Thunder Ryuko vs. Katsumi Oshiro

There's no reaction as Ryuko drops her body across her chest, seemingly defeated by the chokeslam. And per the spurring, the referee-girl has begun the pinfall. Only after the first count does the black haze surrounding Katsumi's mind start to lift. Sensations then begin to file in - soreness, her joints aching, her muscles tired and unresponsive. She wasn't unconscious, but the hit brought her close. The pressure along her chest registers as the referee strikes the mat again.

"TWO!"

The sound of the pin-count reaches her ears. The weight across her chest suddenly makes sense. It's almost instinctual, realizing she's being pinned. Her breathing hastens a little, each inhale pushing her chest against Ryuko's torso. Suddenly, she twists herself to the right, still under her opponent but with one shoulder off the mat! "N'ah!"

The referee-girl raises a pair of fingers. A two-count! No fall!

Katsumi's mind is still a daze, but it's rapidly clearing. The real struggle is forcing her fatigued body to function again as fast as it'll need to. She has to get back in this! That slam very nearly ended her right then and there! This is a milestone she wants in her career! And she knew it was going to hurt. Every passing turn of events in this match seems to reinforce that.

Ryuko felt Katsumi kick out and she looked up in shock. "How the hell was that not a three count!? How?" Ryuko asked no one in particular. Katsumi was like a roach that just wouldn't stay dead....

The thunder empress rose to her feet, grabbing hold of Katsumi and stepping towards the ropes, trying to send her flying over with an Irish whip! Ryuko grit her teeth, standing ready to deliver a powerslam to the returning Katsumi as soon as she bounced back her way!

Katsumi is fine with Ryuko arguing with the referee. It's giving her a chance to relax on the mat, a chance to recuperate as much as she can in what undoubtedly short span of time she has. But as she's pulled up to her feet, it's clear that there's no more time to rest.

Poised on her boots again, Katsumi's mind races to try to predict what's coming. But it just isn't fast enough. She's whipped towards the ropes, staggering at first as she's thrown forward. She pivots on heel at the last moment to press her back into the ropes, then launches forward. By this point, she's at least running more naturally. In fact, she's picking up speed. She wouldn't have been able to counter something earlier, but now she's in motion. Being subjected to a whip is a common enough occurrence, and she's already desperate to get things going in her favor. She has to do something. Anything.

Katsumi is actually picking up speed on the rebound.

Suddenly, the Japanese girl pops into the air in a ball, only to thrust both boots out in hopes of nailing Ryuko in the chest with a running dropkick!

Ryuko was braced and ready for Katsumi to run back to her... not to fly right at her chest! Ryuko felt the hard dropkick hammer her chest with crushing force, sending her back off her feet! She howled in pain as she smile dbac, landing down on the mat and cradling her chest after Katsumi's painful dropkick! Ryuko kicked the mat and grit her teeth glaring up at the young woman.

She had no remark, no comeback, nothing. Ryuko was hurting and down. She couldn't sit up if she wanted to as the dropkick nearly knocked the wind out of her! Ryuko could only lay there and recover, hoping to be able to work a counter on Katsumi as she reclaimed control!

Katsumi hits the mat on her back, but in a much lighter way than Ryuko. The punkette quickly brings herself back up to her feet, takes a breath, and zeroes her eyes on the brunette lying before her. This is the first truly open opportunity she's had to put the hurt on the "Thunder Empress," and she can't afford to go light or play it safe. She's been getting rolled this match, and she isn't sure how much more punishment she could weather before her body tells her mind to shut up and just go to sleep.

Katsumi runs forward, boots thumping across the mat. One of those thumps is aimed to crash down against Ryuko's midsection as she races by. Afterwards, she leaps at the nearby ropes to press her feet into the middle cord and springs back into the air! Her body arcs in a clean rotation, arms and legs pulling back to draw her stomach taut! Unless Ryuko puts up a defense or moves, she'll soon have that taut stomach landing directly across her midsection in a springboard moonsault!

"Oomph!"

One strike hammered Ryuko in the abdomen as Katsumi ran by. However, that paled in comparison to the crash landing as Katsumi crushed her with the moonsault! Ryuko let out a weak moan as her legs flopped weakly to the mat leaving her flattened underneath Katsumi!

The feel of the world spinning around her is exhilarating. It's likely the opposite for most, but for Katsumi, it feels like she's in control. And it continues right up until her belly impacts across Ryuko's. Following the slam, Katsumi continues to lie across her, stomach pressed across stomach, her upper-body propped on her forearms and elbows. Her head tilts to look back towards Ryuko's face, pleading for her to stay down while the referee-girl drops beside them.

"One!," begins the count with a slap.

Katsumi quickly spares an arm to reach back and hook one of Ryuko's bare thighs, hoping to help keep her pressed to the mat.

Ryuko felt her leg get hooked and her weak bucking of her hips got her nowhere as the count continued!

"TWO!"

Ryuko felt as if things were spiraling out of control, and that was a feeling she hated! With a loud scream she thrst a shoulder up, rolling to her side to break the pin after the two count! She gasped for air, and was covered in sweat. She knew she had to retake control before Katsumi could really get her momentum rolling. The problem is getting that momentum back would not be easy!

With that in mind, Ryuko tried her best to rise up to her feet before Katsumi could do any worse to her!

Katsumi would normally be feeling on top of the world, being perched over a foe for a pinfall. But not with Ryuko. There's too much of a chance that things will double back on her, that Ryuko isn't down for the count. And even as the referee strikes the mat a second time, Katsumi's expression darkens with intensity. He presses in tighter against the other woman, keeping her hold on her leg secure.

And then Ryuko twists free! Free enough to break the pin, at least!

With a small growl, Katsumi grabs for the girl's brunette locks to pull, attempting to draw her up to her feet with her. And once standing, the punkette's arms aim to lock down tight around Ryuko's stomach in a gutwrench bearhug, her front pressing squarely against her opponent's back.

Did this woman think she could bearhug Ryuko? It seemed that she did! While the hold hurt and got a loud shout of pain, the yelping Ryuko had no intention of this woman using a hold like this against her. Rearing her head back the thunder empress tried to smash Katsumi's face with her head over and over to try to free herself! "You aren't going to beat me little girl..... no way!" Ryuko shouted as she tried to bash herself free of this hold!

She hated to admit how well Katsumi was doing. Ryuko was embarrassed at her own performance aside from her start. She needed to regain control... but how? That was a question she needed an answer to, the sooner the better. She knew she had to take out Katsumi's speed. If she couldn't move as quickly that would limit her offense and such or so Ryuko believed.
