Another night, another match...Akari Ito was preparing herself backstage, putting on the final touches of her look. She finished dressing into her brand-new ring attire, taking time to admire herself in the mirror by taking photos, saving them for later, and texting them to her girlfriends before proceeding with the rest of her usual routine. She sat on one of the locker room benches and began steadily applying makeup to her face before tending to her raven-black hair on the side.
Her legs were bouncing vigorously as she remained seated. Those pre-match jitters were getting to her again. Contrary to belief, the young Japanese woman was not scared of going out there. Nor was she afflicted with stage fright of any kind. All of these jitters stemmed from her eagerness. She couldn't contain her enthusiasm. She was so excited about having another chance to perform for such a stunning crowd. The promising rookie was far beyond her days of being afraid of fighting on the biggest, grandest stages of them in front of a live audience. These were the big leagues, and she couldn't afford to be afraid, not even for a moment. To become an icon in this industry, she would need to walk the walk, talk the talk, look the part, and kick-ass better than anyone else in the locker room. In wrestling, your career could end at any moment.
This was a harsh reality, but that didn't matter to Akari. This sport was one where anyone could become a star, regardless of background, status, and past. No matter who you are or what you've done, you can become one of the greats. And that's what Akari planned to do. So no matter what she faces or who she's thrown up against, she intends to overcome, regardless of the many trials and tribulations ahead of her. She knew she had the potential and skill to make it in this league. Every time she steps in that ring, she leaves her mark. There was no questioning it. When someone looks at Akari, they see a professional Joshi-wrestler. They witness a STAR in the making. Finally, after a long queue time, the current match ended. While the commercial break starts, backstage crews shift around, running through the following production steps to get the next match underway.
It didn't take long for one of the production staff members to cue her to head out for her entrance. A bright smile forms on her face as she grabs her things, slips her headphones over her hair, and pulls her varsity jacket on before dashing through the hallways toward the Gorilla Position, standing just before the entranceway leading out into the auditorium. Akari could feel the walls and floors shaking from the audience in attendance. It sounded like the arena was nearly filled tonight...much to the raven-haired woman's delight. Shortly afterward, production began to time her entrance to sync up with the end of the commercial break. Once Akari was given a countdown, she took a few deep breaths, readying herself to bring her absolute BEST.
