Jessie Alexander and Matilda Jacobs vs. Kanon Fujiwara and Roxanne Wolf

Unread post by Pegasus »

Match Type: Tag Team Match
Rules: Victory to be obtained by pinfall, submission, knockout, count-out, or submission. Normal tag team rules apply.

To say this was going to be a favorable match was the biggest lie you could’ve ever told someone. Jessie and Matilda knew this all too well if last night had anything to say about it. Them and Sarabeth had tried helping Astrid, Sarabeth’s stepmother, in her Falls Count Anywhere affair against Lyra and The Selection. Even though they got Roxanne backstage and started beating her down, the Jackals swarmed them and it was all downhill from there. However, Astrid had won the match and now, her and Sarabeth are having a well-earned rest back in America and couldn’t be at LAW tonight.

Management wanted to capitalize on the feud to keep it going so Jessie and Matilda just had each other while The Selection still had just about everyone minus Lyra, who was also back in Baltimore staying a few days in the hospital. To make matters worse, it was the two leading disciples that would take charge. Jessie was so nervous at gorilla as she was wearing her normal attire and Matilda was also in her pink cotton jacket. She would’ve normally had a puppet to put on, but she was just as nervous as Jessie and wanted to be serious. They would just use Jessie’s theme song and stick together coming down the ramp.

The crowd started cheering a little bit to boost the girls and their spirits as Jessie came out first tipping her hat to the audience as Matilda followed behind doing meek waves. They checked to see the coast was clear and looked up at the lights to see if they flickered. The girls went arm and arm down the aisle as Jessie raised her cane trying to smile brightly through the nerves. Jessie came ringside placing her cane against the steps and went up the steps and Matilda came up with her taking off her jacket.

The following contest is a tag team match set for one-fall! Introducing first, the team of Jessie Alexander and Matilda Jacobs!

Jessie held the ring ropes open for her partner and then came in after her. Jessie took off her hat as Matilda kept close in the middle as both Young Lionesses looked up the ramp. They wanted confirmation that The Selection were coming from there rather than any other directions. Suddenly, Jessie’s theme music became distorted and ungodly as everything on the screen went black and white and then the lights in the arena fell to pitch black.

Jessie and Matilda might have been first to the ring, and they might've garnered a few cheers - even if they weren't the most experienced and established of names, the fact they were here to stand up against the Selection was enough to give their supporters enough faith in them. It might have been unlikely, but in everyone's hearts and minds, there was, at the very least, a chance that they might be able to put a stop to the Selection's reign of terror once and for all tonight. They might have been in training, but they were still competent wrestlers, and anything could happen. And that was a chance everyone wanted to believe in - especially after the horrors they had seen the Selection was capable of unleashing at Nightmare on LAW Street, which had seen Astrid Ostberg take on Lyra Heartfield in a harrowing match that saw the Anomaly and his disciples torment Astrid psychologically and physically alike. Even if Astrid won the match, it was a hard-fought battle that left her collapsing from exhaustion by the end of it, and she hadn't said much since, leading more than a few fans to fear for her safety. But, at the very least, Astrid had won that match - perhaps Jessie and Matilda could do that too.

But when the music warped and corrupted, it was sending a message - a message that no matter what, the Selection was in control, and that they did not relinquish their position so easily. As long as they were in the match, they were the ones calling the shot. Not the referee, not even the suits in the back. Even before the bell had rung, they were making that known with how they took control of the special effects...

And if there were ever any doubts as to who was in charge, those too would be answered when the lights were suddenly cut, plunging the arena into darkness. A few yelps and gasps could be heard shortly before they were drowned out by the drone of Kanon's theme music, coming over the speakers.
Spoiler
And then, the lights began to flicker. They came through in short bursts, so that one could only see the ring for a few seconds at a time - but then, a steady red light shone over the ring. And suddenly, Kanon and Roxanne were there. Kanon stood in the corner, her scythe draped over her shoulders as she watched her opponents with an unwavering glare, while Roxanne took point in front of her, growling and cracking her knuckles as she leaned in closer to look Jessie and Matilda right in the eyes.

"...So. The lost souls return to the mouth of Hell," Kanon mused, her tone hardly betraying any emotion. "Tell me...what death wish must you have to do such a thing?"

