the bell rings. Alizeh's mischievous grin is met with a sulky glare, Wyvern's jaw clenching in embarassed indignation. The exchange had been going so well up until then. Given the content and personalities in this promotion, it would probably be something that she would need to desensitize herself to at some point, but even thinking about a method for doing that was embarassing in and of itself, and she tamps down on that line of thought before the entire ordeal begins running loops in her brain. That had happened a few times before, it wasn't going to get her anywhere soon if her past experiences were any indication.

With the match formally begun, Wyvern blows out a deep breath and refocuses herself. Squaring herself up, she accepts Alizeh's offer for the test of strength, locking her hands in with Alizeh's. After a moment to ensure that both of them have a secure grip, the test begins in earnest. Alizeh will likely almost immediately be reminded of Wyvern's extraordinary strength; it's like being pushed against by someone twice Wyvern's weight in force. Not bothering to start with any restraint, Wyvern throws herself into the contest, aiming to bulldoze Alizeh over and regain control of the situation. At the same time, she crushes down with a vice-like grip using her fingers, applying extra pressure to her opponent.

'Oh yeah teasing works realllll well.' Alizeh thought to herself, already figuring that Wyvern wasn't the type to handle such flirations well, but after seeing her recent back and forth with Tracy on twitter it added enough fuel to the fire for Alizeh to experiment a bit with this match. 'Oh this will be fun for later.' Alizeh thought to herself seeing the almost deflated look on Wyvern. Smirking softly Alizeh found it at least fair enough to offer a test of strength to help Wyvern forget about losing the war of words and get this match started off nice and competitively. Naturally Wyvern was quick to accept the challenge, maybe even more so than usual given the slight embarrassment Alizeh had given her but that was neither here nor there.

Now it was a battle for supremacy. Immediately Alizeh's playful smile was gone, replaced instead by a solemn look of determination as she pushed against Wyvern, already grunting in effort as she did so. Despite being the bigger between them Wyvern was just as strong if not more so than Alizeh. But the green haired girl was no push over, and as much as Wyvern tried to bully and push against Alizeh she was just as inclined to do the same, literally pushing and shoving her chest against Wyvern's as the two jockeyed for control against one another. Even their fingers were locked in a epic dual, each squeezing the other's hands as tight as possible, looking for some sort of advantage, but for now they were locked in a intense dead heat!

Wyvern does indeed come at Alizeh with more ferocity than she might have normally, her embarassment provoking her into going at full force from the start. While she has a noticeable strength advantage, Alizeh's own willpower and endurance enable her to weather the assault without backing down or being overcome. It's here that another of Wyvern's weaknesses reveals itself. While Wyvern's strength is astonishing for someone of her size, her defiance of her own anatomy can only go so far. The Irish wrestler simply doesn't have the muscle mass to maintain that level of power for long periods of time without stopping. It's for this reason that Wyvern generally tries to start matches slowly; conserving energy early gives her more opportunities to make use of her strength later. But Alizeh's taunt prevented the strategy entirely. As a result, once the initial, overwhelming assault is stalled out, Alizeh can feel Wyvern rapidly weakening against her.

Knowing that maintaining the contest of strength is a losing proposition, Wyvern elects not to drag it out into an embarassing loss. Instead, she returns to another of her most common strategies. As the contest begins to turn to Alizeh's favor, Wyvern twists her arms to create a bit of distance between their chests, allowing herself to be pushed back a couple of steps. Then, Wyvern suddenly stops resisting at all, instead lightly pulling the larger wrestler towards her. At the same time, she snaps her head forward, aiming to drive her forehead into Alizeh's nose!

Slowly but surely Alizeh was starting to overwhelm Wyvern. It was gradual mind you, but she could feel it, Wyvern's arms giving way to Alizeh's own as she pushed against her. Just like their first match Wyvern's power was overwhelming but only in short bursts, she just couldn't maintain it for long and while Alizeh wasn't as strong as Wyvern, she did possess much more stamina, something that was a deciding factor of their first bout, and would likely be in this one. So as Alizeh began to push further and further, grinning wider in the process, she thought nothing of just how much easier it was getting to push Wyvern back. At least until it was too late to do so. Before she could even begin to put the pieces together Alizeh was helpless as she felt her arms suddenly pulled in and Wyvern's skull rapidly approaching. 'Ah shit.' She thought to herself until...

CLUNK!

"Nghhhhhhh!" Yelling out in pain from the impact Alizeh immediately released Wyvern's hands and fell down to her knees, clutching her nose which miraculously wasn't broken or bleeding, but she could tell it was close. 'Dammit.' Alizeh thought, trying to look up only to immediately regret it when it felt like everything started to spin. 'Shitttt.' She thought, officially dazed as she tried reaching out with one hand, trying to keep herself balanced and get back up.
