For tonight's match, Kanon had a message to send. She was only vaguely aware of who this Ouro Kronii was, but she didn't particularly care. What she did know was that she was the leader of her little faction, and she seemed to take that duty seriously. For someone as antisocial as she was, Kanon liked to think she knew a thing or two about reading other people, and that information was all she needed to make some deductions about her next opponent. She was sure she'd be smug. That she'd be self-assured and secure in her belief in herself, and that she would be determined to exemplify her values and those of her Council. Most importantly of all, though, it meant that Kronii had a lot to lose. If she couldn't win this match, surely it would mean she had let her allies down, and that when push came to shove, she wouldn't be able to back herself up - something that could only sew discord among the ranks, and undermine her confidence in herself as a leader. If the Selection was going to thrive - if Kanon was going to see her Father's will through - then she needed to send a message to this Council. A message that not even their esteemed leader was powerful enough to stop them. If she could do that, she would be well on her way to establishing the Selection - and the Anomaly - as a dominant force in LAW, one that could conquer any faction in its way.
And it was by no accident that this match was Falls Count Anywhere - something Kanon would quickly demonstrate. She wouldn't even wait for Kronii to make it to the ring before she threw the first blow, and the first weapon in her arsenal was the element of surprise. Suddenly, before Kronii could reach the ring, the lights cut, plunging the whole arena into darkness. A few of the fans gasped, and murmurs of some electrical issue began to go through the stands. But, as they'd soon find out, it was much more than that.
One light came on. A blood-red spotlight, one that shone directly on Kronii. It was singling her out, putting across a threat. And for all the onlookers, it would also serve to illustrate the danger the Canadian was really in. Making her presence known for the first time in this match, Kanon was already here. She was right behind her - and she was ready to strike!
Without any hesitation, Kanon twirled the scythe around in her hand, swinging the blunt end of it at Kronii's ankle before she even had time to turn around. When she wasn't using the blade, it wouldn't be enough to do any serious damage, but it would still hopefully kick the footing out from under her foe - and it would let Kronii know just what it was she was dealing with, when Kanon held the scythe behind her with both hands, casually sitting down on its shaft and kicking one leg out to recline on it as though it were floating in midair. Was she just balancing all her weight on one foot - or was there something more at hand? Either way, Kanon lifted her head to look into her opponent's eyes, and there she showed her a cold, unfeeling stare.
"Hello."