Jessie and Matilda instantly went outside as soon as the lights went dark. The flickering only made them huddle up near the barricade making sure not to have their backs ambushed by The Selection. It wasn’t until the blood red spotlight showed on the ring that Kanon appeared out of thin air seemingly twirling her scythe as Roxanne took the lead growling down at the duo. Roxanne was known to love feasting on Young Lionesses if her previous matches against Nico and Teuila elsewhere outside of LAW were anything to go by. Jessie and Matilda seemed to be next as Kanon asked them what death wish they had to come against them in support of their best friend.

We’re doing this for Sarabeth and sensei! She beat your cohort and we’ll see to it that you two follow suit!” Jessie shouted back as she really had to swallow her nerves on shouting that.

You don’t scare us! If you wanted to bring everyone else from your Halloween group out here, that’s fine! We’ll beat them just like we’ll beat you two into the shallow graves you came up from! We’re not going to murder you, though! Just beat senseless!” Matilda screamed as she blushed having to correct herself and scratched the back of her head.

Despite the two Young Lionesses' best efforts to talk tough, Roxanne could only chuckle as she cracked her knuckles. The fact that Matilda was tripping over her analogies in the middle of trying to give a speech was all the proof she needed to confirm what she was already convinced of - these two girls were hopelessly out of their league. The Selection had already claimed the victories it was after; even if Astrid had won the match at Nightmare on LAW Street, they had still forced her to succumb to exhaustion and stress, proving that they could pierce even her defenses. If these two still thought they had a chance, even with far less experience under their belts, it was up to the Selection to show them just how wrong they were.

"So be it, then," Kanon commanded. Though the tone in her voice was soft, her words seemed to boom across the arena, echoing off the walls. She took a step forward, twirling her scythe through the air before she slammed it straight through the canvas in the middle of the ring. At that very moment, the lights cut out. When they came back up, the scythe was gone. Kanon was now in her ring gear, and Roxanne had shed her jacket, ready for the match ahead of them. And it was the Wolf who would take her place in the ring first. As Kanon slipped behind the ropes, Roxanne snarled through a grimace of clenched teeth as she lowered herself in a stance, her vision flitting back and forth between her opponents.

"Well, well...whoooooo's it gonna be, hrm? Who's it gonna be?" The referee stood by with a blank stare, glancing from one corner of the ring to the other - she knew that something was very wrong here, but she knew better than to get herself involved. She could only hope Jessie and Matilda could handle themselves...

Matilda locked eyes with Roxanne knowing Jessie is terrified on the inside to start first and knowing Matilda isn’t afraid of a scuffle, she went under the ring for a steel chair. She understands the referee is powerless to do anything which meant no rules were going to be forced despite this being a normal tag team match. Matilda slid the chair in and rolled in herself as the referee tried to dissuade her and even threatened disqualification as Matilda just narrowed her gaze. Well, it isn’t illegal if the bell never rang in the first place!

Matilda pushed the referee aside throwing the top end of the chair into Roxanne’s gut and bashed it on Kanon’s prone head trying to catch the Selection off guard!

Matilda was the first to step forward, locking eyes with Roxanne, but the Wolf wasn't fazed by what she saw - not even a little. Even if she had a taker for her first challenger, she was more than confident that she could beat her any day. She was strong, now. She was more powerful than she had ever been before, all thanks to the Selection. All thanks to him. She let loose a long, low growl as she narrowed her eyes on the brunette, hoping to get her point across that she wasn't one to be trifled with.

But little did she know, Jessie was hard at work setting her plan into place, too. In squaring up with Roxanne, Matilda was buying her partner some time to set things up, as Jessie grabbed a chair from under the ring and passed it to Matilda! As she saw her opponent arm herself, Roxanne's eyes went wide - but it was too late to do anything about it. The cold steel was shoved into her gut, driving the air out of her lungs, and she doubled over forward, clutching at her stomach as she coughed and wheezed.

From there, Matilda was free to go after Kanon - at least, or so she thought. But the albino wouldn't be so easily surprised. As though she had seen the blow coming, Kanon reached up to grab the chair as it descended toward her skull, looking to stop it in midair. Then, her eyes narrowed on Matilda with a cold glare that seemed to bore a hole right through her! "Bad move." The Selection was in control here, and they wouldn't accept any meddling to the contrary - that was the message they were looking to get across!

