The Fortunate Storm Before Apex: Lyra Heartfield vs. Alizeh Midori

[Pegasus]

Lyra knew this match was closing in on the finish and she almost had victory right there. Alizeh made a reference to that powerbomb and Lyra nodded her head in acknowledgement smirking herself. She hadn’t had a good match like this so far in LAW. Her and Alizeh were touted as two big rising stars and future Middleweight Champions. It was only a matter of time before they met inside the squared circle to decide who was better this time around, but Lyra hadn’t expected a close-centered match where they would just put their engines on overdrive. The crowd really loves this match and chanted “FIGHT FOREVER! FIGHT FOREVER! FIGHT FOREVER!”

Lyra saw Alizeh coming at her with a forearm launched and she would duck her head to the side hoping her defense could block Alizeh’s shot!

[Bare]

If nothing else Alizeh and Lyra had gotten a fight forever chant going for them, a excellent fear for any match, especially a first time match up between two people. Unfortunately Alizeh wouldn't have the chance to enjoy it as much as she would like. Because despite getting up so too did Lyra, and Alizeh instinctively knew that the sooner she got on the attack the better.

Stepping towards the blonde and throwing her arm forward for a forearm strike Alizeh wasn't too shocked that she dodged... in fact. "Hiyah!" it was what she wanted. With her arm already forward Alizeh would shift directions and swing around aiming to bring her arm back around in Lyra's direction, this time for a knife edge chop aimed right across Lyra's chest!

Lyra gasped as Alizeh wanted her to dodge the forearm and to make way for a devastating chop to the chest! Lyra took it backing up and coughing as she goes down on her back. The crowd cheered on the action not picking a side as Lyra tried crawling for the ropes. Even if she was doing good, her tank was approaching empty fast and one more move might do it for her. She really didn’t want to fail on her way to Apex, though. She’s lost pretty important matches and barely won others. Lyra didn’t want them to be seen as flukes. Her momentum was too important to lose now and Alizeh was basking in the glory of being dominant.

[Bare]

Seeing Lyra drop after the chop Alizeh would smirk softly, knowing now that the momentum was in her favor as she approached the fallen Lyra who seemed to be going for the rops. So far Lyra had been a mighty opponent, one Alizeh admitted was far tougher than initially expected, but that was fine for her, it would only be all the better when she got the win over the blonde. Bending down to loop her arms around her waist Alizeh would seek to lift up, sucking in a breath as she did so to hopefully pull Lyra up off the mat all together before swinging back to land a deadlift german suplex on the fortune teller to get her away from the corner and hopefully leave her stunned for Alizeh's next move!

Lyra was definitely pushing herself in this match and it was more than she had ever had to do for any match in her career be it on the indies or in LAW. Alizeh was fast and her visions of her opponent quickly countering were proving to put some doubts that Lyra could keep up even after her lucky counter to Alizeh's Thunderbird Splash. Lyra would feel herself pulled up as she tried grabbing the ropes slowly falling short of grasp! The blonde would be hit with a Deadlift German Suplex screeching as her head slammed into the mat hard! Lyra fell on her stomach groaning and everyone in the crowd wondered if this was it and Alizeh was closing in on a very competitive, but earned win after this dream match.

[Bare]

Brutal was so far a good way of describing the match between Lyra and Alizeh, both girls refusing to give in against each other and battering the relentlessly in search of victory in this match. A statement that would go far in the ascent towards Apex. Despite a nasty counter that almost saw Alizeh defeated the green haired girl had bounced back, and with a vengeance! Suplexing Lyra hard into the mat and seeing the girl's pain filled state Alizeh knew she had a chance as she kicked Lyra onto her back.

Following this Alizeh would then turn and hop onto the middle ropes before pointing at the blonde and leaping forward, flying through the air with her knees pointed downward, intent on crash down onto Lyra's sternum! If the move connected however it wouldn't end there, Alizeh would then roll forward, off of Lyra's body and to her feet before leaping backwards to come crashing down on her again with a standing moonsault that again led with her knees on Lyra's body for Alizeh's signature move the Adrenaline Shot! If it connected then Alizeh would lay on her foe's body, reaching to hook a leg and turn to the side to pin Lyra down onto the mat!

