Is she serious? Gail vs Mariza

*With her aching, lower half fully devoted to dishing out the pain Mariza was oh so elated to inflict upon her, Gail was obstinate on trying to crush the upstart's limbs with as much force as she could muster. However, given her current state, it was nigh impossible due to how recent her current injury was, and ultimately, she was forced to relinquish the reversal prematurely, allowing both women to regroup and collect themselves. While this would come as a relief to most individuals, Gail's current predicament continued to bedevil her long after she had endured the torturous submission hold. As she would soon realize, her legs were almost unresponsive, and as she dragged herself over to a nearby corner, Gail felt life slowly beginning to return to them.*

"C..come on..l..let's go damn it.." *She tried to motivate herself to stand, her legs trembling as if they were a newborn baby deer's, until finally she reached the highest turnbuckle. This skirmish had taken more from Gail than she had originally anticipated- Through some divine miracle, Mariza was still chugging along, while it appeared as though the malevolent rocker was much more worse for wear. Gail was more angry at herself than impressed with what she'd seen from her adversary, cursing her own hubris for not having finished what she started when she had the chance to do so. However, there was a small, almost infinitesimal voice nagging at her in the back of her mind- Perhaps Mariza had a chance? This prospect shook Gail to her core, only serving to encourage her to redouble her efforts, once she fully regained feeling in her legs.*

It felt like a herculean effort just to free herself from Gail's legs, but after what to her was an eternity, Marzia twisted herself free, immediately falling onto her stomach as she gasped for breath. That hold had taken a lot out of her, both to apply it and now to take it, and she would need a moment before she was ready to retaliate. Luckily, it would seem Gail was taking her time getting back up as well, and Marzia was left to crawl away a short distance before she wearily pushed herself back up onto her knees. Soon enough, she made it back up to her feet as well, turning herself around to watch her opponent.

There, though, she stopped, seeing Gail looked quite worse for wear, and was struggling to get herself to move. While Marzia didn't think she had it in her to run at her at full speed either, it did make her stop and consider that her chances didn't seem as grim as they did a moment ago. She caught her breath, brushing hair out of her face, and stood, going to regain her strength. For now, she was going to remain where she was and see if Gail came to her; if she did, she'd be prepared to counter.

*Fully anticipating a direct assault from Mariza, Gail was pleasantly surprised at the level of clemency she was displaying towards her. While the average wrestler would have shown at least a smidgen of gratitude towards her, The Verdant Cyclone was no such individual, even deliberately going out of her way to openly mock the timid girl for not having the personal courage to finish what she had started.* "Oh, would you look at that." *Gail started, finally balancing herself well enough to stand on her trembling feet.* "She can't even push herself to capitalize on someone in a weakened state. I'd say I expected nothing less form you, but at this rate, I'll probably quit due to lack of interest!"

*Highly ironic words, given that she had just reestablished a reliable stance. However, even though she could have used this opportunity to replete her drained vitality, she knew that showing any signs of weakness or timidity in the face of someone so infinitesimal would call her intimidation factor into question, and above all else, Gail would fight tooth and nail to keep her reputation in tact.* "You've caused me one too many problems already..." *Gail rolled her shoulders before beginning to gallop forward, her stride obviously impeded from the prior injury, throwing caution to the wind by launching herself into Mariza for a flying headbutt!* "And I'm going to make you regret ever fighting me!"

Even as Gail was taunting her, Marzia did little more than narrow her eyes, as she took in a few slow, yet calm, breaths. For a moment she felt her temper flare up, and she grit her teeth and balled her fists at her sides. Marzia didn't like to be belittled - and she didn't want to take that from Gail more than anyone. However, she soon stopped, calming herself as she sucked in the air and recentered her balance. She couldn't afford to lose her cool here and now - and what Gail didn't realize was that Marzia wasn't passing up an opportunity. That opportunity was coming straight at her, head pointed to make impact.

Seeing Gail come charging towards her, Marzia simply stepped off to the side. She would have to time things right, she thought, but if she could get in place, she would be able to turn Gail's own momentum against her. As she came in closer, Marzia reached out, trying to grab her by the head before falling backwards and letting Gail come crashing into the canvas with a DDT!

While Gail may have been the aerodynamic type, especially given how tiny she was, it didn't necessarily guarantee a successful hit- She hadn't practiced this particular move whatsoever, and it was predominantly being utilized due to her current handicap; namely, her injured legs. She didn't want to risk exacerbating the problem, less she find herself with a legitimate issue for later skirmishes, but Gail was never the type to show mercy to anybody- Especially someone as trifling as Mariza. In Gail's world of electric guitars and dilapidated bars, someone as vanilla and meek as Mariza shouldn't even be allowed to share the same space as her, let alone be competing with her in a fight!*

*Unfortunately, her rashness was about to lead her into an entirely new world of issues. Not only had Gail woefully underprepared herself for the likelihood of a counterattack, but the angle at which she had bent herself in to allowed Mariza easy access for what would transpire next- A brutal, exclamation point of a DDT, causing the turbulent tornado's skull to bounce off the canvas with a sickening* "THUD!"