If Kanon's ploy worked, she would tighten her grip on the chair, trying to pull it in her direction to drag Matilda off balance. Then, she would shove her palm straight into the girl's face, her nails clasping down to lock in an iron claw! Looking back and forth frantically at the chaos unfolding, the referee realized there was no choice but to ring the bell...

*DING DING DING*

...But even then, would it do anything to help?

Matilda tried bringing the chair down on Kanon, but the sorceress was right there to catch the chair in both hands trying to keep it steady. Matilda tried using her strength to thrust the chair in any direction she could as Kanon kept a firm grip on the weapon. She even thrusted a hand onto Matilda’s face giving her an Iron Claw. Matilda let go screaming as she heard the bell rang and Jessie knew she needed to get in there. Seeing as the referee wasn’t about to get in the way when rules weren’t a concern, Jessie went to the timekeeper’s area shakingly grabbing her own chair. She ran for the ring and tried hitting Kanon in the gut with weapon!

Matilda might have been hot on the heels of the match with the chair aimed right at Kanon, but the albino barely even seemed to flinch. As though she'd seen such a move coming, she reached out and grabbed hold of the chair, stopping Matilda in her tracks - and no matter how hard she tried to wrestle control away from Kanon, the chair wouldn't budge; it stayed rigid in her hands, as though it was suspended firmly in place! From there, there was nothing stopping Kanon from reaching out and grabbing hold of Matilda's face, digging her nails deep into her cheeks!

Jessie saw the opportunity to arm herself and go after Kanon - but if she was going to run an interference for her team, Roxanne already decided two could play at that game. "Oh no, ya don't!" she snarled - as Jessie came closer, she leaned in and grasped the rope, gnashing her teeth and pawing her foot against the apron like she was waiting to take off. Then, she would jump through the ropes and dive toward Jessie, attempting to tackle her around her legs to bring her down. Hopefully, if she struck quickly enough, she could intercept Jessie before she could make a hit on Kanon - and if her plan worked, Roxanne would end up on top of Jessie and straddling her waist, where she was in a perfect position to rain down mounted punches aimed right at her head!

Matilda looked behind her for the briefest of seconds as Roxanne barreled a suicide dive right into Jessie and started laying out punches to the shy girl! Jessie gasped and cried out in pain as she covered her head throwing out occasional slaps to ward off Roxanne. Matilda had her own predicament as she was trapped in Kanon’s clutches with her skin seething as Kanon was making her suffer! Matilda screamed as the referee felt bad for her, but kept an impartial mind set asking Matilda if this was it, but Matilda shot out her left wrist to Kanon’s head to break the hold! If that worked, Matilda would run the opposing ropes and then look to clothesline Kanon over the top rope!

In a flash, Roxanne was on Jessie. She slammed into her at top speed, and the blonde had no choice but to topple beneath her charge, where she could rain down a volley of punches on her from above. Jessie attempted to throw some slaps back her way, but it was as though Roxanne didn't even feel them - she just leveled a glower on her foe, leaning in closer as she snarled through clenched teeth. Any resistance Jessie was going to throw at her was only going to make Roxanne angrier - something she would demonstrate as much, as she grabbed for Jessie's hair with one hand, twisting her head to the side in order to expose her throat before she latched onto it with a one-handed chokehold!

Meanwhile, Matilda was trapped in a predicament of her own - Kanon had latched onto her jaw, her fingers stabbing directly into her nerves! No matter how much she wriggled and writhed, it didn't seem to bring even the slightest of reactions out of Kanon. The albino stared right into her eyes, her expression flat and unfeeling - to her, Matilda's struggles meant as little as those of an insect. But no matter how much pain she was in, Matilda still had the strength left in her to fight back - and she was about to prove as much, when she struck out with her wrist to knock Kanon upside the head!

The white-haired girl reeled to the side, wincing against the blow - and in the process, she had no choice but to let go of Matilda. And as Kanon stopped to shake herself out, Matilda was already setting herself to motion. She charged from one end of the ring to the other - and then, borne by the momentum of the ropes, she hurled a clothesline against Kanon, sending her toppling out of the ring! Her legs kicked into the air, carrying her head over heels as she went plummeting to the mats with the sound of a thump - but there, she would turn and roll under the apron. Even if Matilda had more fight in her than she bargained for, Kanon wasn't about to give up the fight just yet. She had her own plans to set in motion...
