The Idol Dragons [D] vs. the Thundergirls

Tina climbed back through the ropes to take her place on the apron in total shock that Yukino had just kicked out.

Alaina was also completely in shock that Yukino kicked out, and she was not taking any chances at this point. She made her way over to Yukino and shoved her head between her legs before grabbing her around the waist. Alaina was going for an amabomb now, and she was going to put everything she had into sending Yukino crashing to the mat!

She had done it. Even after all the punishment she'd taken, from no less than Alaina Sanders, Yukino still had enough left in her to kick her way out of a pin! The second they saw the Winter Idol escape her predicament, the whole arena burst into cheers. They'd witnessed a truly heroic effort on her part, and they couldn't help but celebrate it. When Yukino heard the uproar from the stands, she looked back at them and smiled...but that same smile soon turned to a grimace of pain, as the aches set into her body.

Yukino might have avoided taking the pin, but there was only so much longer she could go. Her body was heavy, stiff, and sore, and as she grabbed at the canvas to pull herself away from Alaina, she stumbled, falling to an elbow as she hissed through clenched teeth and rubbed at her ribs. As she panted for breath, the realization came over Yukino that all she had managed to do was to delay the inevitable. She might have saved herself now...but she was left with nothing with which to protect herself against what followed.

And just seconds later, Alaina grabbed her and scooped her up from the mat, causing her to gasp! She knew just what was coming, but she had no time to escape. A scream split the air as Yukino was hurled to the mat, just before she collided with enough force to knock the air out of her lungs. As she slumped back into the mat, going limp, the world around her began to grow dark. The impact alone had been enough to knock her senseless!

Alaina quickly moved to pin Yukino, hooking a leg and covering Yukino. Alaina figured that there was no way in hell Yukino was going to kick out of this by itself let alone after the other offense she had just taken. The spunky smaller wrestler could only handle so much punishment or so Alaina estimated.

The official slid in to place and began the count as Yukino was laid out after the amabomb.

"ONE!"

When the Amabomb hit, everyone was already sure that the Idol Dragons were done for. Some of the fans cheered such a display of strength, and some of them gasped in dismay at what this meant for the fan-favorite idols. But there was one thing on everyone's mind. After a landing like that, Yukino wasn't getting up any time soon. The entire capacity of her lungs had been driven out of her. Her whole body felt heavy, and the world was spinning around her. When the Amazon went down to hold down her shoulders, Yukino glanced back at her with her teeth clenched nervously, sweat beading on her brow. She couldn't do any more - her body simply refused to move. She could only watch the world going by groggily, her vision swimming in and out of focus, as Alaina kept her shoulders pinned.

"THREE!!"

At last, as the referee slapped the mat a third time, the bell rang, and the match was over. It was only when Alaina let her go that Yukino slowly began to rise, hunched over and holding her head as she moaned under her breath. Her body was heavy, and her shoulders sagged under her own weight, but she looked back at Nashi and let out a sigh. She'd fought as hard as she could - but, in the end, it wasn't enough. And now, she knew she'd let her friend down.

"I'm sorry, Nashi..."

Alaina stood up and the official held her hand high as Tina climbed through the ropes. The Thundergirls pulled off a win, but on paper they were the far more experienced team and the outcome was probably the more likely one given any mathematic odds going in. However after a moment Alaina and Tina moved over to help Yukino get to her feet looking to give the other team a little pat on the back. They came and put in everything they had, and they weren't just some wannabe wrestlers, they were putting in work and taking their new careers very seriously.

Nashi was cheering for Yukino throughout this final bout! However….. much like Nashi’s first match against Alaina, it was finished by The Amabomb! “YUKINO!!!” She shouted with her hands over her mouth gasping out loud.

Unfortunately they’re Cinderella story came to a crashing end as the thundergirls won the match…


When Yukino came back, all Nashi could do was step through the ropes and hug her best friend”I’m not mad…. Hell I lost to alaina” she smiled and turned to the thundergirls”think we got future tag champs if yuki and I train harder?“ she looked at alaina giving her a confident smirk.

As soon as Nashi saw Alaina line Yukino up for the Amabomb, she knew exactly what was about to happen. Yukino did the best she could to brace herself for the landing, but there was only so much she could do to withstand the Amazon's finisher. When she came crashing down onto the mat, the impact all but knocked the air out of her lungs, shaking the entire ring and leaving her deflating into the canvas. She was still dizzy by the time the referee moved to count the pin, and when Yukino finally figured out what was happening, it was already too late to do anything about it. With tears forming in her eyes, she looked down with a sigh. She couldn't bear to face Nashi like this, knowing that she had let her, and their team, down.

But then, Alaina and Tina took the white-haired girl by the arms, helping her back to her feet. At first, she looked up at them in confusion, blinking a few times. "Wait, what? Why are you-?" she began. After the Thundergirls had won, Yukino fully expected them to want to gloat and rub it in her face. But they could still look at them with respect - and so could the crowd, which went up in applause. Yukino's eyes went wide in shock as she watched it. She could hardly believe it. But everyone else knew what this match meant. The Idol Dragons had truly gone the distance, and after the hard work and effort they'd shown to the world, everyone knew they were worthy of a round of cheers!

Realizing what she was hearing, Yukino smiled a little wider, and she stood a little taller. And as Nashi came to join her, Yukino threw her arms around her partner, pulling her into a tight hug of her own. Nashi wasn't mad, and she wasn't disappointed - she was just happy to know that Yukino was out there doing her best. "Nashi-! Thanks for believing in me..."