Marzia had to smile to herself at the ease with which she'd been able to pull off that move. Gail had practically set it up herself; with how quickly she was moving, she had provided most of the momentum. All Marzia needed to do was to grab her head and kick off her feet, and gravity took care of the rest. Now Gail was flat out on the ground, leaving Marzia to roll back up on her knees as she caught her breath.

If one figure four hadn't done the trick, Marzia thought, she would have to keep targeting the legs. Doing so would restrict the mobility of a high-flyer like Gail, and they would be especially effective when she had already been softened up by her previous attempts. Slowly but surely, Marzia climbed back to her feet; the higher she lifted herself off the mat, the more she heard the crowds cheering her and chanting her name, urging her to keep going! She knew now that she wasn't in this alone. And not just that, but she had to win this now - too many people were counting on her not to! Marzia's heart swelled in her chest with determination as she turned back to her fallen foe. The burden seemed to lift itself from her shoulders, and in its place, she felt a newfound confidence!

Leaning over, Marzia took hold of Gail's leg, pulling it back towards her as she lifted it up off the mat. She brought her hands up to pull at Gail's ankle, wrenching it in an ankle lock!

*While she lie prone against the uncomfortable plateau beneath her, Gail could feel her head spinning uncontrollably from the debilitating assault on her defenses. While ordinarily Gail could have shrugged off the vast majority of pain she was currently enduring, it felt as if Mariza's attacks had something peculiar added to them- With each, subsequent move, she seemed to be adding more and more enthusiasm to each one, augmenting the already devastating efficacy behind them. Suffice it to say, this left the rebellious rocker in a state of languish, at the mercy of her adversary for the indefinite future. Unfortunately, that appeared to be the last thing Mariza was going to show her!*

"W..wha...???" *Unable to completely discern what she was attempting to do, Gail would eventually come to realize that the irksome italian was, indeed, working on her lower half once again. This time however, she went for something a bit more discreet, determining that crippling Gail's ankle would serve as the more prudent option.* "GGRRRHH!" *More vexed than anything else, the emerald hurricane clutched her fists from the impact, trying her damnedest to mitigate the pressure against her heel while simultaneously trying to rise up on her opposite, lone foot. This was no simple task, as her legs had essentially been reduced to unresponsive pieces of hamburger meat, but despite this, Gail refused to admit any type of inferiority to the unyielding Mariza!*

The confidence was indeed building fast in Marzia, and her heart was pounding in her chest the longer she stood here with Gail's foot in her hand. She had come this close to victory, while before it looked like she was miles away - she certainly wasn't going to surrender it now! Biting her lip, she pulled back harder on Gail's leg, tightening her grasp and drawing more complaints from her foe. Marzia, however, met them by wrapping her fingers ever tighter around her ankle. She wouldn't dare let go of this.

Gail was rapidly changing her tone, however, as she was going for a new strategy in order to counter Marzia's hold; in this case, pushing off the mat to try and rise despite Marzia's hold on her ankle. The Italian's eyes widened at the sight of her body rising, but luckily, the damage she had done to Gail's legs was buying her time, and she would be remiss not to make use of that. In what time she had, she threw herself forward, trying to bring herself down onto Gail's back and pull her leg along with it to twist her into a single-legged Boston Crab!

*Gail couldn't believe what she was experiencing- Someone like her, a feared dreadnaught amongst the lightweights on law, was somehow reduced to a shrieking banshee in dire straits! She continued to feel her ankle bone beginning to give way, causing her body to tremble and her hands to fold inwards, creating miniature wrecking balls that she used to mitigate the unrelenting pain. Before long however, the jade typhoon would have an entirely new batch of problems she needed to contend with, as Mariza decided to transition into a flawlessly executed boston crab!*

"GGRRHHK!" *She snarled under her breath, gnashing her pearly whites together in a desperate attempt to mitigate the ongoing anguish. Gail had been put in such a compromising position only a handful of times, each one forcing her to the edge of the abyss, but somehow, she managed to find the fortitude to resist the urge to tap. Tonight, however, the circumstances were different- The prior damage that had been down to her lower limbs was playing a significant factor in this match, and with every passing second, she felt her window of opportunity getting smaller and smaller. With the last remaining vestige of energy she had, Gail lurched forward, extending a lone hand to try and clasp the ropes!*

The crowd was cheering ever louder for Marzia as she moved from one hold to the next, but it didn't even register much with the girl. She wasn't listening to the crowd - now, she was lost in her own head, focusing on the match going on around her as though her life depended on it. All she could hear was her own groans through tightly clenched teeth and the blood rushing through her head as she fell back onto Gail's back and twisted her leg back over her shoulder. She wouldn't dare take her attention off this now; she was in the zone.

Nevertheless, she was still feeling the twists and turns of Gail's body beneath her, as the Whirlwind forced her way over to the ropes. As much as Marzia fought to hold on, her grip couldn't hold forever, and eventually Gail managed to catch the ropes, forcing a break. The Italian dropped her leg, getting off of her and catching her breath as she stepped back. The next round was starting now!
