The Longest Climb: Maria Tempesta vs Momo Kazan

The sound of Momo's head colliding with the mat was music to Maria's ears. Rolling onto her side, she leaned on her elbow in a sensual pose and gave a bored, theatrical yawn, while next to her Momo was left groaning pain as she lay on her front. So far, everything was going Maria's way: she had been dominating Japanese girl from the onset with an onslaught of relentless offence, leaving Momo too stunned and hurting to fight back. So far, she thought to herself, so great.

Kipping back up to her feet, Maria decided to continue her fast offence, running over towards the ropes. With Momo still hopefuilly recovering, Maria would springboard off of the middle rope, spinning in midair before hopefully dropping down with a leg drop across Momo's back or chest....depending,of course, on whether she was rolling or not.

After taking hit after hit from Maria and being subjected to an embarrassing hold Momo was left lying on her front, groaning weakly as the heel showboated next to her. Momo couldn't exactly fault her for that as she too liked to get a reaction from the crowd, sometimes at the expense of her opponent, in fact if she wasn't currently nursing her face from having it bashed against the mat by Maria then it probably would have gotten a giggle out of the young star. As it was all Momo did was moan as she tried to get her arms under her.

When Maria made a dash for the ropes Momo knew her chance to counter had arrived, she would watch the devil closely as she hit the ropes and once she had started moving through the air and it was too late for her to change course Momo would quickly roll to the side, inelegantly throwing herself against the mat a few feet to the right. While it wasn't the most technical or flashy manoeuvre in the world it got her out of the way of Maria's attack, meaning that the devil would come crashing down onto the mat! Regardless of how well Maria took the impact Momo would drag herself over to the ropes and cling to them so she could drag herself up, still somewhat feeling dazed from all the blows to her head she took.

Just as expected, the crowd cheered and yelled enthusiastically as Maria leaned sideways in a sexy pose, as much for the benefit of the crowd as to mock her floundering opponent. It was things like these that Maria lived for, whether it was enticing the crowd and making the cheer, or driving them into a chorus of hateful boos. Either way, it was all fair game for Maria; as long as they were reacting to her, getting engaged because of her, then she was happy. This ring was her stage, after all, and Momo right now was her unwilling participant.

This was what Maria was thinking, at least, as she burst into a run, rebounding off the ropes and dropping low, breaking into an elegant, balletic spin, her leg describing an arc in the air before coming down across Momo's chest...

Or at least it would have, if the bitch hadn't moved at the last minute.

Hot pain shot up Maria's leg. Despite herself, she shrieked in pain on the impact and bounced off the mat, rolling away. Clenching her teeth with a hiss of irritation and pain, she rolled over onto her hands and knees and began to hobble up to her feet, annoyed by this annoying setback. A setback that Momo was now in a position to quickly capitalize upon...

After quickly rolling out of the path of Maria's attack Momo was given a second to catch her breath for the first time in the match, leaning on the ropes for support as she pulled herself up to her feet. Up until now the Latina had been utterly styling on Momo, laying into her with moves and not allowing the brunette a second to launch a counter attack, but that was about to change.

As Momo straightened up and saw Maria on her hands and knees an impish grin would appear on her face as she pushed herself away from the ropes and started running over to Maria. At the last second Momo would leap up into the air while flipping, giggling with glee as she attempted to come crashing down on Maria's back with a Senton! If it hit the move would leave Momo lying across Maria's back, lounging in relaxation upon the masked fighter

"Shishishi!"

That had been thoroughly embarrassing. Maria's teeth clenched in a hiss of anger as she clutched her hurting leg. Thankfully, she brought her leg down that hard, and had managed to narrowly avoid hyperextending her leg and severely injuring herself, but still...that had hurt. And now she was going to make sure Momo knew how much that had hurt.

Unfortunately for Maria, Momo was one step ahead of her, as the luchadora stood back up just in time to have the Japanese wrestler slam into her, back-first! "UUUGH!" Maria grunted as she went crashing onto her back, Momo lying casually on top of her. She groaned, reflexivly turning her upper body slightly to avoid a pinfall, but that didn't change the fact that Momo was not only in control now, but was also humiliating her in the process.

After finally getting a chance to fight back against Maria and land some moves of her own Momo would leap into the air and use her own body as a weapon to slam down on Maria's back with a Senton, leaving her laying on the Mexican. Momo took a moment to smile to herself in satisfaction of finally having control, but she knew that she couldn't rest on her laurels (or her opponent) for too long or it would be for nothing, so after a moment she would move on to her next move. The young fighter would quickly sit up and try to get on Maria's back so that she could straddle her from behind, then she would reach down to hook her hands underneath Maria's chin before attempting to lean back and put pressure on Maria's spine for a Camel Clutch!

Momo knew that this move wasn't going to finish Maria so early into the fight, but it would wear her down and gave Momo the chance to get back at her masked opponent for the beating she'd taken so far.

Maria's quick thinking had managed to avoid a potential pinfall, but she was still hurting now, and still very much at Momo's mercy. Which, given how ruthlessly she had been attacking the Japanese girl, meant that she couldn't any expect any real mercy at this point. She continued her roll, trying to put some distance between herself and Momo, give herself time to recover--

No. Far too late for her to avoid, Momo was suddenly on her back. Next thing Maria knew, her arms were pulled backwards, hooked around her foe's knees, before her chin was wrenched back painfully as Momo locked in a brutally effective camel clutch. "Aaaaanh!" Maria cried, kicking at the mat as her neck and upper back were suddenly stretched away by her Japanese foe.

Momo could not win by submission; they both knew that. Apparently, Momo had a sadistic streak Maria didn't know about. She clenched her teeth, trying to shut out the pain. "Nnnh...not...quite the good girl I thought you were..." she hissed, half-complimenting her foe even as she tried to endure the submission.

With Maria down on the mat and laid on her front Momo would take the chance to mount her back and wrench on her spine with a Camel Cutch, subjecting the Mexican to immense pain and locking her in place. Apparently Maria wasn't expecting such a move from Momo which earned her a reluctant compliment from the heel, or at least Momo assumed it was a compliment "Sorry if you were expecting me to just lay there and take it, shishi!" Momo responded with a cheeky tone to her voice, and though Maria couldn't actually see it she would stick her tongue out playfully.

Momo didn't intend to drag the hold out for too long though, and would soon release Maria's chin and allow her torso to flop against the mat. She would then rise to her feet so that she was standing above Maria and tensed her legs to show that she was about to leap on the heel again. Only instead Momo would abruptly run towards the ladder and run at it instead, grabbing a hold of the rungs and ignoring her opponent entirely in favour of climbing up towards the briefcase!

For a second it looked like Momo was trying to go straight for the win while the match was still young, shocking the crowd into an audible chorus of gasps, and that was exactly what Momo wanted to make it look like. If Maria got up and tried to go after the young fighter then Momo would suddenly leap off of the ladder and dive at Maria, spreading her body out wide in an attempt to catch the heel with a Diving Splash and drive her back into the canvas!
