Elle had been in her locker room and dressed hours before she needed. Er, actually she had spent a good amount of time sitting in her underwear instead of getting dressed in her favorite ring gear, thinking about how far she had come. One foot in front of the other, one new goal that Elle set in her determination to be more to the world than a flower girl who could not change her world in any greater way than to make sure she and her mom avoided hunger, that had been all she needed. Even her mom, good and protective as she was and certainly loved by Elle, didn't think Elle could grow into the woman who could go out and claim her destiny with two strong arms instead of settling for survival.
But here was Elle, both sets of sort-of guns on display (but they were certainly strong arms even if they were not guns, she would argue) and a small bundle of flowers in her hand when she heard First Light slowly build to full volume in the arena, snatching what she wanted out of the pool of life.
She could have popped from glee hearing the calls of the audience when she strutted out onto the stage to the beat. Her smile stretched to each dimple.
"-from Santa Fe Springs, California, and making her LAW debut, Elleeeeeeee Alresford!"
Spoiler
She clapped her hands together once she was standing on the ring apron, summoning her focus. An I Quit Match was a tall test for a debut, but Elle never shied and did her best not to doubt. Thinking about the way things could go pear-shaped did not benefit her at all. Plus, LAW wanted smothering, and she had a few tricks hidden behind the sweet smile that continued to gleam.
For the first time, after a giddy moment of anticipation, Elle stepped into the LAW ring.