Lyra was down for the moment and Alizeh knew she could possibly end this if she played her cards right. Any one move could determine who held the advantage and would secure victory. Both women had their own opponents set for Apex so using the momentum would be really useful. Alizeh kicked Lyra on her back before jumping on the middle rope as the crowd knew what she was heading for. Alizeh jumped knees hitting Lyra’s stomach before rolling forward and hitting another Double Knee Drop on Lyra making the fortune teller spit out saliva and wheeze grabbing her chest. Alizeh covered Lyra and hooked one of her legs as the crowd were ready to see Alizeh stand tall for this match. The referee saw her cue and got down.

“1!”

The crowd was sure Lyra was done for. She had taken too much damage on that last move. It was over, right?

“2!”

However, Lyra kicked out at 2.9! This shocked the crowd as they cheered their heads off showing the relentless competitive spirit of the fortune teller. She came too far to just lose this match and she wasn’t going to back down when it mattered the most!

[Bare]

Unleashing a double pronged assault onto Lyra with her signature move Alizeh knew that she had this match in the bag. Between the damage Lyra had received up until now and with the consecutive hits of adrenaline shot, all Alizeh had to do was get a secure enough hold on the blonde for the pin count! Holding the fortune teller's leg tight in hand for the pinfall, the ref dropping in counting one, two, thr-

Here is where the spanner came into the works of Alizeh's plan. Because a literal second before the ref's hand could come down for the final count Lyra had managed to get her shoulder up to break it! Forced to sit up from the force of the kick out Alizeh had a surprised look on her face, not quite believing that Lyra had really managed to kick out from that.

"Hagh..." Breathing out a resigned breath Alizeh would push herself up to her feet before turning and grabbing Lyra by her top, looking to force the blonde up too her feet. If a signature wouldn't work, then Alizeh would go for a finisher. Trying to get behind the blonde Alizeh would go low, attempting to stick her head between Lyra's legs before trying to stand up with the girl on her shoulders, trying to set Lyra up for the Hurricane Driver!

If one were to ask how Lyra managed to get the shoulder up in time, Lyra herself wouldn't be able to give a response to how she managed to get the will to stay in this match. However, Alizeh knew that she was done putting up with Lyra''s stubbornness to stay down and signaled for the end bending Lyra forward to hopefully deliver her Hurricane Driver. If this were to hit, Lyra was down for the count no questions asked and no escapes planned. Lyra needed to turn it around now and so she tried keeping herself on the ground along with grabbing Alizeh's legs tripping her on her back. Lyra quickly crossed one of her legs into Alizeh's legs before getting a nice grip on them. Lyra then lifted Alizeh and placed her on her stomach hoping for the Orion Lock and the crowd cheered as Lyra locked in her own finisher! Lyra wrenched down hard on Alizeh's legs and she couldn't afford to let her opponent escape lest she finally lose this match. However, she was far from losing as she wanted to prove herself willing to fight for either title! This was her moment and she was going all in or nothing!

[Highfly]

Backstage Helena was wearing her wrestling attire and watching in disdain. This Lyra woman was a fake who won with luck, not skill. She had the audacity to beat Helena in an Apex qualifier. Right now though Helena had a plan. She was going to ruin Lyra's day and make sure that this annoyingly baby faced Alizeh didn't stop her.

Helena began to run to the ring, popping a pill in her mouth and placing brass knuckles on her right fist. She burst out into the arena as Lyra had a submission hold locked in and the tall blonde slid into the ring, tackling Lyra and punching away at her face with her brass knuckles! Helena struck hard and fast looking to leave Lyra laid out. However she knew Alizeh was likely to try to spring into action as well. That is what the mist was for.....

As Helena pounded on Lyra once Alizeh began to stir she would lean over and spit gold mist into Alizeh's eyes to blind her and take her out of the equation until Helena had beaten down Lyra to a satisfactory level.
